i don’t want to get into this at 7 in the morning but so much of the current (and wack) thought around lgbt stuff came out of 2010s tumblr which came out of 15 year olds misinterpreting gender theory and feminist philosophy texts and and cherry picking historical information to validate their existing world view. and it makes me nuts that almost no one talks about or remembers it

#and now it affects irl language and policy of lgbt orgs and their funders #when people brush off ‘discourse’ as something that doesn’t exist offline it makes me crazy. bc 1) that ship has sailed across the board #there is no meaningful online offline distinction. 2) we already have seen this discourse permeate culture so successfully that no one #questions or talks about its origins anymore. like come onnn
