[progress] 3D printing in the medical sector

On Tuesday september 4th, the group had a lecture regarding 3D printing. This lecture gave good insights in the 3D printing area itself; however we were told to narrow our scope down to the medical sector, since many groups picked 3D printing as their main topic. 

At first, the group thought of Philips Healthcare. A company which is obviously very related to the Eindhoven Area and is very innovative in 3D printing. An article on their website was found with some credentials, which lead to some e-mail traffic back and forth. Ultimately the group got forwarded to a division in the US, since 3D printing was especially located there. They seemed very helpful and we are trying to set up a Skype meeting for next monday.

Besides Philips Healthcare, the group visited the 3D printinglab at the Fontys. They gave us some new contacts, communication is still pending at this moment.

Furthermore, the group have found a webinar from Metronic, a 35m online lecture which gave very good insights in the PLC and ValueChain. 

We’re very looking forward for next week! A skype call with such a division of Philips Healthcare over such a short period of time seems more than the group could have hoped for.

A short documentary film I made recently with @5301studio about printmaking processes - Intaglio. After woodcut print, the intaglio emerged in Europe and Germany used to make playing cards by using drypoint technique in the late 1430s.
