Dojima falling in love with a single mother cop reader

Characters: Ryotaro Dojima x Fem!Reader

Dojima has one skill mastered in life and that's avoidance. Even if he was already friends with you and worked well with you in investigations he'll most likely start avoiding you to protect himself emotionally. He isn't over his wives death and doesn't know how you'll affect Nanako if he accepts his feelings towards you and starts trying to flirt with you.

Despite his rough exterior Dojima is a caring soul hardened by the many hardships he's experienced. He heavily prioritizes your feelings even though he doesn't know how to express it. He also doesn't want you being hurt more by his advances. He knows you're going through a rough divorce with your ex-husband, who was heavily abusive towards you. He knows you aren't ready for another relationship for now which adds to his hesitance.

For awhile, things are gonna be rough between you two as Dojima will continually try to avoid you and not solve the issue of how strained your friendship is getting. It would either take Yu pushing him or Nanakos influence on him because she wanted to play with your kid to get Dojima to finally get the courage to face the situation head on.

Dojima would nervously approach you, getting ready for any sort of insult or rage aimed towards him that you were all in the right to express. No matter if you did or not he would still feel slightly guilty at the matter, but after sitting down and talking with you past all the anger and stress it feels like a massive weight has been lifted off of his shoulders.

Whenever your child has playdates with Nanako you two will usually sit to the side, drinking coffee and chatting. Whenever the mood gets dark Dojima tries his best to comfort you, knowing you're mentally struggling throughout this divorce. Dojima is more of a solutions instead of comfort guy, so he will always suggest building a case against your ex-husband and support you all the way if you actually decide too.

Instead of actively blocking you off, Dojima has started re-including you into his daily life. Nanako has become more fond with you and your child, Yu has also become acquainted with the both of you. Maybe... Just maybe, no. Dojima shakes the feelings off, he'll wait for now. Not until you're emotionally recovering, but maybe one day he'll stop running from his feelings.
