hi Shels! I’ve been trying to get into MotoGP and I have some questions so I thought I’d take you up on the offer to answer some.
1) how does quali work? Because it seems like Q2 is predetermined?
2) do the have intermediate tires?
3) what’s with all the pit boards? Is that their only communication with their team?
4) can you please just…. What is Marc Marquez.
Firstly, thanks for the questions! I'm more than happy to answer any questions anyone has about MotoGP. I actually grew up watching it and I know much more about it than I do F1, so if anyone wants to understand it better, let me know!!
1.. So quali is very different in Motogp than it is in F1. Firstly, the practice sessions count for something. Firstly, there's only a Q1 and a Q2, no Q3. So basically, the fastest 10 riders from the practice sessions immediately get into Q2. The rider's fastest lap out of all the practice sessions is what counts towards this. The other 12 riders who didnt get into Q2 have to ride in Q1. The top two riders from Q1 get into Q2 and then those 12 (the 2 from Q1 and the 10 who got there from practice) compete for pole in Q2.
2.. They don't have intermediate tires. Tires in Motogp are kinda wild and to be honest I know a bit too much about them but I'll keep this short: instead of having intermediate and wets, they have hard, soft and medium wet tires.
3.. PIT BOARDS!! I LOVE PIT BOARDS!! Firstly, Motogp riders have no radio communication with their teams. They have small dash cams on their bikes where the teams can display short messages, like if a rider has crashed or if there's a yellow flag, but the main form of communication is just the pinboard. Each rider has their own one and they're all hang over the main straight as the rider goes past. And this means the riders have no way to communicate with their teams. Their teams can communicate with them, but they have no way to speak to their teams. They just... get on and zoom.
4.. this question made me laugh out loud, mostly because you really think I know?? No one knows. Not even Marc. The man has 8 world titles, a not functioning arm, at least 89 injuries, a face sculpted by the greek gods and a bike that doubles as a vespa.

i have actually been a motogp fan for a LOOOOOOOOONG long time. i was raised as a valentino rossi fan 🫡 i just took a break from it and came back recently but....... enea is my new target........ and i am not afraid to mix enea and charles into one ask............. italian pride......... orgoglio italiano...........

Personally I see most of the riders as omegas actually? I definitely think that Fabio and Marc are both omegas. Fabio is a very chaotic omega who just wants to be some alpha's stereotypical sweet omega but he's... pure chaos and can't make a nest to save his life. Marc, meanwhile, knows exactly how desirably he is and uses that for evil even though he only has eyes for his alpha.

For Moto3, i dont have too much of an opinion about who I support because honestly I just enjoy watching the pure unhinged lads race but I am a die hard KTM stan so if there's a KTM in the leading group I'll always go for them.
Then for Moto2, I love Aaron Canet and as a fabio fan I am forced to support Tony. But for the championship I'm going for Acosta. Oh and I love the VR46 Riders Academy boys so I'll always cheer Cele on as well even though he has the worst luck. Oh and Darryn Binder because I'm South African so I have to support him.
As for MotoGP, I'm a Fabio and Brad fan first and a human being second. I would die for those lads. But sadly the Ducati's are fucking rockets so for the championship I'm cheering for Marco (I fucking love that little guy) or Enea (because I love chaos). I also really really hope Aleix can catch a break one day though I don't like Aprillia. Oh and I support Marc simply because my dad doesn't like him and I enjoy his war crimes.
As for F1, Max. I love Max. I obviously also love Charles and Esteban and Pierre, but mostly Max. Mick was my favourite when he was driving.
