In the interest of keeping things fair to the contest, no assets were reused for this render. In other words, all modeling, rigging, shading, and texturing was done independently from anything I've done in the past so as not to have an unfair advantage. The Zane rig used here is a brand new one. Nonetheless, if the render is still not considered a valid entry despite this due to being 3D, I will not mind.
Unshaded version with a plain background, in case the original is visually confusing.
3D model of @cast-iron-bug's OC Phyllis I did as a prize for my DTIYS. I ended up liking the design enough to do a full body.
By far some of my best topology work so far, everything is more or less optimized for animation besides the face. I'm very happy with how it turned out, especially considering that I didn't have much framework for the back legs or the way the tail attaches to the rest of the body. The rig turned out a little wonky, but not bad considering I had to graft the front of a human meta-rig onto the back of a cat one, and that she was really only meant to be posed, I'm still fairly happy with it.
Additionally, I tried a new trick with the eyes, which I feel made them a little better than my past ones.
Due to how much thought was put into the topology this time around, I may post the wireframe later on, if I'm feeling up to it.
This one's not very polished whatsoever, but that's since this was more for the sake of The Funny than for the sake of animation like the last two.
Originally I was going to do a full dance loop, but Calypsolemon and Unknown-Sigils convinced me that this was funnier. Or more intimidating. Inconclusive.
The song is Numb 80s Remix
I definitely wasn't about to make his whole outfit he has in this scene from scratch, but I DID try to give him the mustache. Didn't work out, sadly. I'll figure out accessories one day.
@spinchip 's OC Delete! The two real challenges for this one were the transparent blue material for her skin and modeling the jacket. The iridescent material was actually surprisingly easy to pull off! As you can probably tell, her jacket doesn't exactly qualify as "low poly" like the rest of her; In order to show off the material like I wanted I actually had to do some sculpting. I'm surprisingly happy with how the wrinkles turned out! Especially since my last sculpting attempt may very well qualify as nightmare fuel. Unlike Snake Jaguar and Mr. E (Who I don't think I ended up ever actually posting here) she's just a bust and isn't rigged at all due to the fact that getting her skin to not phase through her bones whenever she moved would be a NIGHTMARE. Maybe I'll approach that challenge when I'm more experienced.
