Ive been seeing @goosefeathercore’s tags with ‘favorite deranged uncle’ and yeah theyre right, I’m surprised theres not that much art of him being an uncle let alone any art just chilling with other characters
Tumblr media
Goosefeather is very weird, but he loves his nieces!! And his nieces love him too.

Thinking about Bluestar again why won’t she leave my head-
But her dynamics are just so yummy. So tasty. I could read about them again and again and still love them so much. Actually that’s a lie bc I love the core identities of her relationships that I choose to look at in a entirely different way.
(Warning very long and very rambley as well as entirely based on how I perceive her!!)
Snowpaw was her safety, a show of stability and genuine care. She could look to her sister and tell what was happening and how to deal with it. She sees her sisters anger at their father and she feels that resentment, the same bitterness in her. She sees how her sister clings to their mom, so she clings to her mom. But this can only go to a point. They start growing up and she sees Snow look at that spiky apprentice. She can’t understand it. What does she see in the cat? He’s not even good looking. This results in a block, a wedge between them. She can’t understand why Snow is drifting away, and especially why she’s getting closer to that dumb Thistle butt. So she turns away. She turns back to her mom.
Her mom similar to her sister was a stable force to her but one of tranquillity. Where she’d look to Snow to read the world around her she would look to Moon to counter what she was feeling herself and stay cool headed. But when she finds her dead and suddenly the cat who would keep her calm is gone she explodes. The angry frost behind her growing. She can’t bare to even look at the Windclan cats who took pride in the battle that took her mother. Especially not the cat who murdered her.
That’s where Sunfall steps in. While he’s passive he’s also very well at communication. He gets her out of head, finding what gets that chill out of her bones. He sees this light in her that she doesn’t quite understand but finds comfort in. He cares about her and he tells her he does to make sure she knows it. He also gives her ambition to be better, stronger, to strive for things in the future instead of drowning in the past.
Then we drive back to Snowfur. She’s smart, skilled and seems to know what to do. While Blue ofc is ambitious and hardworking she has a hard time dealing with change. But her sister easily adapts around it to get stronger. Where she’s ice her sister is water. Snow clearly cares for her but has a much bigger life now, with her mate Thistleclaw. She has a coming litter. Something Blue had never even thought about ever. And to see Snow so happy and on track it sets her spiraling a tad.
Straight into the arms of Oakheart. He’s coolheaded, confident, and incredibly good with his words. He makes everything sound softer, kinder. As if he could just wash reality with downy feathers. When they meet she doesn’t really care for him at all finding him more annoying with his long words then endearing. Even seeing his brother, who is far more like her, a lot more pleasant to be around. Where she could see a mutual in Crookedjaw she saw a pest in Oakheart. Until, she falls. Makes a complete mess of herself and he doesn’t even bat a eye at helping her out. Though he laughs at her soaked pelt she can see exactly what he means behind his teasings. He’s glass to her. She finds care behind each word and enjoys hearing his stories. Especially when she knows he exaggerates them. They meet multiple times and see each other as close friends.
She’s happy. While she feels a slight pain in her heart to see Snow so distant she makes up for it with Oak. Until she learns she’s expecting. She never wanted this. She never ever wanted kits in her life. Panicking she goes to her sister who is betrayed but agrees to help her until she says who their other parent is. A river cat, the deputy at that who Blue had told her multiple times she found annoying. Snow is feeling left out, her sister never confided in her? What did she do to be locked out? They were so close what happened? Blue says they drifted because of Thistle. And Snow is angry now. She loved Blue more than anyone but to not care for her mate? She’s in a fit when she hears the Shadow cats and chases after them, only to die on the thunder path right in front of Bluefur.
Blue cuts off Oak and closes off everyone. Blaming herself and Thistle’s words against her pushing it further. She hates what she’s done. She wants to take it all back. To be back with her mom and sister. She has the kits and Thrushpelt takes her aside and asks her if she would like him to cover as their sire. While they were friends and he definitely loved her they both knew she didn’t feel that way for him. But she declines taking it as her responsibility. They are her mistakes and she would not bring another cat in on her mess. While she does love her kits and nephew she can’t care for them like her mother cared for her. She always feel like she’s doing everything wrong and she hates being a mother. Thrush and Sun both help her out a lot but still the kits long for a real parental figure, one she can’t ever be.
So she gives them up. She gives them to their father who she knows could love them with more care then she ever could. Moss dies on the journey and it crushes her but she has to get her remaining kits to their father. When she returns she covers their disappearance as a fox attack. She’s at a very low point but starts to get better, stronger. She feels that same ambition that always stabbing in her belly. And now that she was almost a star to the clan she could feel it just at her claws. She’s made deputy. At last. Then leader. Bluestar she hears. Her clans words like the same brightness she heard from her now passed mentor so long ago. She loves being leader and caring for her clan in this diplomatic way but she starts to crumble. As she ages she feels the ache of grief alway behind her. The cats of her past haunting her for long.
But as her heart turns to jagged ice something comes in to melt its pain away. Firepaw. She sees the brightness in him that she knew Sunstar had once seen in her. And she wouldn’t let him down by smothering the ember that would someday save all of the clans.
