have to buy a christmas present for my little cousin whos on my non jewish side but is still jewish through her dad and all ik about her is that she likes books but its so harddddddd bc it seems like every book i remember reading at her age that im not worried about being too old for her is about jewish kids suffering unimaginably and like i dont want to fuck her up like that :/

#the borderline fetishistic british obsession with the holocaust is like. harmful to jews #or like. i thought abt getting her skulduggery pleasant but despite that series being rlly good overall ik the descriptions of fat people #in the first few books also really fucked me up and thats also bad!#and then a lot of them i think are good when u have the capacity to like read them as an adult with an understanding of the colonial stuff #but once again reading it as a kid fucks u up
