the effect you see here is produded by having a 2d array based map, three visible points, and swapping out the textures in each of those points based on what can be seen from player's position and angle.
e.g. if there were gates in each direction you're facing you would see this
once i take more resource photos ill be able to swap between not just "empty space" and "gate" but also things like "street lamp" and "pipe covered wall".
though i need to actually take all my source photos with that in mind... if the angles aren't correct, the perspective will definitely look weird as hell.
