was looking up this guy to see if he’d been in persons of interest because he looked like one of the bad guys from it but turns out bro fucking lived it
#for context the central plot of the show is that there’s a machine called the machine and it’s whole purpose is to track peoples every move#it has access to every security cam in new york (because of course it’s in new york) tracks payments it does so much shit#and also is not entirely legal. for obvious reasons#the point of the machine is to clock terrorist attacks before they happen by spitting out the social security number of someone involved#it’s a government tool but the guy who built it also has access to it and hired (?) this disgraced ex-cia agent to do vigilante work#because while the machine was meant to detect future attacks it also detects any violent pre-meditated crime#and since he wasn’t able to do anything to stop these things from happening himself he got the other guy to go out into the field for him#although interestingly the machine either can’t determine or can’t say if the number it gives them is victim or perpetrator.#all it gives them is a number and they need to figure everything out themselves and stop the event before it happens#bearing in mind the machine only gives a number if someone’s life is in danger [comma] not petty crimes#people smuggling hostage situations domestic abuse coordinated assassinations that type of stuff#and they usually only have 24 to 48 hours to act before it goes to shit#i’m rambling now. anyway go watch persons of interest
