History of Rann Utsav
Rann Utsav is one of the most notable cultural events of Gujarat. It is also referred to as Kutch festival. The travel and tourism department of Gujarat took the initiative to launch the festival in order to showcase the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the Kutch region.
When is the Utsav Held?
Around the winter months spanning between November and February, the festive colors of Rann Utsav fill the arid and desert with a vast array of colors that reflect energy, merriment, entertainment, traditions, history. This 2022-2023, the Utsav is scheduled to be held between November 1st 2022 and February 20th, 2023
What is the Utsav Venue?
The Rann Utsav is a happening winter festival that makes Dhordo, the last of villages in Gujarat’s Bhuj city come alive with lots of mirth, action and a true spirit of carnival. The festival starts at Dhordo and then goes around the entire Kutch region. When the closing day of the festival arrives, the festival again comes back to Dhordo for the closing ceremony.
