Marbling (Ebru) technique was applied on the paper. The work was prepared using the marbling technique, an ancient art technique that dates back to the 9th century.
In this technique, the density of water is increased with some materials added to water.
Then, specially prepared paints that do not dissolve in water and do not mix with water are poured onto the surface of the water.
Then the artist creates his pattern on the surface of the water with some tools.
In the last stage, the trace on the surface of the water is passed to the paper by means of the paper laid on the surface of the water.
The work left to dry is ready.
If desired, new patterns can be added on the dried work later with different technicians.
The work is framed.

for this week's Snark Saturday i tried teach ing myself to draw The Snark......... which also meant trying to teach myself how bugs work in general, which turns out not to be intuitive for someone who's only really gotten good at drawing humans and various little bipedal guys before now
i only got so far as copying photos of the models bc other things had me in their grip this week! i need to work a little harder before i understand how to draw it in different poses but this was very fun nonetheless.

the one with gordon might get digitized and colored if i have time in the next few weeks between the other things i'm trying to get done. the idea is that they're both flashbanging you with their bright green eyes Spirit Phone style

OKAYYYYY okay okay. i will post them now instead of being a perfectionist about it. behold my genderfluid dimension-hopping gamer self-insert. ey don't have a name other than The Dispatcher but you can call em whatever you want!

The Dispatcher is able to access other dimensions. she really wants to change every world's fate for the better but hates the idea of being caught by whatever sort of Time Police might be out there. in order to maintain a sense of plausible deniability, he mostly avoids physically entering and messing around in other timelines but guides people in key positions to make more optimal choices over radio and other communications systems! in other words, they alter destiny via backseat gaming.
the human disguise is because it loves humans, as well as for humans' comfort in the rare case that ey actually present themself in a physical form to the folks they're trying to help. the use of the title "The Dispatcher" is for similar reasons. he's found most people take him more seriously when she calls herself that as opposed to "your conscience" or "your spirit guide."
per overall demeanor is best described as "anxiously optimistic." they can't help but have a sense of humor, even (or maybe especially) in stressful situations. he's delighted by puns and wordplay and situational comedy, often cracking jokes in others' company that are only for herself.
as stated in the image, any pronouns including neos are fine. per favorites are probably they, ey, and per; he, she, and it are all close runners-up. it's ok to switch between pronouns as often as you want, and it's also okay just to pick one and use it forever! they don't care, and they honestly like gathering info on how different people perceive them gender-wise.

i drew atlas a few times in 2022, once for that year's art exchange and another couple times for artfight!!
i drew atlas again for artfight 2023 when i decided to do an infinitely tessellating bust shot for funsies
as you can see i am allergic to drawing this guy the same way twice. some of that is due to his design developing over time and some of that is due to my art style being in constant flux as i figure out how i want my work to look! it's so fun to look at all my atlas drawings next to one another. it's like we're growing up together. this thing is awesome he is like a brother to me
