"There was a SCSI version of Elecom's useless product that makes a cable look like a different cable by attaching it to the connector, so I bought it. It's not a half width, but a full width 50 pin, and it sticks out past the width of the phone. Crazy."

Welp I've begun the process of moving my podcast library over since Google podcasts is shutting down. Any reccs for podcasts I should listen to? It's fine if it's one I've listened to before since I didn't transfer all of them the last time I had to switch 😓 mostly looking for fiction and I'm pretty open minded. Loved the strange case of starship Iris, the Magnus archives, and The adventure zone.
Some nonfiction reccs would also be nice. Listen to a lot of McElroy content and cartoon related podcasts. Some Spanish language reccs would be nice or anything about my other interests like art, cartoons, animation, space. But if there's any really good ones that come to mind for you I'd love to hear!

Here’s an #HP SureStore 6000 magnetic tape drive from 1995 - you know it’s old when you look at the back and see a 50-pin #SCSI connector! Interesting fact, when HP first got involved in the computer industry in the 1960s their first product wasn’t a computer or a printer, it was a magnetic tape drive. got an akai s3000xl last month and got lucky cuz its only issues was a dead backlight and faulty floppy drive. i quicky replaced the backlight but goofed a lil by pushing it too much (the dark spots on the screen are tape). the floppy drive seemed like a pain in the ass at first cuz replacements with the same/similar model as the original drive cost $35+ so i said fuck that and got a $10 kinda-close model (mitsumi d359m3d) and hoped it worked. i had to jumper wire the power cable to make it reach the new drive but it does work!
the nice thing about the s3000xl is that its switching psu has 2 modes: 100 - 120v & [european numbers]v. so i didnt have to get another step down converter to use a jp one in usa
after testing my zuluscsi mini with six 510MB virtual drives, i immediately neglected it to sample myself meowing and saved the patches to floppy
