my concept dev class is almost all seniors (literally everyone except a single guy) so we don't need it for creating capstone pitches and our professor talked to the chair to see if we could have more freedom over the projects we're gonna do since like. Following the class to the letter would be redundant to us

SO instead of creating a pitch for a 3 minute animated film, we get to create a pitch for a 3 minute proof of concept for a larger project, if that's what we want

And I asked

And we can use ideas we've already created as long as the work produced for the class is new

I have to present 2 ideas tomorrow and the professor will tell me which one to pursue, but you can bet your asssssss one of them's gonna be Willow Wren

#im so excited #i love this professor and know him pretty well at this point #so im already predicting he'll hear WW's concept and be like 'it's a little cliche. tell me why i should care about THIS story specifically #and I will get to bust out my speech about how it IS cliche and that's the POINT #because growing up as a girl makes you feel so objectified #society doesnt respect the autonomy of children OR women #so young girls? forget about it #and WW comes from the same place as my younger self pretending to get trapped in an aquarium every time i played mermaids at the pool #play is how children wrap their heads around things that dont make sense #stories are too #and this story deserves to be told because little girls deserve to see themselves in it
