Do you love journals?
Journaling is amazing and life altering!
I created this journal, especially for you. For the days, you need to remind yourself about why you shouldn’t give up on your dreams and goals, despite the obstacles. Sometimes, we may feel like giving up. We need the motivation to keep moving forward because life does change. So, why don't you motivate yourself by keeping a journal! You can write down new ideas, doodles, quotes, sayings, notes to self, make collages, or journal your daily life experiences. You can decorate your journal with your favorite things, like rhinestones, drawings, or inspiring pictures from magazines. Journaling is an excellent and therapeutic way of recording your emotional highs and lows. You will feel better about yourself and your journey of never giving up. The creative journals includes the poem, Never Give Up!, at the beginning of the journal.

Event Planners in DISGUISE
Even if a job position is not directly called “Event Planner”, the job may still require the same qualifications, requirements and duties as an everyday event planner. When visiting LinkedIn, several job opportunities that were available came up that fit the description of an event planner. They were simply disguised under a different name.
The first job listing that was on LinkedIn was for the Executive Assistant to the Head Master/Director of Advancement for The Lawrenceville School. The job description on LinkedIn is as follows:
• Maintains Director’s daily appointment calendar.
• Provides all forms of clerical support – answers phones, files, typing, copying, etc.
• Organizes meeting schedules, locations, food services, and equipment needed.
• Prepares meeting agendas and processes minutes, if necessary.
• Prepares information for Development Committee and Trustee Committee meetings.
• Sets up conference calls.
• Merges and mails letters for Director.
• Makes travel arrangements (flights, hotels, car services, itineraries) for Director and faculty/trustees if necessary.
• Provides general assistance to staff, faculty, and alumni.
• Prepares Director’s monthly expense report for processing.
• Prepares drafts for memos, letters, and Special Acknowledgements for approval.
• Participates in departmental interviews and assists in training new hires
• Sets up and runs computer reports
. • Provides assistance during Alumni Weekend and other on-campus events as needed.
This position carries the same roles and responsibilities as an event planner, as the position requires that whoever fills it to be organized, personable, and to be prepared to organize meetings, schedules, locations and food and beverage.
The next position on LinkedIn that was an event planner in disguise, was an Assistant Sales Manager for an undisclosed company. The roles and responsibilities for this position are as follows:
Key activities performed by Banquet/event sales managers include account management, business development, market research, sales prospecting, public relations, customer relationship management, event planning and coordination, logistics oversight, revenue management, and communications. They also prepare proposals for clients and maintain well-organized event records. Banquet/Banquet/Event sales managers build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners, and leverage these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.
Communications and Customer Relationship Management: Banquet/Event sales managers have excellent customer relationship management and communication skills. They are polished and articulate, and use these skills to manage client relationships. Banquet/Event sales managers are active members of the hospitality and event planning industries, and pursue new market opportunities to increase event sales. They meet with clients regularly, and often conduct tours of the event facility. Banquet/Event sales managers provide accurate and timely information to clients, vendors, and meeting planners. They continuously focus on improving customer satisfaction to create customer loyalty and deliver a positive event experience.
Banquet/Event Planning: Banquet/Event assistant sales managers are responsible for all elements of event planning, including identifying event logistics and negotiating contracts. They coordinate event logistics, proactively communicate event information, and set clear expectations for event delivery. Banquet/Event sales managers work well under pressure, are able to manage multiple activities simultaneously, and re-prioritize efforts when plans change or the need arises.
Banquet/Event sales managers prepare detailed event reports, including sales data worksheets, cost projections and other financial metrics. They analyze and reconcile disparate event details, and consolidate the information into actionable event plans.
This position also describes the everyday life as an event planner due to its need to be an organized individual that is personable. This position, similar to an event planner deals hands on with clientele and is responsible for logistics and negotiations for event contracts. This position also generally deals with hospitality.

321 story time go! The only way to stop time is take a picture. That picture then becomes an anchor to the moment in time that it captures. This particular picture, moment, memory, was captured at @rider_university in fall 2008. America's best dance crew on @mtv premiered in 2008 and lasted 6 seasons. It shined a light on dance battle culture like no mainstream show before or since and gave the world the super crew known as the @jabbawockeez. My friend marcus @agentmose had a contact with one of groups from season 2, phresh select, and wanted to get them to make an appearance at school. His main motivation can be summed up as follows 'let's throw a party and get you to dj it' his exact words. We took the idea to the woman in charge of event coordination @addiekayesmommyj who is the one primarily responsible for making this moment happen. What started as an idea in Marcus's soon became physical in the form of posters around campus. You know never know if an event will be successful until the doors open, so up until that point we were all nervous. Doors opened, people poured and Phresh Select put on a show. Everyone in attendance saw what mastery of ones craft looks like up close.
