Today marks the start of the next phase of gradual reopening of activities in Singapore. It is a significant step in moving towards a new COVID-safe normal, and I encourage all of us to continue practising good personal hygiene and social responsibility as we go about our small-group gatherings and activities. We have heard some of your concerns about the arts and culture sector; some of us miss being in the theatres and many practitioners would like to get back to working in their studios. It has been challenging in having to assess this evolving situation and after careful deliberation, there will be a progressive resumption of some of our arts and culture activities from today onwards. Starting off with studios for art-making which can be used as workplaces again and most training and professional workshops can resume, subject to safe management measures. Since the start of the month, @nacsingapore has also made available two black box spaces at Goodman Arts Centre and Stamford Arts Centre at highly subsidised rates, with basic recording equipment available for the arts community to digitalise their content so we can enjoy #SGCultureAnywhere.
