Unknown maker Japanese eyedropper fountain pen inscribed Seishi Bosatsu c1930. There are two smaller characters on the bottom that may be the town where a temple (there are dedicated to this bodhisattva) is located. There are numerous such temples. With original Pawlonia wood box that reads on top, Seishi Bosatsu. The seal on the box is that of the artist. Inside cover of the box is name of artist and mark for "made by". Small label mentions something about "Year of The Horse". Seishi Bosatsu is a protector deity of those born during the year of the horse and a provider of strength and wisdom, corresponding to 1930, which with the kamakura bori art work dates the pen to 1930 or near after. The gold plated clip is marked CLIP, indicating a jobbed part, and the number 4 14 karat gold nib is stamped NEWEST POINTED SUPERIOR. Five inches long. Loaned for photos by Stan Klemanowicz.
