So I’ve been trying to buy my childhood Bratz dolls and all the dolls of my favorite Bratz character, Phoebe.
Tumblr media
Well buying from ppl on Mercari is annoying. And I’m gonna vent cuz I’m annoyed.
Like I ordered a back to school Phoebe and Yasmin for like $170 and these are used and don’t have their all their original accessories. Which is a good price for these dolls. For reference an new in box back to school Phoebe can cost from $250-$500+ American dollars.
Well they canceled my order after creating a shipping label and got my hopes up for having my childhood doll back.
Now I see they posted the 3 back to school series dolls again for a higher price of $323. I really am starting to get annoyed with the scalper prices. So I commented on the post to let ppl know she was not a good sell cuz I could not review after they canceled my order. Then I got restricted and they DMed me that my comments were uncalled for.
Well maybe they should have canceled my order before they created the shipping label. Their actions were rude and are now selling the dolls for a higher price.

Be weary of scalpers.

Signed TTPD editions: Ideas on how to stop scalpers
I'm extremely frustrated (again), about the signed photo editions of TTPD. Because it must've been sold out so fast in the whole world. I saw it not too long after it was posted here on Tumblr, but it was sold out everywhere. Then I looked at Ebay, and despite the fact that it was only possible to buy one copy, Ebay is flooded with those signed TTPD versions. All of them for at least 230€ or $, up to over 1000€ or $.
Please @taylorswift / @taylornation / Universal Music do something to prevent scalpers from milking your fans and getting rich because people are buying from them. Because it should be your fans who'll get those items, because they really want to have them, and not some people or businesses who live from milking real fans and only buy the stocks empty, to get even richer than they already are and prevent fans from getting those signed or limited items. For me it feels almost like fraud by those scalpers.
My ideas:
To prevent bots from buying it: Introduce a system in all your stores (worldwide) that will send you a code to your email, or as an sms onto your phone, that the buyer has to type in, in order to finalize their order of limited or signed items. Maybe also introduce a captcha if someone wants to order limited or signed items. (Even though I hate captchas)
Check addresses! If someone has multiple accounts and orders with the same address, cancel all but one order from them. In my country (Germany), many stores did that when the Playstation 5 was available for pre-order and it worked to at least reduce that behaviour.
I don't know how it is with the laws, but if possible, forbid people from selling those signed items somewhere else for one or two years after it was originally sold, or only allow to sell it for a maximum of 10% more than the original price.

Reason I hate scalpers
Also why I’m a little preeved at Mattel
They makes us doll collector jump through so many hoops to try to get these Mattel creations dolls only for us to miss out and all the scalpers/ bots manage to get them all 1st and maybe some luckiest doll collectors maybe sometimes gets one but I know a lot of us we’re trying to get those the nightmare before Christmas monster high dolls but a lot of us just couldn’t make it or we’re blocked from doing so
It’s even worse to see when scalpers max up the price for these dolls when these dolls are really not worth $500 dollars
They were $90 dollars before why go so high?
Man Mattel really dropped the ball on these dolls
I really really Really wanted these dolls but I cannot justify paying $500 dollars for them
Also as my budget cannot cover for them this after I had to help my mum out with getting some trees out from growing into pipes and there’s a movie at the end of the month I want to go see I’m saving up to go see
And and this close to December I gotta start getting my Christmas 🎄 shopping done as well
I’m just so upset this scalper trying this bs right now

Ticketmaster
Back when I was a teen, the only way to buy tickets to concerts was by trying to get through to a Ticketmaster rep on the phone, or stand in long lines at a Ticketmaster outlet. Often, the front of any line would be stacked with middle-aged men (maybe they were in their 20s, but they looked old to teenage me) who were paid by scalpers to get as many of the best seats as possible. I hated waiting in lines. I hated dialing and re-dialing my family's ROTARY phone (soooooo slow!) in the hopes of getting through. But I almost always was able to purchase a ticket. Computers and technology should've made this process so much easier. And yet, here we are. What happened w/Taylor Swift's ticketing is shameful & needs to be fixed. The system is flawed. But no one took BTS fans' complaints seriously when they were stymied in attempts to purchase tickets. No one listened when it was pointed out that tickets were being resold for exorbitant scalper prices almost immediately.
In the 1990s, many reporters (including myself) covered Pearl Jam's fight against Ticketmaster & its exorbitant surcharges/monopoly on concerts.
This isn't brain surgery. Ticketmaster can figure out ways to create a fair system. But I suppose it benefits them financially not to.

This is a message to every scalper in the music industry that buys every concert ticket from the venue and raises the prices ten-fold before fans of the artists get a chance to buy them themselves. You are the cause of death for the performing arts and parasites to us all.
To the fans of these artists whose shows are sold out because of these parasites, do not give them your money. Do not purchase these tickets from VividSeats, StubHub, or any other third-party ticket sites. They are not doing you a service by “reserving” tickets, they are leeching off of your dedication to seeing a music artist live and preying on you for your money. It will take collective action from us as fan bases to hold out against them for them to give in and return their tickets for us to buy instead. Face Value Exchange is the only ethical way for tickets to be resold in this age of scalping parasites
And yes, the context to this is the Sleep Token tour being sold out by these people before fans can purchase these otherwise affordable tickets.

If the Pokemon X Van Gogh event proves anything; it is that shop owners, museum workers, event organizers, etc. should legally be allowed to hunt scalpers for sport

Honest @taylorswift @taylornation needs to do something about merch drops because it’s not fair that scalpers are able to buy up all the merch and we as fans get screwed over. Like there should a limit on buying and actually having items that are highly in demand in stock
