App Showcase: Sokonyan
Obviously, this is a game of Sokoban. It features Farrah as the main character, switching her usual aerobics 'fit for a pair of overalls.
The game can detect the presence of a certain file to replace the built-in levels. While taking these pictures, I was reminded that this should not be a plaintext file anymore now that I've simplified the stored level formats.
And yes, the disk in that image spins.
All in all, it plays exactly like you'd expect Sokoban to play.
Future plans:
Level editor
Level pack selector (so you can have more than one set on a diskette)
Animated movements. This may slow down the gameplay a bit, but I feel it may help reduce accidental moves.

A3X Sokoban uses RLE-encoded level maps right now, which means the size of one level may be wildly different from another.
If I were to add a level editor, that would have to
recompress what the player made.
slot that into the level pack file without causing slack or overwriting later levels.
I don't think it'd increase the size of the built-in level data overly much if it were just a raw set of 20×16 byte maps, and it would certainly simplify implementing a level editor...
