I genuinely just feel bad for (the multiple) people in dainties who refuse to (and even pride themselves on (not)) engaging with female characters or even drawing them. When I first got into closed species years ago I was the same way, adamant I couldn't connect to girls but in reality it was just deep-seated internalized misogyny that was wrapped up in a whole bunch of trans-dude feelings I hadn't yet fully analyzed. Now I'd say I have more female OCs than not. I don't know why this kind of mindset is especially prevalent in this CS but it is kind of exhausting at this point. The amount of members that have 'male only artist' or 'DO NOT OFFER ME FEMALE OCS OR I WILL DIE' (exaggerated of course but not far off the mark) in their bios or trade ads is just depressing.

I think the community would benefit significantly from a wake-up call to people’s internal misogyny.

Im one of the basal owners and if I could pull my basal from the species I would. That basal is staying with me out of spite (I do draw them often).

Not being able to void “official” dainties is so stupid if you ask me. Once the character is yours (especially if you spent a lot for them), you should have the right to do whatever you want with them.

I actually can't complain, given the drama going around from other ARPG CSs lately. I prefer the biggest thing people complain about is silence, or purchase difficulty. I like that slots are limited at a fixed price, and I also like it's randomized but not repeatable. Likewise with their adopts. Prevents people from overspending, and also maintains rarity. I don't feel like im being shilled by constant "limited time" events. I can understand the critique about the species maybe supposed to be a more mature space, though I don't think it's possible for them to make it 18+ at this point if they've already sanitized their lore and have younger people in ownership of their species. If they made it 18+ they'd null a portion of their community's purchases. The aphrodisiac spit thing is a really odd remnant of of the species origins i've heard about. If it were me I'd just remove that piece of canon lore entirely. Mostly because It's benign and weird 🫥. I don't particularly think that artistic nudity is a problem, especially since it's barbiedoll. That can be a grey area, though i think i've yet to see anything comparable to smut. I definitely wouldn't mind art games, or events to inspire more in-community interaction. I've made a group of friends where we've integrated our dainties into our story telling, but it would be neat if there were more official avenues people could interact with each other.

I think a huge complaint the community has had is the lack of ways to creatively interact with each other outside of trades and art prompts. It’s very cool you managed to do that with friends anon, I hope others can do the same.

The lack of anything else to do in the community is likely why it’s slowly becoming less active in Dainties…

My personal opinion? If pru doesn't step up, her species will either rot and be forgotten or she has to sell it to someone who can take ACTUAL care of it.

If Pru sells the species there will be a HUGE price tag I can already tell… Honestly I hope the species rots like all the other older cs. It shouldn’t be around anymore.

To add more fuel, I just feel like Dainties are just being forgotten by Pru and the mods and the Discord is reflecting that. A lot of the big activities (mod sales, dainties batches, etc) are all at the end of the month and not spread out through the month. For me, I don't feel like talking in the server since there isn't anything to talk about until the new dainties release.

Might be wrong but honestly, what else is there to discuss in the server? The monthly prompts (which are being done closer to the end of the month and also no one really has time to talk about)?

Also to add to the trade channel, I think it just that more people have either gotten rid of the ones they didn't want and now are holding onto their current dainties or ones they like, or the dainty market doesn't have enough "good" dainties available for people to want to trade.

It seems like Pru’s showing her true colours with how she really feels about Dainties; I knew she never cared about the community and only cared about how much money it makes for her.

The server revamp/creation of a new server was going to kill any activity, and the introduction of Basals was going to kill them even more. Now look, there used to be events spread out within a month and now everything is pushed right to the end. That is no way to run a species if you want to keep your members.

If Pru wants to keep her cash cow, she better step up her game and make the species enjoyable again.

I honestly hate the dainty species now, I haven't been in it for long but honestly the community is horrible. Certain people have made the species hell for me to enjoy.

Its been the most toxic community I've ever been in. The complements in the art channel are always fake if any at all.

And the fact you can't remove your dainty from the masterlist, I want to remove my dainty from the ml so I don't have to be associated with the species anymore.

Seeing recent asks talking about how bad the species is has made me create something for community members, both current and former, to use to voice their issues with dainties overall.

I've been in dainties for too damn long, and I had to sit down today and really think about wtf I'm even doing here anymore. I was once drawn in by how beautiful the adopts used to be, but it's safe to say that the charm just isn't there anymore. On top of all the cliques, casual misogyny, and pop artist ass patting, I think it's time to call it quits. I'm sorry if I sound rude, I'm just mad at myself for giving this shit attention and money for a good part of a decade.

Damn I miss the Old-School Old base Dainty Times. Very detailed and cute designs. There wasnt a design that i hated, but Now looking at Dainties just makes me sad. It doesnt feel like the same species anymore.

This is the pettiest shit I've ever sent in, so sorry in advance. I am so tired of mods letting their friends slip under the radar when it comes to breaking dainty TOS. Reported someone selling a dainty to me for more than it was bought for since I realized I was scammed and got told that it would be taken care of and that they would be banned. Except that the user is still active. Searched their messages and found out they were friends with some mods. It makes me so frustrated with the species but also I'm scared of saying anything because I depend on commissions and being kicked out would make me lose a major revenue stream.

Context for previous anon's statement: someone in the questions/suggestions channel asked if they could give their (unapproved) design to their friend, since they weren't connecting with it, and the mods said it wasn't allowed because it was a trade of an unapproved dainty design.

I mean the design could be made a one-off??? I know people who have made designs into one-offs.

I redesigned a lot of dainties to be more fem presenting/ have bigger breasts and people change them into being men and it always gets me a bit upset. Thankfully not all of them change them and it's up to the owner buy its just so tiresome to see so much guys on this CS

This... Is so real. It was so hard getting my proud collection of my adorable girlies. I literally have only 1 female dainty that was never redesigned or had a design of a femboy.

Mind you, i had to redesign an absurd amount of femboy dainties into girls.💀I'm not kidding. I own a decent amount of dainties (6 or so atm) and used to own many more. They were ALL male at one point, EXCEPT FOR ONE... ONE. AND IT'S MY NEWEST.

I'm trans myself, but i love female characters. I always prefer drawing them, writing them and i can better connect to them. This honestly shouldn't be an issue, it makes me sad and infuriates me. "DON'T OFFER ME A FEMALE CHARACTER, INSTANT DECLINE" is also madly disrespectful. I always stay respectful towards both genders, even if i have an obvious preference.
