Well, I just spent more minutes editing a screen shot of the anime to create a banner for Quicksand - my Crocodile x Reader fic - than I had expected to spend.
BUT, I like how it came out, so I won't complain too much.

Pretty hastily slapped together, but here's a comm sheet for those who were wondering about the prices in my pinned post! I'm a little nervous about taking comms from social media again, but I'm open to it as my family needs the money so often now...
More recently, I've taken to working on iPad - this will be a more common thing as the summer months roll around and it becomes too stuffy to stick to my PC for working on art.
Here's what I CAN do, for the moment:
Cute, simple designs - Pokemon and simple (rookie-level or earlier) Digimon are a strong suit of mine, but if you have a wonderfully simple OC I can work with too then it'll do!
Cats. I loooove drawin' cats! If you have a Warriors OC, chances are I can draw em.
Fluffy stuff overall! (As long as it's simple enough, obviously - Fluff is another comfort thing I looove to work with. This means literal fluffy stuff like fuzzy animals/critters, and figurative fluff like cuddles and tickles!)
Sans!! (No seriously, I funkin love drawin' sans. If you got a Sans I can draw, I will happily draw him!)
Here's what I CAN'T do, for the moment, on the other hand:
NSFW art (This is because a) there's minors who follow this blog - I have to keep that stuff away (and keep them safe)! and b) I'm not ready to take NSFW commissions, and probably won't be a for a while.)
Heavy gore and themes (It's a lot to work with, and it's not something I personally dabble in if at all, so the result would NOT be to your liking if I tried more than likely lol)
Intricate Detail (I have my reasons for this! My wrist has been acting up more often in the last few years and so intricate detail is... overwhelming for me, right now, outside of personal work. It's just not a strong suit of mine, as much as I'd love it to be - it's not quite a part of the art style as it is right now.)
Added notes:
- I have the right to decline a commission if it either makes me uncomfortable to work with it or otherwise is overwhelming. That is to say, if one artist can't achieve what you're looking for then usually that's an indicator to hold onto your money for a bit until you find the right person!
I send the paypal link at the halfway point (the sketch, just before lineart) normally - but if you want to pay upfront, then please let me know. (I don't wait until the piece is completely done as a safety measure to ensure the person commissioning me doesn't nab the piece and run lol)
I CANNOT REFUND ONCE THE COMMISSION IS PAID FOR. The money goes STRAIGHT into family-related necessities like bills and groceries, and I absolutely CANNOT afford to return money when we are consistently struggling to even get food for the house, nevermind commissions. (It's also just kinda mean?? :c)
I am on commission burnout - what this means is that my work may take longer than usual to get done, but I hold to my word that I get it done no matter how long it takes. If you need the piece done as priority, then make sure you specify when giving the details for your commission! (I do best, however without a time limit or deadline to work with.)
As of right now, I'm practically (metaphorically) crying for simple designs due to this burnout! I need something I can just fly through to get done so I don't stress myself out further on a queue that's been waiting to be done for a hot second.

HOMEBOUND TRAIN
Tumblr media
you chose the yoga mat
you've unlocked a new timeline !! remember that each decision generates more alternative realities, so choose wisely.
if you're new here: link to the beginning !!
standing in the snaking line to board the train, you look the sea of people around you. it's like a mini migration, all headed to geoje-ssi, your hometown. and rightfully so, it is a beautiful place.
you remember it to be an attractive vacation spot. memories flood back of your childhood, surrounded by tourists snapping photos and getting under your grandma's skin with their incessant chatter. she never missed a chance to curse them under her breath.
as the queue inches forward, the station workers call for a second line, reserved for those lugging around massive suitcases, bikes, and other oversized gear. you watch as they shuffle off to form a new queue, feeling pretty smug about your minimalist packing skills.
thanks to your decision to travel light, with just your yoga mat snugly rolled atop your backpack, you breeze past the need to stuff anything extra into the luggage compartment. its a small victory, but it allows you to hop on the train ahead of the crowd.
most of the compartments are still empty, so you're free to choose any spot you like. snagging a spot by the window, you cozy up for the ride. but as the train begins to move, the steady rattle lulling you to sleep, your phone buzzes with an incoming call.
you smile upon discovering the familiar name on the screen. despite having gradually lost touch since you moved out, you had never deleted his contact and apparently he hadn't changed his phone number in 7 years.
"well, this is awkward" he chuckles softly from the other line.
"yeah, kinda." you agree, trying to suppress your own smile. "i mean, i didn't expect you to call like, at all. the old kai i knew would've probably let the awkwardness win."
he let out a light giggle. "guess i'm not that kid anymore. but you're right, it wasn't exactly my initiative. gran insisted i call."
"why's that?"
"to let you know that i'll be picking you up, of course! you didn't think i was gonna leave you stranded at the station, did you? awkward or not, we're top notch hosts, us huenings."
"aw, that's sweet of you, kai, but really, it's fine. i could just grab a cab or something. no need to go through the trouble."
"but i want to! plus, i've got a surprise for you," he added eagerly.
"really?"
"yep! and trust me, it's a win-win. it'll totally ease the awkwardness of us reuniting after, what, 8 years without a word."
"what's the surprise? tell me, pretty please..."
"see, y/n, i know for sure you're pouting. but we're on the phone, so it has no effect on me..." kai teased.
"fine. whatever," you chuckled. "i guess i'll have to wait and see."
"you won't have to wait long. what's your ETA?"
"hmm, i should be there around 6pm."
"sweet, i´ll be there! i'm eager to see you again, y/n" he admits, his tone softening. "it's been too long."
"yeah, it has," you agree. "i'm really looking forward to catching up."
"me too. oh, and one more thing," kai added before you could respond. "gran insisted that we picked up those pastries you like so much from dan´s bakery on our way home, so start brainstorming flavours, alright?"
"i will," you said with a smile. "tell grandma i'm excited to see her!"
"will do. see you soon!"
"see you soon, little cousin." even after hanging up the phone, your smile lingers.
your little cousin kai had always been the quiet type, shy to a fault, but hearing him on the phone just now, he sounded different—more confident, somehow. it's funny how people change, you think to yourself, a sense of pride swelling in your chest as you picture kai, no longer the timid child you remember, but growing into his own. just like you had, just like everyone must have while you were away.
and that's when the grin started to fade. you're different now, you realize. you've changed. changed a lot, actually. maybe for the better, you like to hope. you've morphed into this conventionally beautiful woman, ticking off all those boxes of academic success. but deep down, that awkward little girl, the one who used to get teased and called names, she's still lurking in that beach town you're heading back to. it's like a part of you never left.
and just as you were mulling over this, the worst case scenario materialised in front of you. seems like you've got some sort of accidental superpower – call it manifestation, call it anxiety gone wild, to think terrible things into existence.
from your compartment window you see a bunch of rowdy guys strolling down the train like they own the place, their laughter bouncing off the walls. matching baseball jackets over broad shoulders screaming go team. it gives you the ick, you don't have a particularly fun history with jocks.
you attempt to curl up into a ball, hoping to disappear into yourself, maybe even fake a quick nap. but no dice. just as you're getting into position, you catch one of them saying, "just one chick in this one, let's go in." and before you know it, the door's swinging open. you ditch the fake sleep act real quick. you're gonna need your senses on high alert for this one.
they come storming in like a tornado, all noise and laughter, sharing jokes you couldn't have understood if you tried. as they barrel into the compartment, one of them—an apparently the more considerate one—asks, "mind if we snag a spot here?"
"sure," you mumble with a tight smile, shooting him a quick glance. brown hair, handsome features. and though he's not the tallest of the bunch, he definitely has a solid build.
his eyes though, those big eyes, they're what gives you a pause. they look familiar, and that makes you uneasy. his smile is stern, but if you squint, apologetic even. but his attempt at politeness goes unnoticed by his buddies, who just dump their luggage without a second thought.
your stomach's doing backflips, and your hands are practically dripping with sweat. it's unreal, really. you haven't even reached your hometown yet, and already you feel like you've been transported back to your awkward preteen years. it's like all the confidence you've managed to build up over the years just evaporated the moment these guys stepped into the picture.
if you hadn't been so wrapped up in your own nerves, maybe you would've caught on to the fact that one of the guys was checking you out and nudging one of his buddies with a smirk. but poor you doesn't, being too busy trying to blend into the upholstery. so, naturally, you miss the sly exchange of gazes between them and the way one of them strategically sidles up next to you.
shit. you think as you notice him plop down in the seat beside yours. six seats in the compartment, four units of idiot and one yourself. he could've left an empty spot between the two of you but chose not to. you still refuse to look up, keeping your eyes glued to the scuffed linoleum floor as if it held all the answers. but then he talks to you.
"you know, you're kinda cute" he says as his friends snigger.
and that's when it hits you like a ton of bricks. that same boy had called you cute many years ago, but for diametrically opposite reasons. your old middle school bully, park jintaek –that's if he could be considered a bully, at all. more like a professional at dishing out lame nicknames and being a total moron. seeing him again feels like a slap in the face with a mortification stick you never asked for.
"m-me? thank you." you say. you give him a polite but dismissive smile, hoping he'll take the hint and move on. but of course, he does not.
"aw, look at you, all shy and cute," he coos, leaning in a little closer. "no need to be scared, doll. we're all pals here. and hey, if any of these clowns freaks you out, i've got your back."
he flashes a cocky grin, but you stay silent. partly because you're not exactly itching to keep the conversation going, and partly because you have no idea what to say. not only had he not recognised you, he was trying to flirt with you. like some bad joke.
he slings an arm over your shoulders, and your entire body tenses up. you've never been good at handling this kind of situation, especially not if it's coming from fucking park jintaek.
back in middle school, he used to pull this kind of crap all the time. not because he wanted to get in your pants, though. no, he did it to mock you, to remind you that no one would ever want to be close to you that way. it's unsettling, you think, how similar his genuine flirting is to his bullying antics.
"so, where you headed?" he insists despite your silence.
you struggle for a moment, trying to come up with some lie, but nothing comes to mind. you end up telling the truth, even though you figure they're probably off to the same place. "geoje-ssi," you mutter.
"no way! us too! talk about fate, right?" he says with a smug grin. corny ass, you think as he keeps on blabbering. "i actually grew up there, you know? in geoje-ssi. i'm off to spend the summer break. so, if you need a tour guide or anything, just hit me up. you're all cute and quiet. exactly my type... if you care." he adds.
"sure," you reply cautiously, hoping to put an end to the conversation. he doesn't have a type, you know that. he filters the world in terms of boobs and ass, he doesn't give a shit about anything else.
"oh, but you don't have my number." he says, and you try so hard to not roll your eyes. "you know what, i´ll take yours. imma make sure you get the welcome you deserve."
...jerk.
what do you do?
no way you're giving him your number. you're not a scared little kid anymore and this has gone too far for you to tolerate.
give him a fake number and stay quiet. anything to shut him up.

Welcome to the Celestial Record!
This is a reblog blog for all things Zestiria; fun to follow if you want a daily dose of some of the old art and such still floating around the site! This blog will function somewhat as an archive for zesty posts, but I won't promise it'll catch everything.
Expect to see about two reblogs a day—as the blog runs on a queue—and know that since I will mostly be reblogging from the archive of my main blog, there is somewhat of a bias as to what posts make it in (posts I personally liked and reblogged before making this blog). However, I will also be adding new posts as I find them, and will shuffle the queue so we're not exclusively stuck on old posts for over a year while I'm getting this project off the ground ✨
Tagging System
I will tag for every character and ship when applicable, so if you want to search for those specifically, or want to filter anything out, the option is there! I won't tag "#tales of zestiria" since that's redundant, but if the post also contains other tales games, I will tag for those. (character and ship tags will only be used for zestiria)
Other tagging quirks:
#tales of zestiria the x for stills/gifs/videos of the anime
epileo will be tagged as #mikleo and #epileo
#seraph [character] for posts with seraph versions of human characters
#epilogue sormik for posts containing epileo and #seraph sorey
#[element] kamui for armatized characters
General organizational tags:
#[original poster's blog]
#fanart
#official art
#game stuff *
#fic
#cosplay
#text
#gif
#video
#nsft for posts containing explicit sexual content
*post contains screenshots, gifs, or videos of the game itself
Ask Box
If there's a post you want reblogged or a tag you want added to my general tags or a specific post, send me an ask! If the post you suggest is already in the queue, I'll respond privately to let you know (only if off anon), but if not I'll add it. Anon is on if you want to submit anonymously.
If you have any questions about this blog and how I run it, feel free to send those too! I'll respond to these asks publicly :D
(if you notice I've accidentally reblogged a non-zestiria post, let me know!! I haven't managed two blogs simultaneously before so I might not always notice when I forget to switch blogs)

How have you managed to update neud every week?
It's a combination of a lot of things!
How To Manage Schedules for Long Project
Advice by me, someone who has done this once and is totally an expert (/sarcasm)
Write in advance
Get a lot of the writing done before you start posting anything. For NEUD, I wrote the whole of draft one, then edited it to get to draft two which meant filling out every section that was incomplete, adding/removing chapters to make the plot move fairly well. Draft three is what's available now. I spent a week working on a chapter and then it gets posted on Friday (I worked ahead to get all of draft three up on Patreon early, so I'm not in this editing process anymore, but this is what it was like for a while). It's not impossible to write a chapter from scratch before each upload if you're on a weekly schedule, but you'll probably be battling burnout and you won't be giving yourself much of a safety net for any issues with the plot/writer's block/etc. This advice might seem kinda obvious, but I did try writing as I was uploading on a now-abandoned project, and it wasn't great! This also helps you stay motivated even if you're not getting notes/comments at first (and you may not). You'll have it all written out and all you have to do is press post.
Be okay with it not being perfect
There are a lot of parts of NEUD that I'm not happy with. But if I had waited for NEUD to be up to a grand, golden standard--it would have never made it online. Publishing a web novel, imo, allows for more amateur mistakes. You don't have an editing team like you would at a publishing house. Especially with a project like NEUD--a romance novel--I felt a little less pressure. I wasn't writing War and Peace. I want it to be good, but I tried not to be too much of a perfectionist. And the thing is, you're going to be unhappy with parts that other people really like. You're seeing your work in a different way than your readers. There are parts of NEUD that I honestly don't like, but it's one of those things that it just has to be done. A bad chapter doesn't make a bad book. Just try making sure there are as few grammatical errors or spelling mistakes as possible. You can use software like Grammarly to help catch mistakes you're inevitably going to miss.
Plan ahead and pace yourself
Make out your schedule before you start posting. Think about what days work best for you. Write down what dates you'll post on a little in advance and don't try tackling your schedule in one night. It'll take time to plan how you want to execute everything. I made a mistake here! I wish I hadn't chosen Fridays to post! I work every other Friday, and my homework is always due on Fridays. There would be other days that worked better for me, and in the future, I'm going to consider that for upcoming projects. You can also use queues or scheduled posts to ease the workload if you have chapters ready in advance.
Take breaks
Go on hiatus every now and again. Take time to relax and work on other hobbies. This is important especially if you have other commitments like school or a job that gets busy at certain times of the year. If you're using Patreon, you can suspend payments a month at a time.
Don't get discouraged
Disclaimer: not that many people have read NEUD. But I really am appreciative of every single person who has let me know they read it because I really wasn't expecting anyone to look at it at all! Projects posted online are often overlooked and get buried under the mountain of WIPs everyone is working on. Having someone read your project is a big honor because they're volunteering their time and attention! And everyone is busy, so really even if one person is leaving a like--that's a huge accomplishment! I don't buy into the "likes don't do anything" mantra that started being spread on this site. Likes are important! They're cool! Enjoy your likes! Reblogs don't guarantee that more people are going to look at your thing, honestly. Of course, reblogs are neat because they do raise the chances of your project being seen, but I also don't think anyone is entitled to having their project reblogged. People can post whatever they want on their blogs. If they don't want my amateur project there, that's fine! But I also understand when you've poured hours into something and you get about three notes. It feels bad. But don't let it get you down. Sometimes it just takes a while for people to find your project or find the time to read it. You never know if someone has the link open in a new tab on their laptop or is following your blog, waiting for more chapters to be uploaded so they can read a substantial chunk later. Just because something didn't get notes in the first hour that you posted doesn't mean it'll never be seen by anyone ever again. I know a lot of times that's how social media is made out to be, but you should never feel like you've lost an audience because you posted when people are sleeping/working/just not on their phones.
That's all I can really say :) Just stay positive and think ahead. It's not an easy thing to do but if you just set aside time once you're done writing and get your ducks in a row, you should be able to manage it bit-by-bit.
And mini self-promo, you can check out Nobody Ends Up Dead in a Bathtub, Everyone Keeps Their Organs every Friday on this blog, on Wattpad, AO3, or my Patreon (where chapters are made public every week).
Check it out if you'd be interested in a romance about a sex worker and a client who met through a prank, now fake-dating as revenge against the men who set them up.

Hello! I’m going to one of the MCR shows in Brisbane and i was wondering if you could give me some info on the venue/etiquette over there (I’m from Puerto Rico). Do you know if they’ll do the wristband system for GA or if you’ll have to queue all day? Are pits particularly rowdy or anything like that? I’m so excited to go to Australia for the first time! Any tips on what to do/eat would also be welcomed 😅 thanks!
heyy!! sorry this took a while for me to get to, i wanted to give you a decent answer. first of all, that's really exciting that you're coming from pr!!!! hope you enjoy your trip <333
okay so you didn't specifically ask this but just as a general heads up because i worry about it - one thing for i know for sure is that overnight camping at this venue is strictly prohibited. it's also not actually possible at all, because the venue is in a large gated-off area that's locked at night and borders/is surrounded by swampy wilderness lol. so as a heads up to anyone attending the brisbane show, please please do not camp overnight it's not only illegal but very unsafe. you'll also literally be eaten alive by bugs lol it's a huge mosquito breeding ground. i promise you'll regret it lmaooo.
okay the rest of the answer is under a cut bc it got rambly lol sorry. but if anyone else is travelling to brisvegas 🤘🤘 for the show/s, here's a little crash course for you if you want lol
so to answer your original question, i highly doubt there'll be any kind of wristband system organised by the venue tbh, i've just never heard about a precedent for that here (though i haven't been to this particular venue since before covid so i guess i could be wrong). their website says you can queue "outside the turnstiles" on the day, so i think it'll just be down to who shows up tbh! also as a reminder, the venue is kind of out of the way and there isn't much in the way of food/water nearby to purchase so if you do do that, come prepared! and bring plenty of sunscreen and probably insect repellent. remember it will almost definitely still be quite hot in march down here. i'm not really expecting a very serious queue myself - i'm thinking there'll be maybe a dozen or two dedicated people who show up in the morning at most, and the rest won't show up until maybe a few hours in advance. i could be wrong though!! i'm personally not planning on getting up really early, i'd rather be rested for the show. maybe late morning? who knows i might change my mind
it's also not exactly the easiest venue to get to by public transport lol, your best bet is the nearby train station (boondall station). but on the plus side it's close to the airport!
as for pit rowdiness, it's really hard to say, i reckon it just varies from show to show. i'm honestly really curious myself as to what the crowds will be like because from what i can tell mcr aren't really as popular over here in general as they are in america/the uk (not so sure about europe). i already know a couple of people who are going who don't actually know much of their music they were just like oh huh mcr, i remember them LOL. for reference there are two shows in each city, one that was announced in 2019 and one that was added the second or third time they rescheduled, and in every city that second show still hasn't sold out. so i don't thiiiink the pit will be very rowdy at these particular shows, no. but same as always - if you're worried, just avoid standing front and centre!
as for what to do/eat - now this really depends on where you're staying and how long you're staying for! the best place for that kind of stuff is obvs around the centre of brisbane, whereas the mcr venue, like i said, is pretty close to the airport. if you want to really see brisbane and eat out in nicer restaurants/bars, southbank (most tourist-friendly place, accessible and genuinely nice to wander around along the river), the fortitude valley (which is also the nightlife district and chinatown), and west end (pretty heavily gentrified 'hip' youth area - lots of vegan food and brunch places, farmer's markets and the like) are probably your best bets, though not the cheapest. brisbane does actually have a good foodie culture so there's plenty around - it's hard to go wrong with asian food here thanks to australia's pretty high asian population! if your budget is smaller than that - dude trust me. go to any brumby's bakery or to any pie face and get a proper meat pie. and a lamington while you're at it.
if your stay is short and you just want to find cheaper accommodation close to the airport, honestly the aforementioned swampy wilderness that the entertainment centre is in is part of a national park (boondall wetlands environment centre) that's quite nice to walk around if you're into that kind of thing! it's a mangrove system which is a really fascinating ecosystem if you haven't seen them (though i think pr has plenty lol), lots of native birds and shit. the nearby suburbs of sandgate and shorncliffe are a great place for some classic fish and chips and to walk along/sit by the water (though don't get excited, they're not a 'real' aussie beach, it's a sheltered bay so the water is flat and the sand is brown).
depending how long you're staying and whether you'll have a car, there are lots of very beautiful "real" beaches surrounding brisbane an hour or two in either direction - the gold coast to the south is for the touristy ones (good if you like shopping/nightlife, more accessible by public transport), and the sunshine coast to the north is quieter and prettier. there's also lots of nice hiking trails around if you're into that but you would need a car.
anyway. sorry this is long, i hope i answered your question!! you're welcome to dm me if you want specific clarification on anything :)))

A Silly Sign from the Universe
I've been having a bad year. I quit my job in 2022. It was a dead-end job with long work hours, shit pay, and nonstop stressful assignments with constantly changing goalposts. But it was still more or less a stable source of income. I spent all of 2023 trying to find a new job and failing. I've seen so many headlines about writers being laid off. The percentage of job listings for writer positions that are for writing AI content keeps going up. I only have enough money in my bank account to pay for half a year more of living expenses. I wasn't able to renew my health insurance for 2024. Productivity is difficult when I have to fight everyday against the debilitating effects of untreated depression. I'm constantly on edge, not knowing when my flatmate will get sick of me invading her apartment and kick me out. I feel like I lost a month working on a friend's academic project that can't even make the claim that it'll pay me in exposure. My flatmate tested positive for COVID last week and I've been holed up in this room to avoid being infected by her if I'm not already and to avoid infecting others if I already have been. Neighborhood friends dropped by today to drop off food from a New Year's Eve brunch and to wave at me from a safe distance while I collected the bag and I nearly burst into tears because it was a precaution I would have taken myself if they hadn't, but the experience of seeing them so put-together and happy from afar was too much for me and made me feel even more isolated and alone.
Earlier today, I thought to myself sourly that when midnight rolled around, I would likely be stuck doing exactly what I had been doing this entire last week, this last year: scrolling through job ads and wrestling with code someone else had broken and expected me to fix for no compensation. And that would be how my new year started, colouring the rest of the year to come.
I finished coding early. I finished scrolling through job ads early. I booted up critically-acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy XIV to do my chores a.k.a. try to level Monk up to 70. I had had a large mimosa, the ingredients for which had been in the care package from earlier in the day. I was very tipsy and worn-out and couldn't bring myself to even care about trying to do my rotation correctly. I go through the daily roulettes. Lost City of Ampador (Hard) for the level 50/60/etc roulette. Nice. Shisui of the Violet Tides for the Leveling roulette. Nice. Labyrinth of the Ancients for the Alliance Raid roulette. Well, at least it's not Syrcus Tower. Trial roulette. The queue pops instantly and it's an ongoing duty. I blink. Enter and it's The Chrysalis. Three DPS and a healer. No tanks. Ah.
I stay. It turns out on the last attempt someone disconnected right before the part where you're supposed to use a Limit Break to burst down an add before the party wipes to meteors, leaving the party without a Limit Break. A healer joins. Then a tank. I wonder aloud whether the queue would send me back to this instance were I to leave and requeue as a tank. The Samurai in the party says they'll give it a try. They leave. A different DPS and a tank immediately join. RIP Samurai. Your sacrifice was unnecessary but appreciated.
The trial proceeds uneventfully until the boss is down to about 15% health. One of the other DPS members starts casting the Limit Break, presumably not realising we were going to need it shortly for that one add. The Red Mage and one of the tanks scream in horror. Then, miraculously, the would-be Limit Breaker and herald of our wipe actually reads chat and cancels the cast in time. A collective sigh of relief is heard. We get sucked into the vortex, the add spawns, I get to use the Limit Break on it and punch it into oblivion.
The duty concludes. A round of GGs is had, I wish everyone Happy New Year, and then I exit the duty and realise it is indeed the new year, the clock having ticked over roughly some time while we were panicking about a possible wipe. Someone has said the word "fullerene" in the group chat and summoned me from the void. I unleash my unholy wrath upon them and they bid me return to the vessel from whence I came, whether it be a lamp or a bottle. I respond, in part as a morbid joke I expected only myself to be in on, that I would return to the uterus. They say no, you can't do that, and I am flummoxed by the uncharacteristic abruptness. I wonder if my clandestine moment of dark humour had been caught.
A few minutes later, I remember the name of the trial I had been in and revive the earlier conversation to joke that that way the vessel I had been in and to which I would now return. I pause as a memory stirs. A post had come out of my Tumblr queue two days ago. Something about a chrysalis. It talked about how it is a long painful process, the process of healing. How the caterpillar tucks itself into a cocoon when it finally feels safe enough to do so and must first dissolve into a disgusting slurry in order to metamorphose into what it was meant to be.
I start crying.

HI so i kinda put this all in the tags of one of Drift's submissions today but i wanna actually kinda give a proper update of how i plan to go forward with this blog as DMP is coming to a close. a lil bit of this addresses something that happened last episode so HERE is your spoiler warning NOW
Okay so first things first, with Juniper's new name I am going to be going back to all the Junior tags and ADDING juniper to them. Originally i was gonna replace everything including the actual name in the quotes but bro told me not to haha. it's... a lot of maintenance and Juniper's arc is more about trying to find an identity for himself rather than distancing himself from an old name ie Charlie. going forward all quotes not explicitly pre-void will be labelled as Juniper and tagged with all three juniper/junior tags. the one person who submitted me a Juniper quote on anon, i haven't forgotten about your post. I've held onto it for a bit bc i didnt wanna have another post to deal with the name change tag so soon to the episode happening haha
Second, out of context spoilers is coming... eventually. I've had to put my regular post-episode notes on hold until i'm far enough along in my finale work i'm COMFORTABLE taking a likely 2 day venture into a task that's both time consuming and physically taxxing, and so i'm planning on rewatching the episode some time today or tomorrow to do a run for anything in OOC spoilers i wanna add before posting them
Third, I'm.... REAL sorry i haven't been posting a lot on this blog. there's a lot of reasons for that. obviously as most of y'all know as I am an official artist for DMP now i'm INCREDIBLY busy with the finale, and even though putting quotes from the backlog onto the blog or on a queue isn't terribly hard or time consuming it's also something that just slips my mind a lot. also i have a lot of anxiety surrounding my backlog getting too short, even though it's not THAT bad right now. plus, considering I know the ending of the show and a ton of my quotes have BEEN in the backlog for SOOOO long some of them may be outdated in terms of dynamics and such, and I'm not sure how many of them i'm ACTUALLY willing to post because i haven't combed through them in a while. plus a lot of the older ones just aren't as funny to me. once DMP is done and i still have the hyperfixation brainrot i may try to maintain this blog a little more until i at LEAST get through all my backlog quotes. once those are done I'll probably just post quotes as i see fit whenever i find them, instead of actively trying to maintain a backlog. i haven't had time to actively go hunting for new quotes in a long time, so that stuff will come once dmp is done, again. I wanna keep the blog running for at least a bit after DMP is done as a way to help everyone including myself with going content cold turkey, and as i'll NOT be swamped in work it'll be a good time to TRY and find new material. plus i wont have to worry about anything with dynamics changing.
as for quotes running as we lead up to the finale? i'm gonna try posting around every week or so, maybe in 5 quote batches? i'm not sure. again, lots of anxiety surrounding the shrinking backlog combined with So Much Work that i make no promises but i DO wanna at least treat yall as we enter one last mini hiatus as we're working hard behind the scenes to give yall the finale you DESERVE

Kindred [Chapter 7]
Tumblr media
name: Kindred fandom: Ace Attorney | Gyakuten Saiban pairing: Mitsurugi Reiji | Miles Edgeworth/Naruhodou Ryuuichi | Phoenix Wright wordcount/chapters: 7/?, 27k additional tags: miles adopting pess: the fic!, it'll take a while but we'll get to narumitsu eventually i promise, set during disbarment but no AJ spoilers bc i haven't played it yet, Plot Lite(TM), very mild disbarment-typical angst, Slow(ish) Burn, References to / characters from AAI 1&2 but no major spoilers
summary:
Her ears prick up at the sound of his voice, but she doesn’t move. "You'll have to forgive me, I'm afraid. I suspect that I am not very good at this." Miles would feel silly to an extreme for speaking to her like this, except for the way that Pess thaws, ever so slightly - her tail twitches, her head dips a little from its stiff posture, and she huffs out a long breath, heavier than her shallow meter from before. "I'm aware you don't understand me, but I am quite certain that I understand you, Pess, at least a little. And I want you to know you are safe with me in this house, and that this will be your home so long as you are happy here.”
Against his better judgement, Miles Edgeworth adopts a dog.

(ID below)
Image ID: a meme of a Venn Diagram with two intersecting circles: one is labelled “slow burn because of trauma, plot circumstances, and misunderstandings” and the other reads “slow burn because they’re fucking stupid”. In the center where the circles intersect is an image of Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth.

I just realized that my thoughts on perfectly (well...mostly) harmless things is "Cute! Keep it away." For example, bats and (some) bugs. I'm flipping TERRIFIED of bats, I CRIED when I found out that there had been one in my room for a week around last 4th of July, but I am totally ok around pictures. Heck, I've even drawn them. When I went to glacier 2 weeks ago, a yellow and black bug had flown into the car and it wouldn't go away. It was in the front but then it went to the back, where I was sitting and I was like NOPE and moved to the back back. (Our car has 3 rows) AND THEN Last week, there was a huge fly or something on the kitchen counter while I was emptying the dishwasher and I slammed a water battle on it and I was shaky afterwords. But some bugs, like bumblebees (which these bugs looked like), are cute in pictures.
