"Remember, what you're searching for as the self, is already at the point that you're looking from" - Mooji
We often hear around people talking about "purpose", on the media, at schools, at churches and even at home or just among friends. Talking about finding out what does it mean when you speak about a purpose? is there even such a thing? how do you go about discovering it or perhaps you have already discovered it?
The truth about PURPOSE is that is it similar to TRUTH because TRUTH can not be "found" because it can never get lost but only the one who is searching will get lost. It can not be invented also, it's either it is there or it was never there.
A purpose can only be discovered or unveiled. This means you discover what is near you, what is closer to you, what is aligned with you, what is aligned with self that everyone is (consciousness). What you discover on earth is what already exists inside you and beyond you (the person). Same as unveiling the truth means it was always there but you came to the realization of it and reconnected with it or removed what was blocking the connection or the "seeing".
I realize that this might sound complex and confusing to some, if not most, and some might think this message is not necessary for them to read because they already have it "figured out". Discovering your purpose is not something that you figure out with your own mind (the person) and move on with business as usual but it is what manifest itself in you while you unaware or aware of it, doesn't matter. This is why I believe that it is at the easiest to find your purpose when you're still clear off identity but once the "person" identity arise and you get attached to it and all that it comes with it, that's when it becomes more of a difficult journey.
Searching for your purpose from the perspective of a developed and diluted identity (mind), it is what I call "the lost". Some might understand what is meant when speaking about a purpose but if they had to define it in a sentence, it will probably become more of a difficult task. When I ask a person what they think their purpose is in life, most people would give an answer like doctor, athlete, teacher, writer or even priest. This is not to say you are wrong when you say or think like that but you're simply looking at it from a very small and narrow perspective which will cause you to misunderstand or just misinterpreted a lot about your purpose.
A person's purpose in life is not simply just one kind of occupation or hobby, like you were meant to work at a bank, for example, for the rest of your life or be gymnast and that be your "purpose". No, I don't believe anyone is meant to work in one place or be occupied in one space. Yes, a purpose might be one but it manifests itself in a lot of ways. Take this for an example, what comes from nature or naturally never has one purpose. Look at the natural herbs, for instance, what they bring into one's health. One herb is never a cure or beneficial to one cause inside a person's body. A herb can heal more then one illness or sickness at a time. This also includes natural foods, vegetables, nuts, fruits and water, have many different benefits for the human body in a single form. So the same with us human beings, we do not just simply possess one single occupation or passion in life as our only purpose, like becoming a teacher or policemen but you have many. To a point that being a teacher and policemen might both be tied to being all your purpose or how your purpose manifest itself through different forms.
But before I go deeper with what I mean by what I just said above, let me first introduce myself and welcome you to the blog-about-purpose. I trust that whoever got to be with me on this journey will find this blog to be helpful in guiding you to discovering your purpose. I am a 27 years old African locd male from a small township (neighborhood) in KZN, South Africa. That's all about me (the person) for now.
With this blog, I intend to give you a bit of my perspective of what I know, believe and think a purpose is and what is meant by discovering it.

Now who said locs can’t be sophisticated? We asked Eric Cendeno about what his locs meant to him and this is what he told us:
“ I have been locd for 9 years. One thing that I love about my hair is how it connects me deep to my roots, spirituality and ancestors. “

What inspired you to Loc your hair?
When I was a kid, i grew up watching this cartoon called static shock, who was a super hero with locs. So essentially I thought locs gave people super powers & I wanted super powers, straight up.  Also, I wanted my hair to be long enough so it could move when I did sports that way I could look faster than what I really was.
How long have you been locd?
I’ve been locd for 10 1/2 years now.
Where do you go for loc maintenance?
I go to my dresser Alecia at her shop in Marietta Ga. She’s the best, hands down @leeci_lays_hair
What’s your favorite product?
I don’t necessarily have a favorite product. I do use a lot of Jamaican products though and anything with castor oil in it.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to loc their hair?
I would tell them to make sure they’re in it for the long run. It’s a process that takes a lot of patience. But just like the best of relationships, you’ve got to be committed to your locs, for better or for worst, in sickness and in health. Your locs will always be a representation of you, so it’s up to you to decide how you want to present yourself.
Random Question: What song do you most associate with your childhood?
There’s a lot to choose from. One that comes to mind would be Lose yourself by Eminem

Dread (v.) – to anticipate with great fear or apprehension. Yesterday, June 27, 2017, I finally did something I’ve been saying I would do for about 3 years now. I started my loc journey excited and optimistic, but also impatient and nervous. Impatient, simply because that’s one of my natural flaws. Nervous, not because of the “ugly phase.” But nervous because I know that this is going to be a very emotional and spiritual journey that will bring me into myself. I am going to learn a different kind of confidence and security in my own skin. I am going to finally learn what it means to embrace being BLACK and how to wear my crown proudly. The name “dreadlocks” came from early Europeans’ opinions and standards of beauty. When they saw us for the first time, their hair styles and appearance were “dreadful” and caused them to force conformity and “civilization” of our culture and beliefs, not realizing that our hair is our crown. Our hair is our God-given power. I want to be dreaded. The most feared human in creation is the black woman. I want people to dread my strength. My resilience. My power. My intelligence. My confidence. My love. My sorrow. My anger. My soul. I want you to see my crown, then my face, and I want you to see the pain of my brothers and sisters of the past, present, and future, and I want you to understand why I have decided to embark on this journey. I am #locd to express the love I have for myself, my family, and my people. I am #locd because this is how The Creator intended me to be. I am #locd for peace and prosperity. I am #locd for life. ✊🏽👑🦁 #babylocs #twostrandtwists #starterlocs @loclivin @starterlocheadz

Loc'd Talk w/Giovanni

What made you decide to loc your hair?
I must say that it was something that came on my mind one day, just like a pop-up. It was like waking up and a voice in your mind is screaming; “ this is what you are going to do”. At that time there was nobody in my circle that had locs, so nobody really inspired me. Just like I said… it was something from within. Afther a few yours I can say that it was something spiritual. It was a message from my spiritual guiders. They know it was something that would make me more whole as a person, more connected when walking through my spiritual lifepath and keep me more grounded.
How long have you been locd?
As far as I can remember… I’ve been locd for like 20 years. I must say that I cut them shorter so now and then. Just because I don’t like it when locs are too long.
Where do you go for loc maintenance?
Lollll….. this question makes me laugh. A lot of people ask me this question and get flabbergasted when I tell them that I maintain and retwist my own hair. Going to someone to maintain my locs is a real issue for me. Sometimes I would like to have somebody to do my hair, but I don’t like people going through my hair and touching my head. It feels like my whole soul is blocking it and don’t agree with somebody doing it. It’s that energy exchange kind of thing. So when I do let somebody do something with my hear, I feel their energy first.
What’s your favorite product?
I don’t have a favorite product. In the past I actually used everything that was on hand for my hair. I now try to choose my products my consciously. For retwist I use ‘Sofn'Free Stylin Dredz Mouldin Gel Wax’. I also make my own hairspray with different oils like; argan, olive, tea tree, castor, almond. That I use daily.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to loc their hair?
Don’t care what people think or feel about locs. Just do you! Keep in mind that have your locs the way you want them to be is not an overnight achievement. You need patience and consistency. Give it love and care if you want that healthy loc.
Random Question: What is something you learned in the last week?
It’s not really something new. But definitely something I just had to get my mind back to it. To keep elevating in life it’s important to stay spiritual connected. That will help you to keep your peace and stay grounded. It’s you that have to work on you, nobody will and can do it for you. Don’t feel guilty when you refuse to surround yourself with negative thinking people and put yourself into negative environments. Life is about you first and everything else comes second!

Loc Talk w/ Brian
Tumblr media
Brian/Sham G.
Bay Area and The Silicon Valley, California
What made you decide to loc your hair?
I’ve always wanted thick locs that would require little to no maintenance. I’m also at a stage in my life where I’m fully embracing who “I” am so a natural unique approach is something that I felt was best to reflect my mental state of mind and my current vibrations.
How long have you been locd?
I’ve been freeforming for one year now, although I had twisted locs for a few years before cutting them off and pursuing freeform journey.
Where do you go for loc maintenance?
Since I’m freeforming, the only place I go for maintenance is my kitchen. - Eat healthy food, wash my freeforms and just go!
What’s your favorite product?
Aloe Vera Leaves
What advice would you give to someone who wants to loc their hair?
Regardless of the direction you want to go, whether it be twisted locs or freeforms, you have to start inside first.
Learn to just be happy and appreciative within because it’s more than just a hairstyle, it’s a lifestyle.
Embrace all of the different stages, trust the process, be ok with people not understanding your journey, and remember health is wealth and commitment is key.
Random Question: What are some of your longtime goals?
Continue to educate myself and scale my knowledge and my businesses.
Establish and secure a system of long term generational wealth. - Secure the bag! :)
