Day 3 of Via’s Taycember
pairing: oscar piastri x reader
wc: 704
cw: fluff, kissing
an: no one mention how late this is tyy
There's somethin' bout the way the street looks when it's just rained; there's a glow off the pavement
The golden-pink sunset reflects off the pavement and onto you, skin glowing with an angelic halo. Oscar can’t keep his eyes off of you as you two walk down the tree-lined streets, leaves glistening with fresh raindrops from the storm mere hours ago.
Hand-in hand, he listens to you ramble on about the day out, the delicious desserts served, the endless dancing with your friends and with Oscar, how much lighter you felt; it was just what you needed after a stressful time.
You walk me to the car and you know I wanna ask you to dance right there in the middle of the parking lot
Your hand tightens as you reach his car at the far end of the parking lot, a sign Oscar would never miss. Before a word can even escape your smudged scarlet lips, his slightly red ones lift at the corners as he suddenly twirls you around, eliciting a gleeful shriek from you as you startle with delight. He dips you low, arm strong under your back, the sun shining off his dancing brown eyes before he kisses you, reddening his lips even more.
We're drivin' down the road, I wonder if you know. I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now but you're just so cool, run your hands through your hair absent mindedly makin' me want you
One hand on the wheel, the other squeezing your thigh, Oscar focuses on the golden road as you two drive down the open roads through fields of cattle and corn. There’s nothing to distract you from watching his veins pop out when his grip tightens as he turns the wheel or how his long, soft fingers stroke up and down your thigh. Or from his face, aglow with laughter from a small joke you just made, and you have to wonder. Does he know how much these little pieces of him, these little actions, only make you want him more? He was all yours of course, but there was just that exciting prospect that there was more for the both of you, in the near future.
And I don't know how it gets better than this, you take my hand and drag me head first, fearless
You barely have time to be confused when Oscar suddenly stops the car on the side of the road, before he’s out and grabs your hand, pulling you out. Realization dawns on you when you see the little patch of wildflowers, blue yellow and white, and he’s spinning you around, hands never letting you go, and you dance to your own music, fearless of any strangers watching as you two laugh in delight at the spontaneous moment.
Or of the uncertain road that lay ahead in your shared future.
So baby drive slow 'til we run out of road in this one horse town. I wanna stay right here in this passenger seat, you put your eyes on me in this moment now capture it, remember it.
Back in the car, you two take your time driving down the sunlit road, admiring the many coloured florae decorating the roadsides, pointing out the little frogs and butterflies and bees that dance around the blooming petals.
In the distance, you hear the neighing of the only horse kept in this little town. You look through your window towards the oud, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but alas, he’s elsewhere in the fields. You turn back to greet Oscar’s bright blue eyes, paying you more attention on the road, and you simply want to live in this moment forever.
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance in a storm in my best dress, fearless.
The rain comes down from nowhere. It’s vicious, pelting the windows, winds howling with the sound of a hundred voices, but neither of you feels terrified at all.
When you come upon an unavoidable path of mud on the road, Oscar stops the car, and you both sit in silence, patiently waiting out the storm.
All it takes is one shared glance and you both are suddenly outside, immediately soaked through your clothes, and as you take each other's hands, you laugh.
You dance to the sounds of the wind and the water, to the melody of your open laughs and his deep ones, and you both know, that despite every storm of racing or schooling, or of your own families or your future one, you two will always have each other.
Well you stood there with me in the doorway. My hands shake I'm not usually this way but you pull me in and I'm a little more brave. It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really something, it's fearless
The rain lets up enough for you to make it home, the both of you huddling under your doorway as you fumble for your keys with shaking fingers as the cold has finally made its presence clear, or perhaps it was his unnerving gaze on you.
He gently cups your face as he pulls you in for a kiss, the first after dancing in the rain and his lips are so, so soft and you feel as if they fill you up with warmth as you kiss him back, fearlessly.
In my best dress, fearless
