tyoma’s “im suddenly awake and want 2 talk abt stp” corner core is a fun album because i don’t remember if i ever actually listened to it as a kid but i do definitely remember some songs off of there having a nostalgic impact on me. dead and bloated is very familiar with the “i aaaam smellin like a rose” thing. it’s really cool! it makes me feel warm and happy despite the general dark vibe purple has impeccably good vibes like. if you end the album with a song called “my second album” which has the line “this album cover looks similar like johnny mathis. for mathis lovers, this album has his style” youre immediately on them 500% good vibes. you would not believe how much i treasure tiny music. every track on there makes me feel so at peace and i remember listening to it all the time in the car rides to school back when i was barely a person hehe. me and my grandpa sing lady picture show together when i play it. and ride the cliche forever brings me unspeakable amounts of joy, i should relearn it on my guitar... i think i listened to no. 5 when i got older and rediscovered stp in middle school. it has some emotional resonance for me in that sense but otherwise i don’t have much feelings on it. alot of the songs go hard and just generally fuck buuuut thats about it. although atlanta really makes me wanna cry. i associate alot of songs off of shangri-la dee da with my exes and the bad feelings i felt around them but it really holds a soft spot in my heart for keeping me company and helping me feel safe back then. i can listen to it and not feel triggered or anything but i do end up crying a bit every time a song comes on from there. unless its like. the song hollywood bitch which i have no strong feelings for skadjfnlsadf aaannnd finally thank you. the compilation album. that was the album mom always played alongside tiny music and it has alot of strong emotional resonance for me. the cover art played alot into my love for sunflowers and i based alot of my art in my teenage years on it. lots of ocs too were directly influenced by it! what’s crazy is that i don’t remember days of the week at all even tho its on the album. i also don’t remember all in the suit that you wear. guess i was too busy asking mom 2 replay vasoline over and over again nsakdjfldsaf

... I was excited to read this and I wasn't disappointed. It was easy to read and well written As a huge STP fan I was excited to read this and I wasn't disappointed. It was easy to read and well written. He writes honestly about his relationships and addictions and gives a lot of insight into stories behind the lyrics. If you are a fan of STP or Velvet Revolver I recommend this book. I read the thing in about 4 to 5 hours. Go to Amazon
Awesome book, fast read Awesome book, fast read. It covers his life from childhood to I believe the time he was back with the Stone Temple Pilots the second and final time. The book has a lot of pictures from childhood to the time this memoir was written. It goes into his addiction struggles, his love interests, tragedies he's endured, and of course, how his band STP came about and how he later became the front man for Velvet Revolver, as well as his solo ventures. There are a lot of his song lyrics in the book and he tells what inspired them. It's just a really good book. I highly recommend it! Go to Amazon
It's okay I grew up listening to STP and it's sad to watch someone lose everything to drugs. Scott sounds kinda whinny in this book and truly believe he has a love hate relationship with heroin. Go to Amazon
I loved Scott Wieland's music and lyrics. A great read. I have always been a huge fan of Scott Wieland and this autobiography was a huge treat for me to read. I prefer to read what someone tells me about themself as opposed to what someone else tells me about another person. Biographies always have some form of bias and this is never good when you want the actual artist's perspective. I would recommend this book to anyone that loved Scott as much as I did. His life was not lived in vain if one person decides to quit drugs or booze due to his journey. Go to Amazon
The inspiration of finishing my life I would have anyone that has had a love affair with drugs, like me, to realize fame, fortune, and love aren't always the easy way out of an interesting, yet painful life that u want to change .creativity is a special gift and unfortunately only a few share theirs w/ the world. I loved this book and would just love to have been the one to edit and help write with Mr. Weiland he was always an icon musically but now I feel a much more closeness what a shame he will never know how I feel Go to Amazon
Worth reading I am a big STP and Scott Weiland fan. I had read the amazon reviews before buying, so my expectations weren't high. Although I read it quickly like everyone else, I felt privileged to have gotten a glimpse into Scotts life and learned a lot about him. Go to Amazon
Insightful but was expecting more. Having been a STP fan for the past 15 or more years, I was very excited to read this book. I was not disappointed. A very intriguing read that kept me reading till the end to see how all the pieces came together. I am sure I could have got most of the info from stories over the years and on the web, but to have it all in one place straight from the horses mouth made me feel closer to Scott than ever before. I was expecting more detail and a more cohesive timeline though. He seemed to skim over quite a bit and it was hard to really relate what was happening to the STP timeline. He kind of skipped around sometimes which was confusing. It was easier by the time he got to velvet Revolver, but at that time he started quoting a lot more of his lyrics, but it was nice to see how intimately they tied into his relationship with Mary. After finishing the book I listened to N0.4 and Shangri-la and could see in more detail what the songs referenced. I would like to read Mary's book next to see how their stories coincide with one another. I definitely recommend this book to any STP or Velvet Revolver fan. I read it on kindle and it flew by watching the percentage read count up quickly with no page number to reference. Go to Amazon
Great Short Read Great Read but very short. Many pages aren't reading pages. Read the whole book in two short evenings. Still worth the read, wished it had been longer. Breaks my heart. Go to Amazon
Good read Five Stars Five Stars Extremely guarded Excellent read. Too bad he passed away as he ... Five Stars very sad.. Five Stars Buy books whether we like it or not

Axl’s Birthday!
I have posted this before but whatever, I do what I want.
Someone asked me a few years ago why I love Axl/what my Axl history is. So here it is, in honor of our lord and savior’s important 55th birthday.
It started in December of 1991. I was 12 years old. I don’t know the exact moment or the reason why it happened, but I found myself drawn to Axl’s awesome voice and amazing hotness. I think it might have been the video for Don’t Cry? But I don’t remember. It was a long time ago. But something about the lyrics and Axl’s voice and the way he existed as a human and carried himself and had so much fucking passion for everything, that inspired me. It made me who I am as a person today. Without the lyrics and the voice and the way I can count on him every single time I need him, I would be a completely different person. Who knows if that’s a good thing or not, it just…is.
I’m also very proud and excited about his last year. He finally let the reunion happen, and it’s been a huge success. I don’t think he and Slash are braiding each other’s hair and sharing hotel rooms or anything, but at least they get along well enough to put their differences behind them and rock out onstage. Not to mention Axl taking over as singer for AC/DC and what a badass he was during those tours.
So as for my history with GNR? It goes way back and gets complicated. Here’s a list for your enjoyment.
I’ve seen them live seven times, once in 2001 in Vegas, three times in 2011 in Houston, Dallas, Vegas, 2013 at the House of Blues in Dallas, once in Houston and once in Dallas in 2016. My Vegas concerts were exactly ten years apart, in the same place at the same time.
I won tickets on the radio to the GNR/Metallica/Faith No More show in 1992, but my parents said I was too young to go and I had to sell my tickets to my neighbor. They consoled me by saying GNR would be back soon. If you count 19 years as “soon”, then I guess they were right.
I also had tickets to the show in 2002. It was my graduation present. And of course the tour was canceled and everything sucks.
In 2000, Axl finally broke his 6 year silence and played a show in Vegas. I was IN Vegas and I didn’t know this happened until a few days later. This broke my heart and it took me a year to recover.
I’ve stood in the front row of a Velvet Revolver concert and was sweat on by Slash, Duff and Scott Weiland. I also saw Slash with Ozzy in 2011.
My dad played Blackjack for hours with Axl in Vegas in 2006. He didn’t know who he was at first but then someone told him. He still did nothing. No autograph. Not even an acknowledgement that I existed. It’s been more than a decade and he still has not been forgiven.
GNR and Axl both got themselves a twitter in December of 2009. For most of 2010 and part of 2011, they replied to me and retweeted me all the time. Tommy Stinson and I basically had a twitter relationship. I did this to get their attention and be acknowledged as a fan but I also did it to get some kind of advantage when they would eventually tour the US. To that effect, I asked them basically every single day to come to Texas.
And it worked, because they came to Texas, and I was acknowledged. They gave me after party passes and I met Fernando, Beta, Del James, DJ, Bumblefoot, Tommy, Frank, Chris…basically everyone but Axl. It was really top five best nights of my life and I am so grateful that they gave me the opportunity to experience it.
In 2010, Slash had this DM relationship with people on twitter. I would have many interesting conversations with him about Axl and about his life and my life in general. It was fun.
In 2011 I got a tattoo on my ankle that says “Baby, maybe, someday” from Don’t Cry. The song is beyond important to me. It is everything. It defines me as a human being.
On that note, in Houston, the show where I met everyone, Axl  came out to sing Don’t Cry and then told the story of what the song was about, how he and Izzy knew this girl who broke their hearts, etc. etc. I am 93% sure he told that story because he knew I was in the audience and I have many reasons why I believe such things.
In my opinion, Axl’s voice was better than I’ve ever personally heard in Houston of last year. It was a pretty bad ass show.
That’s it, really. I just love this band. I think Axl has reasons for all the crazy shit he does. I think his passion for the goal he set out to reach in 1985 with this band is so admirable. He persists even though the media and critics and even his own fans give him so much disrespect. His voice and his band give people spiritual concert experiences even after all these years. He puts his heart and soul into every performance, even though he must hate singing WTTJ for the 8,991st time in his life. I think he has problems and he’s misunderstood and is prone to temper tantrums, but overall, I admire everything he has done for me, and for music in general. I also feel that Chinese Democracy is an amazing album, my favorite of all time in fact, and is a misunderstood masterpiece. I loved the CD-era line-up and thought they did their best to represent what Axl had envisioned for the band, but I also realize that the band is at its peak with Duff and Slash back in it. Axl and Slash have magical chemistry, I truly believe that now.
Also, Axl’s really hot and ever since I’ve started this thing with him, I’ve had a thing for redheads with blue/green eyes. My boyfriend even matches this description. Late 80s, early 90s Axl is still the hottest man to ever exist in the whole spectrum of human beings to me. And while he’s older and his neck is weird, there ain’t nothing wrong with current Axl, either. So happy birthday to him and his hotness, and thank you for asking me this important question.
