Story ADHD
As of late, the days I am inspired to write have been few and far between. I can blame it on work being really intense right now, but there's also a little bit of story ADHD happening.
I finished The Enchanted Smutbook and then The Slytherin Toy's Christmas Wish and also a surprise chapter of Breed. So I thought ... great, now I can devote all of my time to finishing my WIPs – The Curse of 100 and New Year's Eve Wedding Week.
It's just ... the thing is ... those aren't truly my only WIPs. I have plenty of other stories I will get randomly inspired to write, but that I haven't started posting:
A/B/O - this is my gift fic for @f1dget-scribbles :) The idea behind it is an A/B/O Dramione where they don't magically like each other just because they're mated. And also filling it with Fidget's favorite things.
Severance - have you seen the show on Apple TV? This will be my take on that with Hermione and Draco as co-workers who have separate memories of work and home. This was my Camp NaNo project in July but I am only about halfway finished.
Soulmate Spell - a coven casts a spell to reveal soulmate marks ... and guess whose names end up on Hermione and Draco's arms??
Memory Loss fic - Draco captures Hermione during the war and she erases her own memory. Five years later, they are living together as a couple in France ... and Harry finds them!
Triad fic - Development of Theo/Draco/Hermione during eighth year with flashbacks to a Harry/Ron/Hermione romantic triad while they're on the run
Slave fic - Bellatrix used a spell on Hermione to make her a slave to the house of Black. When Draco figures this out during eighth year, things get a little dark.
Commissioned fics - Now, this isn't a thing that I usually do, but ArizonaiceT666 reached out and asked me to write a multi-chapter story and I said I would, but we'll see when I actually get to it. We also talked about me writing a story based on "Hermione's Normal Day" and that flowed really easily - I am about halfway done with that two-chapter story, and it is juicy and dark.
Oh, right and the Slytherin Toy sequel - I've got bits and pieces on this one but will have to seriously sit down and write this soon or it will probably never get done ...
It's funny now that I've listed them out - most of them are my takes on different tropes. (That list doesn't include the dozen other Word docs that never went anywhere ...)
You see, I am trying to learn from my mistakes and actually finish my stories before I start posting. And this is why it is a slog for me to post on 100 and NYE (which, at this point, probably won't be updated until it's actually NYE again - whoops).
I have so many stories in my head and they don't always want to come out on schedule. It's like story ADHD, bouncing around from story to story and not getting anywhere on any of them. NaNoWriMo is coming up and hopefully I will be able to focus on something in November - the question is, though ... what story will I focus on next? And ... can I even focus?

Reading the room
Just a quick note to say ... today – or maybe the next few days or week – is not the time to post a noncon story. I’ve had the next chapter of The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish pretty ready to go and was thinking that I would post today but with Roe v Wade being overturned in the U.S. ... I feel much more inspired to write an AU where Hermione takes down all the Slytherins in a gore-filled, fiery fit of rage. We’ll see which story comes out first :)

Bang my head against the wall
I’ve written 3+ versions of the next chapter of The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish and I just can’t seem to get it right. It’s frustrating when you struggle with a chapter that isn’t even a monumental one. What also sucks is that I put off updating the story for a while and now it’s been almost two months! I am getting anxious to finish it like I was when finishing Smutbook. Even though ... there will likely be a sequel to Toy. But let’s just take it one step at a time!
Because of my issues on Toy, I haven’t had much space in my brain yet for The Curse of 100. I’ve been dabbling a bit on the next chapter and just hope to have something by the end of the month. I’m still debating whether to make 100 or Toy (or something new) my Camp NaNo project for July.
I’m a total liar who lies when it comes to my Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. story, New Year’s Eve Wedding Week. I totally planned on rewatching some episodes to get me in the mood and then I just ... didn’t. Still TBD on the updates for that one! I just definitely won’t post again until I have the last two chapters finalized.

Draco Malfoy, The Enchanted Smutbook
Chapter 19 of The Enchanted Smutbook is up now!! It’s been harder to write the final three chapters than I thought. I have a lot to pack in with Chapter 20 since 21 is actually more of an epilogue. I might end up adding one more chapter – we’ll see. I re-read the story twice through and made some edits throughout. In re-reading I felt like the whole story would have been a lot more cohesive and a lot better if I didn't write it piecemeal over a long period of time without a beta reader. At this point, it is what it is :)
Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish is similar in that it is noticeably not well thought through when I re-read it. At a certain point it jumps choppily into an entirely different type of story. Whoopsies. But unlike Smutbook, it has an alpha/beta reader now and is much better for it. I haven’t touched this in a while though as Smutbook has been my main focus.
Speaking of not touching something in a while, The Curse of 100 fell off a few months ago and I am really hoping to get back to it this month ... but I make no promises.
Same with New Year’s Eve Wedding Week over in the Agents of SHIELD fandom. In an ideal world, I’d have it finished before the next holiday rolls around ... but since Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching, it seems unlikely.
And I also had hopes of updating Breed like 20,000 hits ago. That one just keeps climbing and I want to add to that story to reward all the readers and what I suspect are many repeat readers. One of these days, I will get to it ...

Well I didn’t even realize I hadn’t updated on here in a while because I have been busy writing – but apparently not posting anything onto Ao3! I finished The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish a couple of weeks ago and have been slowly releasing the final chapters. It feels good to finally have it out of my brain ... but ... there’s the sequel I want to write, too ...
So you’d think I would be spending lots of time on my other Dramione WIP The Curse of 100 or finally finishing up my Biospecialist fic New Year’s Eve Wedding Week ... Apologies to those patient readers, because I am knee deep in a brand new story that I am focusing on for Camp NaNo this month. I also took a little detour this week to work on a gift fic for my alpha/beta on Toy who has been sick.
The inspiration strikes when it strikes, but I’m hoping to post more soon!

Fooling myself
I realized this week that I’ve been working on The Enchanted Smutbook since September. How that time flew by without me finishing the story already is a mystery. I know I went into it with good intentions. There were times I thought, I’ll definitely have this finished soon. I’ve been inspired at times, and very much uninspired at others. I swing wildly on whether I think it’s a good story ... or merely cobbled together nonsense. Now there are three chapters left, and I can see the end. It’s exciting but also ... I put so much time into the story! And now it’s just going to be over?? I can’t win against myself apparently ...
Not to mention all the other WIPs I convinced myself I’d finish quickly:
The Curse of 100 poured out of me one lazy Saturday and suddenly I had 6,000 words of a brand new story. I’ve since had to put that one on hold since I completely lost focus. I started it just after I started Smutbook, and never would have thought I’d still be working on it a baby-gestating amount of time later. It became daunting once I mapped it out to 38 chapters; I’ve been stuck on chapter 14 since mid-February. It’s going to take probably at least as long to finish, so that puts us at ... January 2023. Yeah ... daunting.
I wrote The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish for NaNoWriMo 2021 and totally thought I would have it fully posted by New Year’s Eve. LOL! I also knew that I had to pretty much rewrite it since I was solely focused on getting 50,000 words and the story had gone off in the wrong direction. Another way I completely fooled myself ... sigh ... Though I did post a new chapter today! And there are only 6 chapters left. And I have help from FidgetScribbles. Not as daunting at least.
And let’s not forget about my New Year’s Eve story which ... it’s now basically May and I’m not even close to finishing it. Sincere apologies to anyone who I fooled into thinking New Year’s Eve Wedding Week would be finished in a timely manner. Still no ETA on this one, unfortunately.
And what got me thinking about all this is that I signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo confidently thinking getting 30,000 words this month was a breeze. Well, it’s the evening of the last day and ... I have 7,000 more words to write. Somehow though ... I just might fool myself into making the attempt.

Warning: Low battery
Guess what? I managed to get in all those words for Camp NaNo!! (It was past midnight when I finished, but it was before I went to bed so ... that counts right?)
Unfortunately, in the attempt, I seemingly depleted all of my creativity – I had writer’s block all last week. Whoopsies. The only thing I managed to add words to is an A/B/O story I am still developing.
So ... here’s hoping this week goes a bit better and I have another chapter of something ready soon!

Will this line make the cut as the next chapter of The Enchanted Smutbook goes into the editing stage? Maybe, maybe not. Just know that I’m feeling good about what I’ve written and hope to post either tomorrow or this weekend!
I’m also about halfway through Chapter 17 of The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish. Look for an update on that sometime next week - probably later in the week, if we’re being realistic.
I’m still procrastinating on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week, and I’m so relieved I put The Curse of 100 on hiatus. I see the end in sight for Smutbook and once that’s done, I can refocus on 100. Fingers crossed!

I finally, finally get to claim my newest story, 262 Days, written for HP Call Me Daddy Fest 2022!!! I couldn’t have done it without @f1dget-scribbles helping me every step of the way - thank you so much!
This took up a solid 2-4 weeks of my time. It’s hard to say because even after I posted it and was waiting for it to be “revealed,” we changed the ending a couple of times.
Now I’m truly back to focusing on my other stories! Here are my updates:
I’m still trying to finish up Enchanted Smutbook. I just posted Chapter 16, Draco’s POV. I spent a good week editing the chapter so I hope it is as satisfying as we all want it to be :)
Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish is supposed to get a new chapter in March. I want to do it! I just ... haven’t ... yet. It’s not looking that promising right now, especially since I will need Fidget’s help to make it worth the wait. I will let you know!
New Year’s Eve Wedding Week ... has totally slipped through the cracks. I hate that it is so many holidays overdue at this point. I’ll just have to get to it when I get to it at this point.
The Curse of 100 is still last on the list right now unfortunately. If I get some inspiration I might take a crack at it again soon. I had a reader comment about Cormac and I have been thinking about making him the bartender I previously posted about casting. I would bet people would rather read about a character they recognize than someone I make up :)

Wish: granted
I think I’ve cracked The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish and it feels SO GOOD!! I’ve been banging my head against the wall since I posted Chapter 11, not sure if I was going in the right direction. Well, I’ve made it work and I am feeling back on track. Chapters 13 and 14 are now in editing stages and I will post them ASAP! Chapter 13 was going to be in Draco’s perspective but it flows better to make his POV Chapter 14. I could probably have done better if I had an editor (beta? alpha?), but I can’t be fussed to get anyone else’s opinions at this point. It is what it is and at least I like it!
My other Chapter 13s:
I’ve only written a tiny bit for The Curse of 100, and that was after getting a nice comment about it tonight :)
I haven’t touched Enchanted Smutbook’s next chapter, but I’ve had bits and pieces written for a while so it shouldn’t require too much - just motivation.
This weekend, I also made progress on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week but I’ve been thinking I need to go back and re-read the full series to make sure I’m not missing anything. I apparently lack the attention span to sit down and read my own work for hours, so it’s been slow-going.

The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish is back from hiatus! I have a road to the end now and thank goodness for @f1dget-scribbles‘ help. I’ve had plenty of time to write this weekend but I haven’t felt inspired to jump into any of my WIPs. I’m not sure which one will be updated next:
I was wanting to get The Enchanted Smutbook finished first but I might be going back and forth with that and Toy. I had a lot of great reader comments for the last couple of chapters and that always helps me keep going!
I tried to work on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week today but I couldn’t get inspired at all. I keep going back and forth on what is going to happen with AIDA. I can’t decide if I want AIDA to get a body again or not. Hopefully I can wrap that one up soon though - it has dragged on long enough!
My poor The Curse of 100 readers must think I’ve dropped off the face of the earth. This one is harder to jump back into because the chapter count is very intimidating. I thought about working on this one as my Camp NaNoWriMo but I’d rather focus on finalizing the other stories since they are closer and then putting all my focus on 100? We’ll see ...

I was talking to @f1dget-scribbles about writing fanfiction, saying I’m not sure I really enjoy it. Fidget came back with that quote, and it rings true. I feel more like I get these ideas and I want to make them come to life. There is joy in writing a story, but it’s also work! It was nice to hear that what I’m doing is ART. I’ve never thought that before. It’s kind of nice.
Weekly update:
Tonight, I posted TWO new chapters of Enchanted Smutbook. I am focusing on this story so I can finish it by the end of the month - fingers crossed!
Next I will be going back to Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish. I said I would be back in March so I am committed to making that happen.
At some point, I will be finishing New Year’s Eve Wedding Week! I have a lot to write for the last two chapters. One will be in the POV of Tripp and the last will be the actual wedding. I’ve dragged this out so long - I know! I’m so sorry!
The Curse of 100 is unfortunately at the bottom of my list right now. But when I get back to it, I will go HARD. I promise!!

Call me ... busy
The deadline for Call Me Daddy fest is next Sunday, so I’m trying to get my entry wrapped up this week. It’s hilarious I thought I would finish it earlier than exactly when it’s due. That’s basically what I’ve done on my Biospecialist holiday series - the day before the holiday, I really get to work haha
When I signed up for the fest, I quickly banged out the first half of the story and wasn’t sure where it would go from there. Then I didn’t look at it again for about a month. I’m excited because in diving into the second half, I thought of a fun structure. There’s going to be an interesting way of showing the progression of time, and the halves are divided into Draco and Hermione’s perspectives. The fest is all about breeding kink, but this won’t be very “fun” ... more like incredibly dark. But if you’ve ever looked through my works, you know I like to mix it up.
Other updates:
I’m still on hold with The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish and I wish I made it more vague on when I would circle back. I said March 1st-ish and that is very unlikely. It will probably be more like mid-March.
I’ve been making more progress on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week! Chapters 6 and 7 will be heavy lifts, but I know it’s getting ridiculous how long I’ve dragged this one out so I’d like to knock it out and off my list very soon.
I also want to knock out The Enchanted Smutbook. I thought Chapters 13 and 14 would be super easy because I already wrote chunks of them early on, but for some reason I’ve been dragging my feet. Ugh. It’ll get there eventually but I’d really love to have a long WIP off my plate! The next chapter is Snape and I think I just need to get in the write mood for it - heh.
I love the readers on The Curse of 100!! I’ve been getting a lot of really nice comments on that one this week in particular, so I got started on Chapter 14 even though this story is now kind of low on the priorities list. I’ve known that after Shell Cottage, Hermione is going straight to a bar, where she will end up hooking up with someone. I thought for a while it would be a muggle bar or that she would change her appearance, but I’ve now decided she’s going to have a one night stand with the bartender at The White Dragon in Tinworth. In casting this new character, I wanted to have more diversity versus a slew of white guys. I looked for inspiration for an Indian charcter, but ended up finding Charles Melton and just thinking ... hot damn! So behold, hot bartender:

Calling it
I realized today that it’s April 12, and the last time I updated The Curse of 100 was February 12. Oops? What can I say, time flies! I decided without hesitation to put a note in the description that the story is on hiatus until May. That way I can stop looking at it all the time and whispering to myself “I need to update that.”
Speaking of needing to update ... I still haven’t made much progress on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week. Sorry to my Biospecialist shippers! I should probably do an AoS rewatch on Disney+ to jumpstart that story.
So that’s the bad news ... are you ready for some good news?
I am super pumped to post Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish this week!! I think this next chapter is *chef’s kiss.* Am I allowed to say that about my own story? Well if there was ever a time for it, it’s Chapter 16. I hope you’ll agree with me. It was a really easy one to write and sometimes that makes me nervous.
I also posted on Enchanted Smutbook this week! It’s been a long road to get to this point in the story and it’s not going in the exact direction I planned but I’ve been really excited updating that one, too! Also, a very kind reader posted a recommendation for Smutbook on a Dramione Facebook group and I thought that was really neat ☺️

Working for the weekend
I’ve seen it time and again on AO3. The writer will take something like two years to finish a story. About halfway through, the new chapters are uploaded more and more sporadically. There are notes at the beginning like: “Sorry guys, work has gotten crazy! I’ll try to post when I can.”
Well, that is me right now! My job has gotten so crazy since the start of the new year and I have a lot less time to write. I used to have a lot of downtime during the work day (WFH) ever since the pandemic started, which is why I got back into writing and have posted pretty often and consistently. Lately, that’s basically out the window!
I got a new position and I feel like I now have no time. At the end of my longer workdays, I just don’t have the mental energy – even though writing is also a great escape and can be relaxing to a degree. I had Chapter 13s of Enchanted Smutbook and The Curse of 100 in really good shape by Tuesday this past week but really didn’t have a chance to look at 100 again until I posted Saturday. I truly thought I was going to have heaps of time this month with putting Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish on hold. Ugh.
Not to mention how much I’ve dropped the ball on New Year’s Eve Wedding Week. (Pun not even intended!) A week ago, I was thinking I definitely wanted to have that one finished by the next big holiday - Valentine’s Day. Well, that’s tomorrow so ... not likely. I’m hoping to post one chapter tonight though! We’ll see.
I just feel like I GET IT now! I get what those other writers were dealing with. If I’m not feeling inspired, sitting down to write can feel a bit like work – and I’m doing enough of that. But having a WIP makes me feel like I owe it to my readers to continue, or give them all of my excuses. It’s strange because, being an avid reader as well, I’m just like, “eh, get to it when you can. I don’t need to know your whole life story.” LOL
The biggest reason I want to keep posting to these stories though is to finish them. Because I have soooo many more I want to write! For Dramione, I have a soulmate AU, a few triad ideas, another master/slave story, a memory altered story, a muggle AU. For Biospecialist, I have a backlog of one-shots and more holidays to get through.
Where am I going to find the time though? I’ve gotten so much joy from fanfiction over the past year and a half, and I don’t want to give it up! It’s just ... life, man. I’m going to keep trying but I know I at least won’t do 4 WIPs again. That is for sure!

I found this Malfoy family tree online. I have no idea where it came from, but it’s what I’m using for “The Slytherin Toy’s Christmas Wish.” Thank you to whoever made it!
EXCEPT. In my head canon, wizards can live longer than 100 years. So Abraxas’ journal referenced in Chapter 14 would have been written before he was born according to this. I’m not going to get specific about years and such because ... math ... but the Abraxas/Nicholas stuff would have happened in the late 1700s.
Chapter 14 is my last chapter for this story for the month. I cannot believe it is already Feb. 11 because I still have so much I want to do before I dive back in. I’m very excited to be working with an alpha/beta for the rest of the story, too! Look for more in March.
