No spoilers, just talking highly of a great horror/action film. Hands down one of the best Predator movies I've seen in a long time! First of all, the native representation was great to see in this movie. No brown facing or using some celebrities to play an Indian and it was great to see. Second of all, the way that Predator looked and the high tech at the time but primitive looking weaponry it used was amazing. And let's not forget that because of the historical time frame it's set in we see the colonizers come in and sh*t gets crazy real quick! Mr Myers is back once again and After months of speculation, hopefullness and bad taste for the fans the 5th entry of the predator franchise PREY is finally here to stream. Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, "Prey" is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to the Predator. In coming into this film I was hopeful, but my concern still remained, overall PREY is a predator film done right... In most cases. It still has its issues but its not really enough to hurt the film in its entirety, PREY does brings a fresh take to the franchise, with its setting and direction, as being noted as a prequel to the 80s original it gives off a familiar vibe, but also new approach to the predator lore and its portrayal. The pacing however seems a bit off in some cases, as though we've skipped a good 15 minutes of film or so, but this can be considered a benefit as it doesn't dwell on any explanation, and more or less goes straight into the suspense and thrills. Through performances our lead actress Amber Midthunder delivers a strong quality in her character, although not much is really explored in her character apart from wanting to be a hunter herself and the means to Prove it, this can be said to the rest of the characters, not much to go on unfortunately and quite 2 dimensional. 10 years when Predators came in theaters and it was the third sequel to the Predator franchise. The Predator went down to earth to hunt and now we are going to their home planet but still being hunt by more than one Predator. The third one is actually good and the action is still good and the film holds up plus the Predators are still great, "No CGI require". It's not better than the first one but it does belong to the franchise or should I say the Predator trilogy because they should've end it as trilogy instead. One powerful oraganism and the ultimate hunter, these two different alien species battle off in AVP: Alien vs Predator. I always wanted to see it when I was a kid, it was shown in comics, video games, toys advertisement and it took them years to bring these two brawl. However due to mixture reviews of this movie and plus it was an PG-13 instead of rated R it wasn't too bad of a film and the fights were pretty epic but unfortunately it wasn't too high up much and focus on the humans and making the xenomorphs and the predators being the secondary characters. The storyline was fair but I felt there were something missing to the plot and only wish they could've done better but it's still a fair movie and watchable.
