The last bit was directed at Kagome, white eyes sans slitted pupils zeroing in on her and the amount of hatred in those eyes, the absolute animosity and disgust he glared at her with had her chest tightening and a shiver of trepidation to crawl along the length of her spine. Unable to hold that contemptuous stare any longer, Kagome closed her eyes and tucked her face into Inuyasha’s chest, the exhaustion suddenly overtaking her with a power she couldn’t hope to fight.

The snarl that erupted from Inuyasha’s throat was low, deep, and positively deadly as the steady growl that had been reverberating in his chest leaked past bared fangs in loud, dangerous warning. Golden eyes became twin pools of furious fire that flickered crimson, ears flattening into silver hair, and had Kagome been conscious, she would surely had protested the near crushing grip he’d reflexively taken on her.

“Mark my words, you lowly sack of shit,” Inuyasha growled, his fury palpable in the way twin streaks of violet faded in and out on his cheeks as he glared the fucker down. “If you ever put another hand on Kagome again, I. Will. End. You.”
