I could get used to running in the morning. There is no wind and very few people on the beach. Today the sand was firm due to overnight rain. I ran down the beach for a bit then headed back home. Daughter was coming to collect me. We had an adventure planned for my birthday. We headed to Rangiora a small town about 20km from Christchurch for a day of shopping and visiting lovely eateries. We had a lovely time. We went to a cafe for morning tea which had a working beehive in it. Of course I was fascinated with that, they also had lots of houseplants for sale. I resisted the plants as I really do have too many. Fabric shopping also happened and birthday earrings were purchased. All in all it was a lovely relaxed day with my favourite girl.

25.06.2023, ride 3 for June!
Rally was at Okuku pony club grounds today! We were invited over (Belfast and Oxford pony clubs) to try out their new cross country course, which was fabulous to see all the little clubs being friends and getting along 🎉
Ed did some of his best jumping yet 🙌 and he was so excited and proud of himself that he dumped me in the mud 🤷♀️😂 But we’re feeling much more confident for the Melwood Teams event next month! Entries are confirmed and we’re in the 45cm with the big kids 💪
Gem was an absolute superstar for mum, she did all the jumps by herself and was great to leave her friends after she got braver near the middle of the lesson! 🙌 Mum is really enjoying her now and they’re making a great team ❤️
Next rally is at the Rangiora pony club grounds on the 9th and since it’s eventing season, we get to try out their cross country course too 😂

Rode out to Rolleston today. Took the side road rather than the motorway because I'm slowly working up to going faster. Stopped by Cookie Time on the way back because I can't say no to bulk bags of cookies.
I think one of my next goals will be Rangiora, potentially onwards to Oxford. That'll get me onto Ashley Gorge and an eventual Sheffield Pie Shop run.
