It's quite funny having followed you for years and years and knowing Machete as his dark, bloodied, cunning (and always on the edge of getting horribly murdered for his hubris) incarnation, and coming into 2024 and just... yeah he's gay now. Maybe he's even happy. Redemption at last... perhaps he DID get assassinated indeed and all those AUs are just his personal afterlife (does he get to go to Heaven? Seems so!)

#redemption at last #personally I've always known he isn't as cool and cunning as he pretends to be #but when he didn't have anyone to interact with the dorkier more humane side never surfaced #the art I made of him was overwhelmingly serious and angry and sad and portrayed him in a more mysterious light #I didn't really talk about him or answer asks about what his deal is #(or any of my characters for that matter for years I just didn't feel comfortable opening up about them)#which is fine on it's own but I think he's currently benefitting from having a wider spectrum of emotions to choose from #doesn't mean that the dark bloodied cunning version is outdated I think these are traits that can coexist in a single character #answered #anonymous #but in a way seeing that he can be happy caring and genuine and gets tummy aches and likes snails and fresh bread #and has a small handful of loved ones and these positive qualities you might've not known about before #makes the misery more potent when they are taken away from him #at least in my opinion

Quick fiber arts tip: if you're knitting or crocheting or anything, get a book light. I've got one set up right behind me when I crochet, and it's so bright in a way that my lamp never is. It's made crocheting on darker yarns much easier, and I find that it strains my eyes less because I don't have to focus so hard on what I'm doing because I can actually see what I'm doing.

#art #fiber art #crochet #knitting #i got my book light from barnes and noble ngl and i love it so much #i would recommend a book light like mine where you can use either a battery power source or a plug-in power souce so that you have options #i just clipped mine behind me where my bedframe has a divet and it's really secure #i know this might seem like a common sense thing but i didn't really think about it until i tried it out for myself #and i personally prefer white or cool light versus warm light like my lamp so that's a bonus #these type of book lights can be expensive but i think it's well-worth the price (mine was about $25USD i think?)

Oh, I remember this broadcast very well! We met (properly, at least- I did work on their genome and construction plans before they were activated fully) long after I had already grown obsolete. Unit of Radioactive Decay is the second-oldest in our local group, and I consider us to be good friends, research partners, and distant neighbors.

[BROADCAST TRANSCRIPT]

GP: Do I know you?

GP: Silent Embrace of Leaves? Is that you?

URAD: Your name data appears to be out of date.

URAD: To a nearly comical degree.

sup yalllll hope you're all cool. things are crazy rn but. great too. finally got some free time and what do I do.....

I'm sorry to everyone that won't find this interesting, I did this like 100% for myself. this week I saw a presentation on the show Arcane, and I immediately rewatched it afterwards because after 2 years I remembered how much I love it. especially the art style... I'm sorry but I've always wanted to try it, and with my favorite characters even better. so good thing I had a Sebastian head sculpt lying around which I use for reference. 11 hours later.....

the head sculpt was bald and naked so I had to imagine the rest, but I think that kinda lends itself to the style. I was too impatient to wait for the 3d animation course I will be taking next year if not sooner, so I just painted over the model. and thankfully, I'm happy to say that I'm actually pleased. it's not perfect, but I got what I wanted •v• I can imagine more clearly.

but the most important thing to know is Happy October!!! have a lovely day

#admittedly. something in the painting process happened where it no longer was the exact face I wanted. that's the complicated thing about #shading... the shadows and lights can really change one's facial structure #but as long as i didnt mess up the already stable proportions...
