What are your thoughts on competitive skiing?
I’m too asexual and poor for that.
I’m totally into it in the virtual world, though, but only if there’s a yeti

WAIT WAIT WAIT, I was searching for Skyrim on AO3 just to browse some other people's works and I accidentally typed "Ski" instead of "Sky" and I shit you not, there are TWO works from the SkiFree fandom.

what's your opinion on SHENZEN I/O? Same as TIS-100? I found the former to be more approachable than the latter
I like it a bit more, because of the electronics layout element. Honestly I was disappointed that it had programming parts, I'd be happier if it was just like static components and wires. That could be a fun puzzle game all on its own.
But frankly, the Complex Feelings I have about TIS-100 are that it's a very neat idea for a puzzle game, I like how they implemented it, and it is 100% not the game for me.
And it's because I'm a retrocomputerist and reverse engineer! Staring at and writing assembly language is what I already do for fun. Playing TIS-100 just makes me go "hmm, I should get back to reverse engineering SkiFree, I nearly finished that" and "I wonder if generating x86 assembly for some of the more complex flags would compress better than the crabs method?" and it takes me out of it.
Good game, but it's too real for me

Skifree Yeti (Abominable Snowman) by Mast3r-Rainb0w
If you remember this guy, you're a REAL OG, and you deserve a veteran's award, you old fart!
SkiFree was just one of the games I used to play the crap out of as a kid. I enjoyed the game very much, but I sucked at it because I'd always end up getting eaten by the damn yeti almost EVERY TIME he'd show up on screen.
Regardless of my love-hate relationship with the game, it is still an undeniable cult classic. I loved it more than I hated it! Truly a reminder of simpler times. Enjoy the fanart!
