This book becomes, for some, a family heirloom.  It's been that important to that many women--it is often passed down generations.  Yes, this is from someone I knew.  It is in the condition that a book this age is usually found in.  It's been read; more than once.  There are a few dog ears, that I chose not to unfold, out of respect for this book and it's importance to Feminism and American History.  Pages are yellowing, it's signed & dedicated in the front (see pics), and the cover's a bit worn.  But NO writing or underlining.  No bad damage anywhere, no watermarks.  

THIS IS THE 1979 REVISED AND EXPANDED EDITION (NOT THE 1976, WHICH EBAY SEEMS TO THINK IT IS).  The ISBN# 0671221469.  A BOOK BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN BY THE BOSTON WOMEN'S HEALTH BOOK COLLECTION.

I first read this book when I was a volunteer at a crisis line in upstate New York back in the '70s. The opinions expressed and issues debated in it are the same as they are now. We need to do everything we can to make sure that women, LBGTQ and all minorities are not second-class citizens. This is America, where anyone, regardless of their age, gender, heritage, color or sexual orientation has a right to be free and happy in a true democracy. This book is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.

GOLD IS WEARING THIN AT THE PETAL TOPS.  BUT THE WEAR IS PRETTY EVEN ALL AROUND--THERE IS NOT A REALLY BAD SPOT.  I DON'T THINK IT WAS AN EXTREMELY THICK LAYER TO BEGIN WITH.  SHINES BEAUTIFULLY IN THE LIGHT. 

THE CENTER OF THE BASE IS SLIGHTLY CONCAVE, SO THE BASE IS NOT SCRATCHED AND MARKED UP LIKE YOU MIGHT EXPECT.  JUST A LITTLE WEAR WHERE THE BOWL DOES TOUCH THE GROUND.

THE SUNRAY PATTERN IS PERFECT AND EXOTIC.  ACCENTED BY PETALS IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS BLOOMING.

THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY OLD PIECE, MAYBE EARLY AMERICAN ANTIQUE.  THAT IS MY BEST GUESS.
