Desert Moon Dennis DeYoung Released 1984 This is the debut solo album release from former Styx member Dennis DeYoung.  I owned this cassette version when it was released back in 84 but never really played it except for the song "Desert Moon".  After listening to it in its entirety, I see why.  Only a few exceptions of songs I liked.  The song Fire, which is the Jimi Hendrix classic, is 'different', undecided if I like it or not.  Desert Moon is still a great song, which is why I picked up this album a few years ago.   Side One Don't Wait For Heroes - 8/10 Please - 4/10 Boys Will Be Boys - 4/10 Fire - 8/10 Would Jimi Hendrix approve? In 1991, founding partners Paul West and Paula Benson opened the doors of London-based design studio Form with two core philosophies: To create work they are proud of and to build real value for their clients through their thinking and particular approach to bold and recognisable design. [2]

With a background in music, within a few years they had worked with most of the major and indie record companies within the UK. Form evolved by taking their passion to a wider range of clients in other sectors whilst winning awards for their creativity and gaining international respect along the way. [2]

Rough Trade Records released “Hand in Glove” by Sandie Shaw on April 14, 1984. Pictured is the Spanish 7” vinyl sleeve artwork featuring actress Rita Tushingham in a still from "A Taste of Honey" directed by Tony Richardson. The screenplay for that movie was written by Shelagh Delaney who has been featured on the covers for "Louder than Bombs” and "Girlfriend in a Coma.” [1]

The Spanish 7" is unique because it was produced with the 12" format cover art. This may have something to do with the fact that Nuevos Medios almost systematically released Smiths singles on 12" format, and rarely on 7". On both instances when they did release a 7" single, the 12" artwork was used. [2]

What's first noticed about this single is its sleeve. It is not the rigid UK sleeve, nor the thin paper ones from other countries. It is made of thick paper with a canvas-like texture. Its back layout is the expected variation on the UK 7" back: the UK catalogue number was erased and the Spanish one added to the top right corner. Additional Nuevos Medios logo and credits are found at the bottom. The colour there may be slightly closer to brownish-grey. The label is grey and red as in the UK, and the text follows the same layout. [2]

Well the movie is brilliant as is the sequel and if you haven’t seen those 2 films please fix that. But the soundtrack is also fantastic with some scandal all on its own. * * * * The Godfather is the soundtrack from the film of the same name, released in 1972 by Paramount Records Unless noted, the cues were composed by Nino Rota and conducted by Carlo Savina. * * * * * Nino Rota, an Italian composer who had a fruitful creative partnership with director Federico Fellini (Rota composed the scores for La Strada, Night of Cabiria, 8 1/2), was chosen as The Godfather‘s composer in order to give it a true Italian feeling. His score became an essential piece of the film, and its spare trumpet opening and lush love theme have become two of American cinema’s more famous pieces of music.
