Wouldn’t be the first time they pulled something like that with robots like Max Magma, Galaxy Mega, DekaBase Robo, Gosei Ultimate and Bragigas (I don’t really put Orion Battler in this category because Orion started off as a different ship and Turbobuilder was introduced as a mobile combat-ready base from the start, it was practically a mecha to begin with so there was no reveal or conversion into a mecha or robo)

Maybe it will be like FFXIII Alexander and this is his Gestalt Drive mode lol

Quick Shots

One of the late-Heisei Super Sentai seasons, and I must confess - one that I haven't seen. But all of the costume designs and the robots? Incredible.

It's high on my list to watch for that reason alone.

I saw this DX KyurenOh when the show premiered back in 2017 - and I picked it up soon after.

As much as I love them, I'm not usually so quick to buy DX Sentai toys - but this design just knocked me out.

Techy detail all over the figures, those clear plastic orbs, and big chunky proportions - all things that instantly appeal to me.

It's also a "Scramble City" style combiner - a Transformers term for combining robots whose limb pieces can be used for any arm or leg. This gives you a ton of possibilities for different robot configurations. Especially if you have any of the add-on robots - you could even have a whole robot with 4 of the same limb.

It's a great package. A modular robot than disassembles into five robotic animals, Kyutama orbs with interactive elements - and the robot itself cuts an incredible silhouette. Beautifully detailed sculpt, and vibrant colors.

I'm definitely going to keep my eyes out for more of the Kyutama robots. As long as they're on the discount end of pricing, and not collector aftermarket prices.

SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT Super Liveman Robo

In for a penny, in for a pound, I guess. While I was disappointed by the first one due to it omitting the original transformation, if it's going to sit around my room, I might as well make it look as cool as possible. And while it's still a little cheaty cheater boi, I prefer how this one handles its transformation. That's not to say it doesn't have a very large flaw, but it at least looks very cool.

The Good: Land Bison and Sai Fire are bricks, but they don't really need to do anything? They're big vehicles, and that's all they need to be. They also look great.

And Super Liveman Robo is very cool. The main components have very simple, but effective transformations that combine super solidly onto Liveman Robo. It's posability doesn't take any hits in this form, either.

The Bad: Like with the original, there are a lot of large chunk parts that you swap out between modes, but they are mostly larger and easier to keep track of. The only one that really bugs me is the silver chest detail.

The only real issue is there's no Live Boxer. If you're unfamiliar with Liveman, Land Bison and Sai Fire have their own, individual robot mode, but it was omitted here to make Super Liveman Robo better. And while I appreciate the vision, it makes this set just a companion piece; there is absolutely no reason to buy this unless you have the original.

The Details: I only used panel liner on this one, though I did want to use black paint on a few areas. The trouble was, a lot of this kit is already painted to make it worth its premium price point, so I wasn't comfortable using paint on the already painted areas.

Overall, this is a companion piece only, though a nice one if you decide to track it down. It's just a bit better in terms of quality than its companion, and its integration is very solid, though the lack of a Live Boxer mode is very disappointing. Remember, this is a premium piece, so if you see it for [expensive], that's why.

Getter Robo Wannabes

Some random Robots, or maybe Cyborgs? I've had the robot with the pink head crest's design drawn down on paper before I even started posting on Deviantart, I just gave him a few tweaks. The other two are more spur of the moment, but I like how they turned out.

I'm not that good at thinking of names, for now I'm just calling the three "Squid", "Rabbit" and "Penguin". If anyone's got suggestions for names I'd like to hear them!
