Yuecheng (aka King) is a chinese synth developed by Shanghai Wangcheng in collaboration with Chengdu Yuefang Cultural Broadcast Co., and announced as a private synth on 30 apr 2018, his character birthday is 28 jul though. he is voiced by Nuochen, and illustrated by CleverCool. yuecheng's vp was chosen through audition and voting. he is originally a character from the manhua "The Manhua Artist and The Idol: Yuerong and Yuecheng", published by NetEase Comics. in sep 2015, a song called "Love Lock" was produced for the character by CleverCool, Zhixiaoai, and Huduoduo. in the manhua, this is the song that allowed yuecheng to become an idol. though the vocalist was a live singer, it is credited as being sung by yuecheng. yuecheng was available as a private synth from 28 jul 2018, to 12 jun 2020. producers who wanted to use yuecheng had to agree to a contract before getting to do so. yuecheng is 19yo and 180cm tall.
Khylin is a korean synth developed by TGENS Co., Ltd. (i think), and released on 18 sep 2012, though her character birthday is 28 jul. she is voiced by Hyo Bae Park, and illustrated by Yeon. khylin is 16yo. she came with every version of vocalina 2.0, but was only available for free in version 2.3.2. she could be purchased through a subscription.

Most of the bamboo slips from Bochu Bamboo Slips are based on mathematical probability.
Most of the bamboo slips from Bochu Bamboo Slips are based on mathematical probability.
Before 1994, a number of ancient bamboo slips appeared in the Hong Kong heritage market. At the time, Hong Kong scholar Rao Zongyi had bought a small portion, but the quantity was unknown. Later, a Hong Kong cultural relics appraiser identified only ten bamboo slips from the Qin Chu period. Later, Zhang Guangyu, a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, went to Ma Chengyuan, the dean of the Shanghai Museum, to see if he could pay for all the batches of ancient bamboo slips on the Hong Kong cultural relics market. Sure enough, Shangbo bought all the huge sums of money in 1994, so is the so-called Shangbo Jian. But it's not over yet, and then the Hong Kong cultural relics market continued to make pre-Qin ancient bamboo slips. At this time someone in Hong Kong (Zhu Changyan, Dong Mujie) bought it and gave it to Shanghai Expo.
I now calculate it purely from mathematical probability. At that time, Rao Zongyi only bought one of them, but the appraiser in Hong Kong believed that only ten of them were real Qin Chu bamboo slips. And how much Mr. Rao bought. Only ten of them are true, so if they are called a batch, then there should be at least twenty, otherwise there are ten really simple Jane, and Mr. Rao bought more than ten, then the conclusion should be called most Jane. But no, so there must be more pseudo-simple than real. In other words, more than half of the so-called pre-Qin Chu bamboo slips bought by Mr. Rao in the Hong Kong cultural relic market that day were found to be fakes.
But the rest are all entered into the blog, then according to mathematical probability calculations, more than half of the samples are false (or most of them are fake bamboo slips). Most of the products bought by Shanghai Expo are pseudo-Qin Chu bamboo slips. This is a fairly simple mathematical probability calculation. Those who engage in cultural relics should at least have graduated from college, and they should have read mathematical probabilities. You see, even if you do n’t look at the so-called evidence that Bo Wei did n’t come up with, then more than half of them are pseudo-Qin Chu bamboo slips. Based on mathematical probabilities, it ’s almost cautious and carefully quoted for research. So as not to become an accomplice in spreading pseudoscience.
Nine volumes of the Bamboo Slips of Shanghai Expo have been published so far, published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, all of which are listed. Scholars should be suspicious, and don't be fooled until Shanghai Expo has enough evidence to be credible. However, before quoting Ru Lin's works and theses written from these bamboo slips, before determining which ones are from them, they are all futile works of no academic value, or they will damage personal academic reputation in the future. Be careful! In particular, the works of Li Xueqin, Yang Chaoming, Liao Mingchun, etc. who are out of the doubtful ancient times, should be cautiously inferred from the academic ancient history made by Bojian! (Liu Youheng, 2019.11.27 in Taipei) —————————————————————————— The first volume, published in November 2001, includes three articles, "Confucius' Poetics", "Yi Yi", and "Temperament Theory". The second volume, published in December 2002, includes 6 "Parents of the People", "Zi Lao", "Lupang Drought", "Politics", "Old Monarch", and "Rong Chengshi". The third volume, published in December 2003, includes four articles: Zhouyi, Hengxian, Zhonggong, and Peng Zu. The fourth volume, published in December 2004, includes "Collected Winds", "Essay Poems", "The King of Cambodia Persuaded by Drought", "King Zhao Destroyed the Room", "Inner Concubine", "The Way of Xiangbang", and "Cao Mo Chen" 7 Articles. The fifth volume, published in December 2005, includes "In Competition for Construction", "Uncle Baoya and the Puppet Friend", "Ji Gengzi Asking Confucius", "Gucheng's Father", "Gentleman as a Gift", "Disciple Asking", "Three virtues", "Ghost and God Ming Rongshi Youcheng" 8 articles. The sixth volume, published in July 2007, includes "Public Malaria," "Confucius Meets the Seasonal Xunzi," "Zhuang Wangcheng Cheng, Shen Gongchen Spirit King," "Ping King Asks Zheng Shou," "Ping King and Prince Wood," and "Shinko Said Gongjian "," Yongyue "," Tianzi Jianzhou "(a copy)," Tianzi Jianzhou "(a copy). The seventh volume, published in December 2008, includes five articles, "The King of the Martial Arts Practices", "The Funeral of the Zhengzi Family", "Why the Kings Are Safe", "The Form of Logistics", and "Wu Ming". Zhang Chuchu's voicebank has been preserved and uploaded on the Internet Archive (though due to the discontinuation of her serial codes, she can only be used as a trial).
Her voicebank is installed under the name "Carenna Crystal." This name is used for an apparently identical sounding Chinese VOCALOID5 voicebank that remains unreleased, and never officially announced.

happy birthday Yao Luniang(vocaloid 4), Laru Mine(utau), and Meiji Gahata(utau) !!!! [aug 8]
Tumblr media
luniang
Tumblr media
laru (parse design)
Tumblr media
meiji
Yao Luniang was a potential chinese synth developed by Shanghai Wangcheng Information Technology Co. Ltd. in collaboration with NetEase Comics. no new information about her production has been released since 2017 so shes assumed cancelled. her vp and illustrator have not been revealed. luniang is (was ?) NetEase Comics' mascot from 2015, as such she featured in 2 manhua, "Lùniáng Days" and "Suísuíbiànbiàn de Yāolùshān Rìcháng". she likes anime, furry things, and esports. in 2018 netease sold their comic branch to bilibili, so luniang disappeared. she would likely have been a private vocaloid if she was ever released, though this wasnt confirmed. luniang originally had purple hair which changed to red in late 2015, along with changes in her outfit. in 2016 she again changed appearance, most notably her skirt went from red to black. luniang is forever 15 and 163cm tall.
Laru Mine is a japanese synth released in 2010. hes voiced by minato/ winder. i assume laru was mainly drawn by minato as well (??), but i couldnt find that written anywhere. laru is 21yo and 203cm tall. he has no official personality. he is a dragon shark hybrid.
Gahata Meiji is a japanese synth released in 2012. shes created and voiced by Saccu, and illustrated by Souno Kazuki. meiji was also the mascot of the Lifulu shop/ Riffle Shuffle, as such, when saccu cut ties with the shop meiji was discontinued (11 nov 2019). this was POSSIBLY due to the shop maybe misusing meiji or violating her tos. meiji is 16yo and 170cm tall.

All About Private Vocaloids!
a while ago i made a post about canceled vocaloids. this is a sort of sequel post about some private vocaloids. often these vocaloids are made and given only to exclusive users, eventually expiring or being retired. when it comes to abandoned vocaloids, private vocaloids and vocaloids that were never completed/released tend to be grouped together.
all information and images are from the vocaloid wiki unless stated otherwise.
the vocaloids discussed in this post are:
Kobayashi Matcha and Masaoka Azuki
Akikoloid-chan
Ueki-loid
Anri Rune
hide
Zhang Chuchu and Yuecheng
Kobayashi Matcha and Masaoka Azuki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Engine: VOCALOID2
Language: Japanese
Company: SEGA in collaboration with YAMAHA
Status: Retired; replaced with public VOCALOID4 voicebanks
They were made for use in Project 575, a multimedia franchise including several games and a series of 5 short anime episodes.
Specifically, the games Utayomi 575 and Uta Kumi 575 used the VOCALOID2 engine to synthesize their vocals in real time.
Their private use made them notable targets of piracy. Their voicebanks were cracked by extracting the voicebank data from Utayomi 575 and making them usable for VOCALOID2.
In 2017, they received VOCALOID4 updates and are now commercially available under the names MATCHA and AZUKI. These are the first private vocals to be made public, although their original VOCALOID2 voicebanks are still legally unobtainable.
Akikoloid-chan
Tumblr media
Engine: VOCALOID3
Language: Japanese
Company: Lawson, Inc.
Status: Retired
Akikoloid-chan is a VOCALOID derivative of Akiko-chan, the new mascot for Lawson in 2011.
Lawson was the only group with the license to use her. She was used as a mascot on the Lawson Nico Nico Douga channel to help promote Lawson.
Akikoloid-chan is no longer used for music. However, Lawson still owns her character.
The mascot she originated from, Akiko-chan, is now a VTuber on the Lawson YouTube channel.
Ueki-loid
Tumblr media
Engine: VOCALOID3
Language: Japanese
Company: Music Airport Inc.
Status: Unknown; possibly abandoned
This is the first use of VOCALOID that is an attempt to "revive" a deceased singer by emulating their vocals. The singer in question is Hitoshi Ueki, who passed away in 2007.
The voicebank was made by first recording the vocals of Hitoshi Ueki's oldest son, Hiro Kouichi. Then, they studied the differences between his and his father's voice, and edited the recordings to match Hitoshi Ueki's tone.
Only a few demos have been made for Ueki-loid. An album of songs was planned, but has never been released and has received no news since 2012.
It's possible that Ueki-loid was simply a test for the technology of reviving deceased singers' voices.
Anri Rune
Tumblr media
Engine: VOCALOID3
Language: Japanese
Company: Fuji TV
Status: Retired
Anri Rune was originally a newscaster character on Fuji TV. Her career as a newscaster was short-lived, as she failed to bring in enough ratings to satisfy the network, and so she was retired.
In 2013, Anri Rune was repurposed as a VOCALOID mascot. She was given a new appearance and biographical information. She was also given a demo song by producer Kikuo, titled Hallelujah Super Idol.
After her single demo, there was no news on Rune's status. In response to a fan, Kikuo did not know her current status. YAMAHA also stated that Rune was never intended as a commercial product.
In May 2015, about 2 years after her debut, Fuji TV confirmed that Rune was retired and no products with her were planned.
"hide"
Tumblr media
Engine: VOCALOID3
Language: Japanese
Company: Headwax Organization Co., Ltd.
Status: Unknown
Another attempt to "revive" a deceased singer, this time basing the vocal off of Matsumoto Hideto, better known as hide, the lead guitarist of rock band X-Japan who passed away in 1998.
Unlike Ueki-loid, samples were taken directly from recordings of hide's voice, not from any relatives.
The voicebank was used in the album Co Gal, which began production in 1998. hide was unable to complete the album before his death; the VOCALOID voicebank was used to complete the album with his voice.
The album was then released in December 2014. Fans remarked that the voice was unmistakably reminiscent of hide.
Due to using hide's voice, he is credited as the singer of all the songs in the Co Gal album despite the use of VOCALOID. Because of this, the actual name of the software itself is unknown, and is usually simply also referred to as "hide."
The status of this voicebank is unknown; it has not had any known usage since Co Gal.
Zhang Chuchu and Yuecheng (King)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(sorry chuchu for the crop)
Engine: VOCALOID4
Language: Chinese
Company: Shanghai Wangcheng
Status: Possibly abandoned
Chuchu and Yuecheng both originally appeared as characters in manhua. Chuchu was owned by Migu Comics while Yuecheng was owned by NetEase comics.
Shanghai Wangcheng, who had also worked with Gynoid on Xin Hua, wanted to create business-to-business VOCALOID voicebanks for private use, to turn preexisting characters into virtual idols, and approached these companies with the offer to develop VOCALOID4 voicebanks for their characters.
Both VOCALOIDs' voice providers were contest winners. The voicebanks were complete by April 30, 2018 and continued to be used by their authorized users.
In June 2020, an authorized user of these voicebanks reported that their serial codes had ceased distribution. YAMAHA had ended contracts with Shanghai Wangcheng, and Shanghai Wangcheng has since ceased activity.
This is a similar situation to the discontinuation of Utatane Piko. This does not stop authorized users from using these voicebanks, but no new users can gain access, and if switching computers, they can only be used for a 2 week trial period.
i hope you found this interesting! thanks!

A concept doodle from 2015 exists showing that Yao Luniang was originally designed with purple hair and furry ears.
A later concept shows a version closer to her original design, with a few changes: her eyes are closer to pink, she has a tattoo on her shoulder, and her skirt is a reddish pink color.
