j'ai disparu...

mais je suis là mtn ahaha

Ce soir j'étais un peu nostalgique (bon comme d'hab) mais plus particulièrement de la période 2012, voir 2013. Quand je prenais le métro avec ma meilleure amie de l'époque, après les cours et on faisait un tour de la ville puis on rentrait. On faisait des skypes chaque soir, à la télé en fond il y avait toujours Lou dans le salon bien silencieux, et la chaise que Nancy nous avait passée (comme les rockin chair là). On passait notre temps sur Tumblr (et qui voilà, 10 ans après je suis tjr là ahaha truc de dingue).

Je passais mes soirées dans ma chambre à Ransart tout en haut, sous ma couette mauve, à lire des livres.

J'avais les cheveux rouge et je mettais la tonne de crayon noir autour de mes yeux. C'était moi, mon manteau long noir et mes écouteurs contre le monde les matins d'hiver.

Tout ce que je veux c'est être en 2012 regarder LOL la version française pendant qu'il y a grève de bus et qu'il neigeait bien dehors.

J'écris tout ceci en écoutant Give me love, ou bien M83-Midnight city, tellement 2012...

On the isolated heights on the way to Ransart was the ruin of a one-time estaminet - dubbed 'Bellevue' on account of the wide view of the front that was afforded from it - and that was a place I came to love, in spite of its exposed situation. From there, the view stretched over the dead land, whose defunct villages were linked by roads that had no traffic on them, and on which no living creatures was to be seen. In the distance glimmered the outline of the abandoned city of Arras, and round to the right the shining chalk mine-craters of St Eloi. The weedy fields lay barren under the passing clouds and the shadows of clouds, and the tightly woven web of trenches spreads its little white and yellow links, secured by lengthy communication trenches. From time to time, there was a puff of smoke from a shell lobbed into the air as if by a ghostly hand; or the ball of shrapnel hung over the wasteland like a great white flak slowly melting. The aspect of the landscape was dark and fantastic, the war had erased everything attractive or appealing from the scene, and etched its own brazen features, to appal the lonely onlooker.  The desolation and the profound silence, sporadically broken by the crump of shells, were heightened by the sorry impression of devastation. Ripped haversacks, broken rifles, scraps of cloth, counterpointed grotesquely with children's toys, shell fuses, deep craters from explosions, bottles, harvest implements, shredded books, battered household gear, holes whose gaping darkness betrayed the presence of basements, where the bodies of the unlucky inhabitants of the houses were gnawed by the particularly assiduous swarms of rats; a little espaliered peach tree despoiled of its sustaining wall, and spreading its arms pitifully; in the cattle byres and stables and barns the bones of livestock still dangling from their chains; trenches dug through the ravaged gardens, in among sprouting bulbs of onions, wormwood, rhubarb, narcissus, buried under weeds; on the neighbouring fields grain barns, through whose roofs the grain was already sprouting; all that, with a half-buried communication trench running through it, and all suffused with the smell of burning and decay. Sad thoughts are apt to sneak up on the warrior in such a locale, when he thinks of those who only recently led their lives in tranquility.

Civilians heartily welcomed and cheered the Battalion on its arrival especially when the Band formed up in front of Battalion Hdqrs and struck up the LA MARSEILLAISE. Every effort was made by the people to make things comfortable for the men. Lieut. C. Cook proceeded on Course to 1st Army Infantry School. Lieut. J.N. MacRae and 1 O.R. returned from leave. Lieut.   8 Battalion moved off at 09.00 hours and crossed the Belgian boundary at QUIVERAIN, a village 2 kilometers further on. Battalion rested here until about 12.30 when it moved on to ELOUGES which it reached about 15.00 hours. Here again the civilians, free again after 4 years of bondage, expressed great joy on the Battalion’s arrival. The music of the Band when it played LA MARSEILLAISE and LA BRABANCONNE was drowned out by the cheering of the people who crowded the streets, dancing up and down to the tune of the music. 9 The Battalion moved off in Fighting Order at dawn over jumped over the 25th Canadian Battalion between ELOUGES and WASMES and met no opposition as they moved along to FRAMERIERES where Battalion Hdqrs., was established. Rear details moved off at 10.00 hours and marched via DOUR – PETIT WASMES – PATURAGS to FRAMERIERES. The people along the route overjoyed to be free again, cheered the troops as they passed along, loading them down with flowers and victuals of all kinds. During the night the Battalion pushed forward and established a line of posts through NORCHAIN. 1 O.R. arrived as a reinforcement. 1 O.R. from hospital. CIPLY

10 At 04:00 hours the Battalion pushed forward and established posts in CIPLY and HYON meeting very little opposition. Rear Details moved up from FRAMERIERES and reached CIPLY about 10.00 hours. There was considerable scattered shelling of village and vicinity till 15.00 hours, when the enemy guns were silenced by our batteries. 4 O.Rs proceeded on leave. 3 O.R’s returned from leave. 1 O.R. retd from hospital. 10 O.R’s wounded, 1 O.R. Killed in Action. 11 At 07.25 hours a wire was received from Brigade stating that hostilities would cease at 11.00 hours that day and for the Battalion to stand fast at the line reached at that hour. Major Bell congratulated the Battalion on its fine work during recent operations. As an appreciation, the Maire, on behalf of the village of CIPLY, presented the Battalion with a Belgian Flag. Lieut.
