This has been knocking my noggin since Selkie YN came to be, but if Eclipse is hiding their seal skin, and he still needs to hunt that leaves out skinless selkie alone in human form. What would happen if Micheal and Vanessa found them? I feel like it would be really confusing considering it’s just this random human with barley anything on in the middle of the Arctic like “how have you not frozen to death”and maybe they take them back to base?

Michael and Vanessa would be stunned to find a human in practically nothing out in the Arctic. They'd act quickly to get Y/N back to shelter and warmth, and Y/N is very confused and skittish but ultimately goes with them. They get Y/N dressed and 'warmed up' while asking many questions that Y/N outright doesn't answer, preferring silence and simply responding with head nods or shakes.

Michael has his suspicions. Vanessa is just glad they found Y/N before they froze to death.

Unfortunately for the helpful humans, when Eclipse returns, seal skin in hand and his selkie nowhere to be found, he's panicked, then furious. He spies the footprints across the snow, leading inland.

Now he's on the hunt for blood and his selkie.

Selkie! Y/N situation! They try and get their seal skin back by saying they just want to swim with Eclipse (they want to get away and try and mix themselves with a group of seals)

Y/N could certainly coax Eclipse into going for a swim, but getting away from him in their seal form isn't so simple. Try as Y/N might, Eclipse has their fur memorized—how could he not? Eclipse is also built to hunt delicious morsels like Y/N, and though they would slip and dip out of sight among the crowd of their familiar friends, darting and weaving over and under glaciers and ice floes, finally jumping to the frozen surface to shed their fur just to gobble up the bitter-cold air—he's there. Eclipse leans on the edge of your brief oasis, thrumming his claws against the blue ice. He's not happy.

"I thought you could be good with your fur. I see that's not the case. You can't swim with me until you learn to behave. Now—come closer. I will swim you back and you will not struggle; you've tested me enough today, doll."

Selkie YN offering to show Eclipse her pup without her skin but then taking it as a chance to try and get away with her baby would be baaaad idea

Selkie Y/N is uber protective of your seal coat and your baby's, and escaping to keep both of yours safe would be a desperate effort, but Eclipse knows when prey you get skittish, looking for a way out. With your baby in your arms, you don't get far on human legs and your pup is too young to go into the water without significant aid and protection.

It's a bit feeble in his mind, you trying to leave, but that just speaks to how you belong with him.

Eclipse catches you, gently, as you are holding your baby, but Eclipse still makes it clear that he thinks you might need to stay closer. You and your pup. His growl is right in your ear. He'll remind you to be good. Then, not letting you go, he'll swim you and your pup back to familiar waters, where you're going to stay. He'll see to it.

All I could think of with this is Eclipse’s inner dialogue being like “damn bitch you live like this?”

Yeah, that's about right. He just looks at Y/N's feet like hmmm that won't do in the water at all :/ but he finds every part of Y/N cute so the weird flippers still have their charms.

Finally, a friend for Hare Y/N that doesn't terrify them!!

JUMPING SO FAST ON POLAR BEAT YN AND ECLIPSE SEEING THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME

Like you know how Polar bears will wait at breathing holes for seals? Imagine Eclipse is chasing a seal and it jumps out the water only to get mauled by Polar bear YN in all their vicious glory. They are sharp teeth and their white fur and mouth bloodied from the kill that he was after. They are a wonder in his eyes, never has he seen something like them. He just watches them from a distance in wonder, forgetting about the lost kill and simply watching this stranger with adoration in his eyes.

You know how animals get really bloody when they kill their food and they simply are not aware/do not care how matted their fur is with gore and how bright the blood stains are? Yeah, that's Y/N snacking.

Eclipse couldn't conceive of a lovelier sight. You're so sweet when you smile and wave, oblivious to the catch you stole and how violent you appear.

Mothman Moon and Mothman YN interaction is fluttering in my brain when they see eachother in the woods like YN is like “dude what are you doing get out of my house, I have company” proceed to cut to Eclipse with goop dripping out of him

Okay so I’ve been having fanfic brain rot and I’ve seen a lot of Sleuth Jesters YN art but I always see a similar shape and hair type (not bad by the way!) and wanted to play the idea of what was at first a more masc YN but then it turned into wanting to do different ponytails aaaaa
