Love is Blind [HSBB]
You know that moment when you've known someone for so long that it feels like you've own them forever? That how this fic reads :D It's so light, and fluffy. In this AU Grian is blind and has a massive crush on Scar, whom he shares an apartment building with. How does the rest unfold? You'll have to read the fic and find out yourself!

Extras under cut - Wips, rambles, the whole nine yards
Over the course of 2 months, this piece took us nearly 16 and a half HOURS. Up until switching to Procreate I never had an art program that timed how long I worked on something. If CSP has this feature I must've not been able to find it.
The amount of time is pretty stunning to me. I'd say 16 hours isn't that bad! At least by my own standards.
Absolutely shocked by the amount of strokes btw. That's fucking insane.
So for once I actually went at this with a few thumbnail sketches and this was the winner out of the 3 and I blew it up to size and started the finalized sketch.
The funniest thing is I started this right before my art style decided to change so I hope you enjoy the old art style :P <3
So, I did something interesting here. In the past when we would do full pieces we would do a lineless background, so everything besides the characters were painted lineless.
THIS time we decided to line the background with maroon instead of black to help break up the characters from the background so they pop! more and I really like how it turned out and we're happy to say this has carried over into other pieces. :]
I want you to pay attention to Scar's wheelchair in these shots, it's the only thing that changes. I remember doing the shading on the background and main color on the characters all in one night because I was having a bad bout of insomnia and I posted my progress in the artist wip-sharing channel on our event server and looked back at it the next morning and was SO embarrassed I had to fix it. This is also when I changed references.
For some reason I didn't capture any in progress shots of the shading but we did manage to get a few shots of Grumbot. :] He's modeled after a labadoodle! While working on this the team and I discovered that's what they were originally bred for, to be hypoallergenic guide dogs! Isn't that cool!?

My partner and I own a poodle and he was kind enough to be my reference/model. He was well compensated with treats don't worry.

hermittwt ive had a realization that other people have definitely already made. the idea came to me while i was watching Animagicians video (this one, specifically)
while i do think the video was really cool i wanna focus on one small offhandedly mentioned thing. when ep 17 came out and we all saw the “im from a season where mumbo was mayor” we all thought that meant that our grumbot knew it was a fake reality. but, in the video Ani mentions that maybe the same thing happened to new grumbot. my thought process is what if thats exactly what happened. he was left there in that fake box, watching a still and lifeless image of the island, left to corode away into the now rusted and green tinted grumbot that entered into the new season. left in that false reality until one day he was able to notice the cracks. the sky never going to night, the island never changing, the small bits of light shining in from an odd angle for a second every time mumbo or grian came to visit. he asks grian why the island never changes, why there hasnt been any new shops, or games, or anything happening, and the guilt of lying to his son overwhelms grian. he tells grumbot the truth, mumbo didnt become mayor, but they didnt want him to feel like he was a failure so they hid him into his own little world until the rest of the server forgot he was even there.
His Grian was sorry too.

Okay earlier i asked what nicknames scar should use for Grian in my mumscarian hero au. Overwhelmingly, people love “Songbird”! Which I’ll start folding into my fic along with other names I had picked out.
Out of curiosity (and crowdsourcing pet names for my fic), what nicknames should Scar use on Mumbo? Ive used “handsome”, and plan to use “Dear”.

Two theories:
Empires!False is actually an amnesiac Truesymmetry (no evidence other than how concerned False sounded about another her being there)
Empires!False is the False from the Mayor Scar timeline while Hermit!False is from the Mayor Mumbo timeline just like Grumbot. (Thist is backed up by her line about "Grumbot knows what happened last time" in regards to the rift)

So i found some unfinished art from season 7 and decided to refurbish it. it was just some cute art of Grum but my internal horror element decided to twist it around and all of a sudden a little au you was created in my head.
So basically Grumbot can detect if there are any players on the server, and once everyone left for season eight he got so confused because he couldn’t see anyone. After a bit of struggling he made his way out of the box to find it was completely abandoned. A few weeks of wandering passed and he could suddenly sense someone! He sent a message in this persons direction hoping it would reach them
Zedaph, after creating a machine that sent him though old worlds of his, got a ping from someone on his communicuff. It was Grum wondering who was there and if they could help. after a while Zed found him and Grum started asking a lot of questions. Zed, not knowing that he was supposed to lie about the election, He told Grum along with all the other world stuff. Grum naturally got mad at this and when he came through to season eight with Zed he started hunting down scar and Bdubs for winning the election thinking this was what Mumbo and Grian would want.
Grian obviously did not want this. He did everything in his power to stop Grum but there was only so much he could do. Grum was mad at him for lying no matter how much G told him what happened. He just did not believe it. The only thing G could do was to get mumbo to shut Grum down but Mumbo was not convinced his son could do such a thing and was just happy to have him back. This was only lie he told though. Mumbo was actually just fascinated at how much his Redstone had evolved to create an actual living being. he wanted to test the limits of what he could do and what he could build, so this all became a huge experiment to him.
So to scar this was a game of The immortal snail basically. This unstoppable creature was hunting him down and he just had to run so Grian and Scar pack up and go from the continent to try and make sure that Grum doesn’t hurt any of the other hermits

Second to last is hermitcraft I really enjoyed here and these are some of the things I made this year.
I first started with whenever I'd watch a new hermit I would draw their characters' face so if I decided to draw them any other time I would just have it there.
Next is some Stress appreciation with her in her normal outfit her Super Stress outfit and in her HEP disguise.
