This snare was tricked out with 10-lug Die-cast hoops, offset black chrome tube lugs in alternating lengths, DW MG + 3P throw offs andbutt, 42-strand Canopus Backbeat wires, 2 Badges with brass screws, and 3 Air vents. This snare sounds absolutely massive with a wide open sound and awesome projection WITH MUSICAL TONE. This might not be bell brass, but I say it’s pretty close, and at a fraction of the cost of a bell brass snare. It’s so heavy that even I have difficulty lifting it with one hand; this is an injury waiting to happen if you don’t treat it with respect. Use two hands and don’t try to be hero; you will hurt yourself. I expect to hear the howls of approval from the drummers that get to try this snare. Jut ask Dion. We found a very simple solution to allow deeper snares to increase in their sensitivity. With this simple mod, even a 10” deep snare can play a bolero at ~ppp if you wanted to: we simple add an internal snare wire to be in contact with the batter skin. It’s a very simple, and most importantly CHEAP upgrade (only $60). Now you don’t need to buy a one-trick-pony piccolo snare just to get that extra sensitivity needed for a piece. That would simply not make sense. Unless, of course, you are buying our pancake snare ($180) which is even more sensitive than either a piccolo or this mod. Custom 14x6.5 Black Nickel Brass snare for the amazing, Grammy-nominated, Jerry Chua. Jerry has been my mentor since I was a wee teen, so it is such an honour to build this snare for someone that I respect so much. 14x14 Purpleheart Stave Baritone SNOM (Snare/ floor tom) with a hand-rubbed high gloss finish, quite possibly the first in Singapore. This is the first of our fully-custom Pantheon Elite series drums. We used the “double-staining” technique to tone the colour of the wood with black and purple to enhance the complexity of the grain. The shell was originally a pink/ brown mix of open-grained staves and it took plenty of back-breaking work to oil, seal, harden, stain, varnish, sand, glaze, polish, and wax. We finished it off with a selection of premium hardware for maximum versatility. We selected the thickest 12.7mm floor tom mounts and legs to handle the weight of this beast; it’s heavier than the bass drum! Above all, the SOUND of this snare is simply fantastic: focused, thick tone with plenty of projection and articulation. This snare can play it all. A few weeks ago I decided to work more from home, so I have spent many hours repurposing the rooms of my house. It’s not complete of course but it’s getting there.
