Shape of Water is an electronic art rock band formed in 2018 from Manchester, United Kingdom in the grand tradition of projects like Queen, Muse, Depeche Mode, Coldplay, The Killers, and Radiohead. Still, as water has no shape, the band welcomes all listeners into what they refer to as “Genre-Fluid” which translates to “music without boundaries.”

Rox Capriotti and Luca De Falco met in 2004 in their hometown of San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. The first band they formed together was called The Lotus. Over the following few years, the band had various members step in and out on drums and bass guitar; however, Rox and Luca kept the band on track. In 2015, they relocated to Manchester, UK in search of new musical experiences. The band had a short hiatus period and eventually decided to split up. Rox and Luca remained close, writing music together; however, the rest of the band moved on, and after the breakup of The Lotus, Rox and Luca created Shape of Water.

After writing dozens of songs, they carefully selected the best of the best, and started recording new material in early 2018 with producer Paul Reeve (Muse, Beta Band, Supergrass) at Airfield Studios. The band also brought on Sky Van Hoff (Rammstein, Kreator, Caliban) to mix the songs “Scars” and “Not All the Things,” and the drums on the album were performed by Marco Lancs. The result was a ten-song album entitled Great Illusions, which deals mainly with the misconception of human feelings, politics, and society. While shopping the Great Illusions album for a deal, the band independently released their first Single, “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes,” which is a cover of the song by the British rock band, Ultravox. Coincidentally just a few days after its release, they heard back from Eclipse Records who offered the band a deal with the label.

Great Illusions was released in the Summer of 2020 and received critical acclaim from dozens of respected media outlets including (but not limited to) Classic Rock, Metal.de, Punktastic, Sonic Perspective, and Metallized.it, just to name a few. The band was unable to promote it live due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic; however, the duo was able to quickly adapt by live-streaming several performances which were widely received. Shape Of Water also spent time reinventing some of their songs for an early 2021 EP release entitled Lockdown On Mars, which was produced by Paul Reeve (Muse, Supergrass, Beta Band) and mixed by Rox Capriotti. After the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, Shape of Water were finally back to play live in the summer of 2021, and they started producing new songs for the second album, many of them written and recorded at home during the first lockdown, with the exception of the drums and wind instruments. After a careful selection, the duo decided to release a double single for Halloween, containing a new song called “A Ghost In Manchester” and a creepy cover of the 50’s hit, “Mr. Sandman,” originally performed by the Chordettes / Four Aces. The world has been calling for more Shape of Water, and they have answered.

The new album by Shape of Water is titled, Amor Fati, Latin for “Love of Fate,” alluding to Nietzsche and the philosophy of determinism which would imply that destiny is already written and we must embrace the meaninglessness of our free will. Interestingly, the band connected this to their music when the song written last titled “Starchild” (appearing first on the album) gave a lens through which to run a thread back through the broadcloth of the other songs and weave this potent, devastating vision. Furthermore, this aesthetic (and rocking) masterpiece delivers a poignant message about isolation as a swansong, speaking to the awesome potential of humankind as we ironically and tragically blend into one another. We wear masks of balance and hope, yet death makes us dust that slips away in the wind. We create powerful machines and build monuments of hope, but we lose ourselves in the process.

Giddy Wishes From The Bingo Trappers Bingo Trappers (Morc/ About Halloween Time/ Grapefruit/ Unread) (released in 2020)

Bingo Trappers are Waldemar Noë and Wim Elzinga, a duo from Amsterdam who have been recording wonderfully lo-fi catchy songs for 25 years. I only discovered them through my brother when they appeared on his Top 50 Most Played Albums of one of the years of the pandemic. My notes are an absolute mess (a rarity for me) and I can’t even track down any information from 2021 which is when I suspect this album landed on his Top 50.

The reason there are so many labels following the album title and band name is because that is how many labels release their work. Their music is incredibly difficult to come by, so for someone such as myself just coming to their music I’m out of luck. They’ve only had six albums released on vinyl (according to Unread Records’ website) and their last album, Elizabethan saw only 100 copies released in the US! Morc comes from Belgium, About Halloween Time is an Italian label while both Grapefruit and Unread come from the US. Grapefruit is where I bought this copy via bandcamp and that is the label run by Simon Joyner and Ben Goldberg.

Above you see the album cover which is hand silkscreened and makes for a very nice presentation. The second photo is the back of the album cover. Below you will find a copy of the insert that comes with the album. The back side is left blank which is why I have not photographed it.

This is an easy album to play and as I’ve been writing this brief summary (and looking up info about the band) I’ve already heard it twice. Below you will find the labels for the album.

The cover for the album in Italy via the Almost Halloween Time label varies depending on which cover you obtain. That label offers up 60 different hand painted covers, many of which feature Gram Parsons’ infamous suit coat designed by Nudie! Final Post ||

I spent most of yesterday evening and this morning just kind of mentally processing the actual closing of rookies after seven years. Seeing the amazing plans that would have come to fruition makes me a bit sad but also kind of happy that rookies ended where it ended. Thank you to the mods for prolonged effort to keep this rp running as long as it did and I am glad to have been here as long as I was.

I first joined rookies six years ago on the 15th of October, 2014. 2014 and subsequently 2015 had been a chaotic formative years for me. At the time, I was in my third year of college, constantly questioning whether or not I should be doing my degree, watching my parents get divorced in the summer of 2015 and moving out of the house where I’d lived for twelve years. Rookies (at first through Sungjong in October and then through Kevin in March (03.04.2015) and Kris in April (04.29.2015)} was a writing escape and somewhat of a comfort. Over the years at rookies, I have grown, graduated from college with a business degree and ended up completely a different person then I was five years ago.

My writing improved a lot and I can confidently say that it was mostly thanks to Rookies. I had been completely scared off writing after an English teacher bitched at me for my skills but thanks to rookies, I got more confident in my own skills. Sure, there’s been other rps before rookies and at the same time as rookies, but they had never lasted quite as long. Through the years, I have made some incredible friends through rookies and I am glad to have them in my life. You guys are genuinely the best and I’ll always love you. I have no intentions of ghosting any of you and hopefully, we’ll write again together somewhere else.

Now, onto what everyone actually wants: rkmuses future and taking in the ideas and everything set out by Bianca in account, where they would end up?

rkxjongsuk: the trc vocal king, easter bunny, princess diva of youtube fame - formerly rkkevin

I know I always used to say that I wanted him to debut the most since he’s my oldest muse, but in all honesty, he would have never fit in the idol bubble. Going off the ideas set out by Bianca, however, his future would have been pretty satisfying.

He would have ended up staying in TRC (since he had signed his contract for the second time back in may) and debuting as part of the rkmonstax group with the other trc boys in early 2021 (most likely as their main vocalist). Jongsuk would have felt pretty accomplished by this, and had been ready for the idol life. However, he was not ready for the rules and restrictions that would come into play with the group.

he’d always had a kind of laissez faire approach to everything and so the idol life is kind of shocking to him. it wasn’t what he’d fantasized it would be. so, jongsuk would probably become the first member to officially leave the group before their six-year contract would expire citing personal difficulties and mental health issues (three years and a bit after debut)

During those three years with the group, however, he’d make a name for himself as the King of OST. He would have gone on to King of Masked Singer (making it to R2 and shocking everyone with the high note octaves), gone on to be one of the trainers on the Voice of Korea partnering with Dynamic Duo, and make multiple appearances on Immortal Songs (a la Kyuhyun). Simultaneously, he’d also be collabing with idols across companies, most notably fellow former mga 3 contestant Gyeoul of And*Roma and Jiyeon of HEARTZ.

Upon his departure from the group, he moved back to San Francisco and resumed his Youtube life and career. He would still support the rest of the boys, as an international fan and would always buy up a lot of their cds to support and tell his followers to stream. However, being back in his element, Jongsuk would feel a lot more relaxed and a lot more comfortable.

A few months after his return home, he’d gain a collaboration with Smashbox or Morphe for a makeup line and he’d release an eyeshadow palette, two lipsticks and three eyeliners with the branding Smashbox x Stark: Rave on Mad (an homage to his youtube name: starkravingmad). He’d most likely send it in packages to his best friends in Korea. Jongsuk would find success in other fields outside of music and delve into what made his channel tick and what made him the happiest.

Eventually, I think, he would have found love (maybe in the form of another tall actor who was in school 2013 with him) and been a happy youtuber, taking constant new challenges all over the place and always stepping to his own beat.

As for his friends, he would have definitely gone back to Korea for Kangjoon’s eventual wedding and Jiyeon’s eventual wedding as well. The invites to visit him in San Francisco, California would have been extended to all his friends and even in his busy schedule, he’d always find time to show them all around the city that he’d been born. He’d even always be happy to see his former groupmates if they came on tour to California and would always be the first one for the backstage/VIP passes.

rkxrm: the kt chaebol, nsg’s main rapper and actor extraordinaire - formerly rkkris, rkkmh, minhyukxrk

namjoon had always been the unwilling debut, since I honestly never saw him actually debuting before jongsuk and instead, here we are. he’s the established idol.

With NSG’s debut having just happened, he would probably stick around as the rapper before KT began shoving him into acting everywhere. Most likely, would have ended up as leader of another subunit (maybe?) in the future putting that leadership expertise to the good use. After the first two successful comebacks, he would have gone into acting officially with the first main role on a web-drama as Cha Gihyun on A-TEEN.

His charisma would have definitely shined and stolen the screen time since he’s a former actor already. Following initial drama success, he would have tried his hand in modelling and endorsement, with Honda and Skool Looks. He would have gone further in modelling and acting, eventually becoming more known as the actor Kim Namjoon than the rapper of nsg.

He would have had his share of crazy fans (mostly noonas, pretty girls and drama grandmas) and even probably taken the top bias spot for quite a few people when they would have found out his past. Of course, during the course of promotions (I envision this would happen during Regular-Irregular promotions), it come to light that he’s an actual chaebol (he’s never hidden it but netizens think this is a big deal) and the heir to Kim Securities with a former Canadian award winning actress as his mother. It also comes to light the dysfunctional family dynamic that he’d always had with them.

It caused some hardship between him and his family but he had the support of nsg behind him (his ride or die brothers and family) but in the end his family did began treating him a lot better and he eventually gained their support.

He would have stayed with NSG all through their first contract, but probably wouldn’t have renewed and most likely would have either gone to acting agency where he could focus on acting or go back to that chaebol life and actually fully embrace it as a future heir.

In terms of his love life, he would have officially asked Jiyeon to date him at the Halloween party and they would starred in a few dramas side by side (Cinderella and the Four Knights being their first). They would kept secretly dating and eventually after their mutual dating ban was over, would probably reveal it in a cute couple shoot for Ceci or Dazed and Confused (like E Dawn and Hyuna). After Joon would have left NSG (post contract non renewal), he would have probably still kept acting and modelling alongside Jiyeon. NamYeon would have been a lot like the Rain/Kim Taehee acting and visual power couple.

He would have definitely still kept in close touch with the rest of nsg (since they’re like brothers) and even with all his former kt friends, loving the time that he had spent in the company.

rksxngyeol: nova’s artist, the mangaka

sungyeol had been an incredibly refreshing muse to write. he’s always been someone who actually doesn’t want to debut and he just wants to draw. i initially got him because minhyuk (joon) and jongsuk were getting really exhausting.

there’s not much to say about sungyeol’s future. his contract with nova would have expired in november and he would have left the company on his own terms with the two years behind him. he learned a lot during those two years at nova and even realized a lot about himself.

following his contract expiry, he would have asked his boyfriend (myungsoo) to move in with him over christmas with a key in a box attached to a black butler keychain. if the other said yes, then the new year would have kicked off with the duo moving and cooking together and spending time with each other.

sungyeol would have resumed drawing manhwa and mangas, combining his webtoon comic into a more professional looking five volume manga series with the same title. eventually he would have gotten an anime deal again and even a live action deal on his works (if your muse would have wanted to be in the live action of the Princess’s Sword, go for it). That would have propelled his family to actually recognize him as a talent and he would have been reinstated into the family.

This would have led to myungsoo officially meeting Sungyeol’s family. His parents would have loved him to bits and his grandparents would have been iffy on it, but his grandmother would end up dying three years after of heart attack and his grandfather would have followed her a year later of old age.

After having dated Myungsoo for about five years, Sungyeol would have proposed to him and they would have most likely gotten married on the beach while on vacation somewhere warm. (we love a happy ending ;.;) Also, he would have moved into a bigger house and brought Haebin with them so that they could be a cute happy family.

Eventually, he would have come back to work for Nova as a producer and creative direction artist under Wendy as CEO (if that would have happened), and if not, he would have taken over his family’s company despite the lack of education and simply learned on the job. (Can I say that he would have been Myungsoo’s sugar daddy at some point even though they would be married or engaged at this point???)

Thunderchief Drop New Music Video Ahead of Maryland Doom Fest

~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~

I'll never forget the time I met Rik Surly, frontman of Richmond doom-sludge duo THUNDERCHIEF. It was at a now defunct all-ages venue in Eugene, Oregon called The Boreal. In October of 2017, Thunderchief teamed up with Birmingham's Midmourner to do something rare thing for two underground US bands on the other side of the continent: they booked a tour of the Western states.

The guy was, of course, as nice as all get-out, despite looking like Rob Halford's taller, meaner looking older brother. While shaking hands, Rik reached for a pair of Mack's Earplugs, not so much out of courtesy but as a warning. "It's going to get very loud in here," he emphasized in a serious tone. "You're going to need these."

I might have scoffed inwardly, but when Rik turned on and geared up this mismatched wall of amps (large and small, new and old) I knew this was going to be absolutely massive. Let's just say I was thankful for good ear protection. I suppose it can be compared to a performance by SUNN O))) who are legendary for their amplitude (gave me a splitting migraine the first time I saw them). That was in a large, expansive concert hall. This space was in the equivalent of a small gym or an office space, where everyone was on the same cold concrete together. Suffice it to say, that was a moving experience.

Not even the film I shot captured how truly visceral a sound event this was. The good news is you can listen to Thunderchief at the volume of your choice and really appreciate the nuances of their artistry, especially on their forthcoming record, 'Synanthrope' (2021) -- out December 3rd, right on the heels of last year's well-received No Sufferance For Thy Fools.

It's hands down the nastiest doom/sludge record of 2021 and will doubtless find a welcome spot on my end of year HeavyBest list. The beats are vibrant and agressive, the vocals unhinged as fuck, the riffage has a compelling industrial edge, with relevant lyrics about fear and disallusionment ("Living like I wanna die"). Songs range from gritty Southern stoner gems ("Mohasky") and mesmerising doom dirges ("Paw") to some really sick stompers ("King of the Pleistocene") and stormy, crusty sludgers ("Toss Me a Cumb"). The net effect was rather cathartic for me, thanks in no small part to Erik Larson's smooth, powerful drumming.

Synanthrope is really quite good, holding up admirably after multiple listens. It rumbles, man. I'll go one further: this is one of the freshest, gnarliest records since Dopethrone's Demonsmoke, maybe even Dark Foil, and joins Red Beard Wall's recent smoker '3' (2021) in exploring the fringes of rock and metal in our scene.

Today, ahead of their appearance at The Maryland Doom Fest on Halloween night (the band's second time there), we're bringing you this first look 'n' listen to the Thunderchief's new music video, "Vampire State Building." It's a particularly violent cover of anarcho-punk/crust band Rudimentary Peni's "Vampire State Building" from their record, 'Death Church' (1983). We think you'll dig it.

Corey and Oats in…

Scream If You Wanna Have Fun: A 2022 Halloween Spooktacular.

Those who are followers of the previous adventures of Corey and Oats would be no doubt familiar with the 2021 halloween special which was Corey’s first halloween adventure, and now Corey’s about to go on his second adventure. It was October 31st 2022 which meant one thing…our microbial friend and his pretty horsie friend were going to have another halloween adventure. The two were at their house in Nile Road that morning sleeping when Mel woke them up, she informed the two it was time to dress up.

Corey dressed up as a bat and Oats dressed up as a unicorn princess as the duo followed Mel to the bedroom as she pulled out a magical key which she used to transport the three of the to a special area which took them on a path to a Spirit Halloween store. They had been to Spirit Halloween a couple of times before but they also noticed their friends David, Rhys, Kara and Rebecca were there too helping out, sorting out the animatronic display. David had picked himself up that werewolf doll from Home Depot that played the song ‘Macho Man’ and he had shown it to his friends, but a peculiar thing happened as he did as hairs started growing on his hands and he gained a bit of musculature.

“Hey…David, I didn’t know you liked to work out a lot.”

“I don’t, at least not normally…hmmmm.”

David slowly began to gain muscle mass as dark gray fur coated his body and his fingernails lengthened, he grew a little bit in height..as his hands altered and enlarged as did his feet which sported black longer than normal toenails that resembled claws. His jacket turned orange and developed a checkered pattern as he removed his shirt, his blue jeans remained as normal though as his ears slowly stretched out and became pointed as his eyebrows thickened and turned black while his eyes turned yellow, his facial features slowly pushed out into a lupine muzzle as he completed his transformation…turning into a living version of the werewolf doll he had bought. ‘I was worried you were going to become inanimate.’ ‘Don’t you worry, I personally would loathe that if that happened to me.’

Corey found himself turning into a bat-creature as Oats turned into a female version of himself who was a princess. Damon found himself develop black fur on his hands and arms which enlarged as he bulked up, in addition to this he gained a stripey yellowish vest as a pair of cymbals manifested in his hands which he played with as his feet shifted to become like the hand feet of a monkey or an ape as his his pants also changed.

The fur slowly spread all over him before reaching his face, as his eyes glowed an eerie yellow color and his features becoming primate-like and his teeth sharpened, he looked rather a lot like he was a living version of the animatronic version of Monty as his transformation finished, he kept his mind though and was fascinated by what was happening to everyone as he saw Rebecca turning into Evelyn Leech and Rhys turning into Headless Kelp, Corey saw his good friend Tim Burton over by the Beetlejuice section of the story along with Winona Ryder and the two of them got to speak to the ghost of Glenn Shadix, which delighted Oats because Oats was a fan of his and he even sometimes dressed like his characters. Oats was even more delighted when he saw Mel talking to her ghostly friend Robin Wiliams, who was cracking up people in the store with his classic monster impersonations. The ghost of Gilbert Gottfried was also there, messing with some guests in the store by pretending to be Claude Rains in the Invisible Man and also checking out the props and makeup.

“You seem to really love this.”

‘I know I've always been a monster kid!’ Gilbert laughed. Mel put on an Elvira costume and found herself turning into Elvira herself but still keeping her mind, as the group ran around the store having fun. Corey met up with Shorty and had a boxing match with him before going over to Regan Macneil and asking her for her autograph which she gave to him, they played around with Lil Skellibones and Mr Dark. And even got excited when they saw Buzzsaw entering…’I loved you in the movie.’ Oats exclaimed. ‘Thanks.’

Then Corey and Oats went through the tunnel of death and saw the tubes with the bubbles of death before being greeted by Lord Raven. Corey put some badges and stickers in a bucket for all their friends at the store before buying some versions of the animatronics and some Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice things as well as some special horror character clothing. In addition to that they discovered all sorts of treasures.

Afterwards they paid for their items and decided to have a party in the store, Oats looked at Robin and hugged him. ‘Robin, you’re my hero. You taught me so much about how to find happiness and also you taught me that it’s okay to be sad sometimes.’ ‘I am glad that I could help you.’ They partied in the store and even got to see all sorts of kooky monsters.

They left the store before going exploring in a haunted house attraction where they saw real ghosts and monsters, and they even met Master Gracey, Constance Hatchaway, Ezra, Ramsley and the hitchhiking ghosts from the Haunted Mansion ride and movie. Corey and Oats also took part in a musical number before paying a visit to their friends in Kinzville and going to the reading room clubhouse where they got some candy from the ghost that's haunting the place.

Oats saw Bojack the Cyldesdale in his cute little scarecrow costume and he also saw the webkinz Nightmare and he was happy to see her, he hugged her and she gave him a special halloween present to go with his outfit and form…a magic tiara, which made him super happy. A couple of hours later they decided to return back to their home in Nile Road to have a party of their own where they all partied and had halloween fun. In the afternoon they all played webkinz and warped up some of their karaoke songs, they had lunch before that though.

When it came around to the evening time they put on a special karaoke song that was a compilation of halloween songs and everyone joined in, they then had dinner and relaxed. The last songs they performed that night were ‘Born on Halloween’ ‘Music of the Night’ (which they dedicated to Carmela) and Lullaby by The Cure. When it was over Corey picked up the microphone. ‘We’d like to thank you all for coming to our karaoke party…we hope you all enjoyed yourselves, have yourselves a safe and wonderful halloween, don’t let the monsters, demons and microbes get you, and we wish you all a good evening.’

The audience cheered as the trio returned to normal, after that they relaxed and had fun. When they went into their bedroom that night, they snuggled up with Mel and had sweet halloweeny dreams about their adventures. As the bed transformed, turning into a floating ghost train that took them on a tour of haunted places throughout the world, with Tim Burton as the conductor.

Also they encountered many halloweeny kinzville pets who loved Oats’s costume and loved Corey. Corey greeted every one of them with a smile as they had a wonderful halloween tour. And thus with out this special and the adventure both come to an end but don't be sad, there are more coming up, stay tuned for Corey and Oats in the Canadian Aykroyd Massacre, Oats and Corey at the Kinsgwood Halloween Ball, Corey and Oats in ‘A Visit to the Horror Museum’ and Corey and Oats in…’Corey and Oats’s Galactic Journey’ which will take them to a special Star Wars exhibition.

What would be really cool to see

You know what would be really cool to see more people in this fandom tackle? How Milton’s dissapearance affected the COMMUNITY. I mean-most of the town where they live know about the curse presumably-did they join Dawn in looking for him? What if there were search parties-people in the community, running around the woods and the beaches trying to find this missing boy-

Maybe they try to send a signal out tangled-style on the anniversary of his dissapearance every year-or simply leave little memorials for the boy who dissapeared. Hell, for all we know-in modern times there may even be PODCASTS or radio shows with conspiracy theories about what ACTUALLY Happened to him-

Stay short. Online video marketing works best with short videos. In a world where everyone is competing for attention, it is best to keep to two minutes or less, and even one minute is better!

Oats and Corey in…

Trick Or Treat: A Microbial Halloween Adventure.

Halloween is that one time of year when all the weirdos of the world get to do what they do best without judgment and it is a time for tricks, treats, horror movies and costumes. And it was certainly Mel and Nathan’s favorite holiday and this story’s halloween was no different, except that it was. It was Sunday October 31st, 2021 and our favorite duo was getting up to all sorts of fun. ‘Are you ready for some spoooooky fun, Oatsie?’ Corey asked as he came out dressed as a little vampire. ‘I sure am.’ ‘Can I see your costume?’

“In a minute…”

“Oooh boy, I can’t wait.”

Oats put on the finishing touches to his outfit, he was dressed as a nurse-princess combination with fairy-like wings, he flew out and greeted Corey who was of course dressed as a vampire. Mel came out dressed as Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil: Village, a look that was certainly popular this year. Corey was excited about this halloween because it was his very first halloween adventure with his best friend and his first halloween in New Zealand with his new friends, of course he knew a lot about how his friends celebrated.

Nathan was also ready for the halloween adventure, he decided to go as Dan Aykroyd because Aykroyd had been his spirit guide throughout the year and he could relate to him. Oats of course chose to be a magical nurse combined with a princess because of how some of the other equines that Mel had adopted viewed him as a mother figure, and naturally Corey was a vampire because not only was it a fitting thing since vampires can turn into bats and bats are where covid originated from but also as a fitting nod to the actor he was named after…Corey Feldman, who was Edgar Frog in the Lost Boys and also was in Bordello of Blood.

“So what are we going to do for this adventure?”

“We cannot go anywhere because of Corey's mutation problem.”

“Who says we cannot go anywhere?”

“True, we’ve got the magic bed box.”

Corey pulled out some magic from the magic bedbox the microbes had in the Nile Road house, and pulled out some magic from inside the box, and within a matter of seconds the room filled up with supernatural magic, a magical path leading down the hall materialized as the duo followed the path, along the way they saw lots of puzzles to solve and went through a little tunnel which lead to what appeared to be a graveyard.

That’s where they were greeted by some of Oats’s friends from Equestria who were all in anthro form and dressed in a variety of costumes for Nightmare Night. Princess Luna was also there, Oats whinnied as he excitedly galloped up to her. ‘Hello Princess Luna, you are my favorite princess.’ Luna gave Oats a big hug as she explained that she and the mane 6 were there to teach them all about Nightmare Night, which was their version of Halloween.

Oats and Corey took part in a special Nightmare Night musical number and learned about traditions the ponies of Equestria had around this time of year. Oats even got to meet Pinkie Pie, his favorite pony and give her a special treat he baked for her.

Twilight Sparkle told them a story about vampire ponies known as vamponies that were like bat-ponies only they could speak and also had adorkable traits and also were known for being really polite and well-mannered. The group explored the graveyard and found some treasure.

As they did so, Oats and Corey took on the form of MLP styled anthro pony versions of themselves with a cutie mark representing their best traits. Our equine friend was normally afraid of the dark but with his special magic light he was able to cope.

They came across a tomb with sleeping vamponies and Oats laid out some fruit snacks for them, the vamponies saw the fruit snacks and ate them happily and they then came across a werepony princess named Whinnea and also came across some friendly zomponies and ghost ponies. After the ponies and the duo had left the graveyard, they met up with Mel and headed over to a special area.

Upon reaching the special area, they heard ‘This is Halloween’ playing as Mel walked over to a house made to look like a haunted mansion, she knocked on the door and Tim Burton answered, Tim explained that he lived in the house with Helena Bonham Carter and Lisa Marie Smith and several of his characters.

He welcomed them into the house and they had a halloweentown festival where they had their own spooky fun party similar to the Halloweentown citizens and they even took on an assortment of Burtonesque forms with Mel becoming a voodoo queen who was half living voodoo doll. Corey becoming a half bat-like creature and Oats becoming a ghostly pony bride, they kept their personalities and luckily weren’t evil.

They celebrated and had a good time as Tim showed them a special fortune telling game hosted by Lisa Marie Smith. Corey and Oats sat down and had their fortunes told by her and her sassy talking crystal ball which had the voice of Tim Burton’s late friend Glenn Shadix, and then they learned all about how monsters can be friendly and that sometimes even though someone may look frightening they are actually quite nice.

Matthias aka That Werebelushi In The Shades was also with the group and he was carrying his treat bags and also some weapons needed for monster hunting. The group and Tim headed outside to go over to the spooktacular scarezone he had set up, resembling a mix of a Spirit Halloween display and a Halloween Horror Nights maze, he guided the group around as he told them a story about a dark presence. ‘I bet that this entity that is this scarezone is using dark powers to cause mischief.’

“Exactly…we have to stick together.”

Mel sensed something very strange was happening as a shadowy entity seemed to be following her and the group, but the shadowy entity wasn’t the only strange thing…she noticed that her fur was starting to pale a little bit, making her look like she had a pale complexion as her fingernails lengthened to a point they looked even longer than usual. Her breasts enlarged quite a bit as her arms and legs lengthened, as she slowly shot up in height until she was around 8 or 9 ft tall.

She gasped as she examined herself, but she wasn’t horrified..she thought this was oddly kind of fascinating as her hips flared out…’Oooh boy, wish my boyfriend could see this.’ She chuckled to herself as her hair lengthened a little bit, darkening and taking on the tone and color of being jet black in some parts as red eye-makeup materialized around her eyes, her eyes turning from brown to a golden yellow color while her features altered, slowly warping her into a koala version of Lady Dimitrescu herself. ‘Oh my…i’m sexy, I might even possibly tower over my boyfriend now.’

The koala-girl with vampiric traits laughed and as she did, her canine teeth lengthened to resemble fangs as her voice altered, altering a little bit to sound like Maggie Robertson who voiced the actual Lady Dimitrescu in the game. Fortunately she was still the same old Mel personality-wise and didn’t turn, although she did have to admit it was kind of funny to have this usually seductive character have the personality of an adorkable koala-girl.

“Mel…is that you? You’ve grown a lot taller.”

“It is…don’t worry, i’m still here.”

“How does being Lady Dimitrescu feel?”

‘Well it’s going to take a lot of getting used to being this tall but I admit I do look gorgeous like this.’ She responded as she batted her eyes. ‘Hopefully you don’t have a lust for blood, do you?’ ‘Of course not’. ‘Good, because I hope that you won’t bite us and turn us.’ Corey nodded but then he felt a supernatural sensation in him as he developed vampiric traits and turned into a vampire version of himself that was a cross between Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins and David from the Lost Boys, he chuckled as he showed off his new fangs.

“Woah…Corey, you’re a vampire too.”

“Yeah.”

Oats looked at himself as he noticed himself gaining magical powers as he noticed that the fairy wings on his costume had become real fairy wings as he became a female version of himself who was a magical nurse/princess combination, his physique was a bit more feminine but he still he was a male equine, it’s just he had taken a more feminine form and identity.

Nathan felt a little bit odd as his stomach gurgled, that’s when he felt his stomach growing and broadening as brown hairs grow on it, followed by on his chest which also broadened and grew, and also on his arms, his arms enlarged as did his hands. His height slowly went up from 5’7 to 6’1 as his back broadened.

He examined his body as he suddenly found himself being attracted to his own transformation as his rear plumped up, his legs lengthened a bit as his feet enlarged, two of the toes on both feet sticking together at the knuckle to give them a webbed appearance. He recognized the feet he now had, he saw they were akin to Dan Aykroyd’s feet as his shoulders broadened next.

“Nathan..you’re becoming Dan Aykroyd.”

“Hey I am, well i’ve always dreamed of this…”

Nathan didn’t seem to mind this as his hair darkened a bit and his neckline altered, his brow and forehead altered in the process as his eyebrows thickened, he looked at himself and squeed when he saw himself…his eyes widened with one turning from brown to green, and the other remaining brown. His nose broadening as a cleft materialized in the middle and his lips became quite kissable, his features slowly becoming Aykroydian until he very much resembled the real Dan Aykroyd. He looked exactly like Dan which made him laugh, and as he did..his voice contorted, altering to sound like Dan’s voice, without even needing to listen, he knew he had Dan Aykroyd’s voice as well as his appearance.

He looked at himself for a bit and then noticed how much he was like the real Dan Aykroyd, but he was still himself, he just developed a few of Dan’s mannerisms and personality traits including the techno-babble talk which Dan was known for in movies like Ghostbusters.

Despite being Dan Aykroyd’s double appearance and voice-wise, he was still Nathan though and he just had those traits but he wasn’t a complete Dan clone in memory and mind. ’Woah..I didn’t know Dan Aykroyd was in this special.’ ‘Guys, it’s me.’ ‘Nathan? How did you do that? That’s spooky. You look and sound so much like him it’s supernatural.’

“I know, isn’t this awesome?”

“Yeah, we’re all the things we dressed as.”

Nathan/Dan chuckled to himself as he looked around. It seems the group really enjoyed their new forms. ‘Looks like all of us have been turned into the thing we have dressed as, and we like it…’ ‘Well except for me.’ He looked over at Matthias/That Werebelushi In The Shades,who had transformed into a mix of himself and James Corden, he looked and sounded like Corden but still with a bit of that Werebelushi gruffness thrown in.

“What happened to you, Matthias?”

‘I was dressed as James Corden, I dared the actual James Corden to dress as me and he now has got some of my powers. Meanwhile, i’m still me but i’m also him. And that’s just great.’ He explained, rolling one of his eyes. ‘And please note that I am being sarcastic when I say that’s great.’

“So James has some of your powers? He didn’t morph into you?”

‘Well not exactly, he just became a mixture of himself and me. So he basically has my powers and some of my attributes. I told him that he’s going to have to be careful.’ ‘Don’t worry i’m sure he will.’ ‘He better be careful.’ Matthias responded. ‘So you don’t like being him?’ ‘James Corden is always stealing roles from me. They always pick him over me when it comes to certain roles. We’re not enemies or anything, he just seems to always get the parts I try out for.’

“I’m sorry you had to end up like that.”

‘I know, but it’s not so bad. It just will be hard for me to be gruff or menacing or intimidating like this. I’m supposed to be a badass, look at me. Or rather listen to me.’ ‘Yeah, but you still have your powers, right? Like your retractable quills and such.’ ‘Yes, I do.’ ‘Then you should still be able to be you.’

“You’re right I am still me after all.”

Matthias chuckled to himself, and then he heard his laugh…’You know, some people are right about James’s laugh, he DOES sound like a hyena sometimes.’ He lightened up a little as he adjusted himself and combed his hair and adjusted his tie.

Just then several creatures jumped out at the group, Mel sliced several of them up with her claws as Corey used his new vampire powers to hypnotize a few people to have them aid in the fight, Oats fought some of them off with his magic.

Nathan discovered he had gained a rather unique set of Aykroydian attributes and also discovered he had some new powers which he put to use when fighting off some of the monsters while Matthias shot his projectile quills in the direction of another group of monsters. A monster battle took place in the scarezone.

After all the monsters had been defeated, Tim showed them to the exit of the scarezone and the group went through it and through a tunnel which lead back to Tim’s house, they arrived in Tim’s living room which had all sorts of colorful Halloweentown creatures helping out and they even saw some halloween webkinz pets that were all dressed up.

For the next couple of hours they celebrated over at Tim’s house, but after that Mel gestured to the group and to the duo. They followed her and listened to what she said. She said it was time for them to come home. ‘Can we visit Tim again?’ ‘Oh you bet we can.’

“Yaaay. This has been the best halloween ever.”

“How was your first halloween adventure here, Corey?”

‘I loved it.’ ‘And how about you, Oats?’ ‘Oh mommy, I loved it so much. It was such a lot of fun.’ The group headed back through the tunnel and ended up back home, well specifically back at their home in 28 Rosemary Avenue, as opposed to the Nile Road house since it was the weekend and they spent the weekends there.

Back at their Rosemary Avenue house they all celebrated and listened to halloween music and had fun all afternoon, all evening and all not, Corey and Oats and Mel did eventually return to normal but kept some of their traits from their transformed states and Nathan did discover that becoming Dan Aykroyd had given him were-aykroyd powers, which he began to study intensively.

Matthias/Werebelushi in Shades went back to his apartment, however he did go and do his Werebelushi Rants show halloween on Youtube, however he did have to explain why he had become James Corden’s double, which of course he did and luckily for him it wear off. That night, at the house they had a nice meal and watched Muppets Haunted Mansion together. They took part in a halloween event on Magic Kingdoms and even on Webkinz.

After all that fun, and playing around, at around 9 to around 10 thirty pm they all got ready for bed and then afterwards they got into bed and snuggled up after Mel brushed her teeth, having sweet dreams of their adorable halloween adventure, Corey was glad to have such a magical first halloween and he knew he was going to have a fun time with his equine bestie. And Oats knew that Corey was going to have a lot of fun today as the two snuggled up and hugged eachother.

“I just know we’re going to have many more adventures.”

“We certainly are.”

And thus with that the duo drifted off to sleep and wished each-other goodnight, and as they slept their magic bed transformed into a doom buggy as they went on another journey, a journey to the Haunted Mansion where they met Master Gracey, Madam Leota, Ezra, Emma, and Ramsley along with the Muppets and the Great Mcguffin. Their halloween adventure continued in their dream as they had all sorts of fun in the Haunted Mansion.

As for the next day..the next day it was the first of November, and they greeted everyone at Nile Road with stories of their halloween adventure, and Corey was particularly ecstatic to share his story with everyone.

It just goes to show you that sometimes the very first adventure you go on is the most magical of all,especially if you ask Corey and Oats about it, they know all about magical adventures. So happy 2021 halloween to all our you little misfits and microbes out there.
