“A Weaving of Time” by LaNia Roberts @bylania, currently on display at @parlorroomsessions until April 30th. LaNia Roberts seeks to dismantle the lies we internalize and take in as truth. Her studio practice exists in the safer spaces she creates for people to share their personal stories while also grappling with the black female gaze, self portraiture, relating the past to the present, and the multidimensionality of blackness in her multimedia work. Interested in the boundaries of blackness and self portraiture, LaNia Roberts shares through her practice a look into oneself through reflections of her own experiences through others storytelling. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Roberts is currently a senior Painting major at Syracuse University, Class of 2018. 👑 . . #supportblackart #LaNiaRoberts #photocollage #collage #collageart #parlorroomsessions #artsy #artexhibit #nycart #kentuckyartist #blackness #reflections #storytelling #america #artofvisuals #artisttowatch #blackinamerica #blackart #veryblack #multidimensional #artlovers #blkcreatives
