I never, ever, EVER want to be in ~A Fandom~ ever again, especially not in a fandom that is large and old and well-established. I am too old, and I'm carrying too many scars from too many Fandom wars over the past 40 years

I want to talk about ALL THE THINGS about my new love, and talk to people who know MORE about them than me (as opposed to the friends I am grabbing by the throat and shouting 'listen to this, you will find it amazing!') and do all the fannish theorising and hermeneutics and earnest discussion because there is a point where it stops being fun to do that by yourself

And I don't know how to recconcile those two conflicting urges
