Oiba is the other half of the 5C birthdays today. Which...is actually kind of funny considering they're partners in the Priory. Anyway. Druid eventually for her, but 8 hours and 59 minutes for her birthday this year!

These are all the new faces that were made during 2023 and have made it to the end of the year! I've put their names, race, and profession in the description box but I'll also attach it below with a bit about them!
Row 1 (left to right)—Shiori Konu is a Human Necromancer who is the youngest of the Konu siblings, and the one that's going to inherit their family's noble title once she's proven herself. Yunru (eldest) is a member of the Shining Blade and Ryon (middle) is the Commander, he was also formerly a Necromancer before he died and became a Revenant. Both of them are keeping the fact that Ryon died a secret from Shiori but neither of them realize that she...already knows. Since she's a Necromancer as well. Shiori also has a secret she's keeping from them—she contracted Scarlet's Rattle during the battle for Lion's Arch and is using her abilities to keep her lungs functioning while investigating a cure.
Nilo Liberti is a Human Mesmer who I'm planing on making a Mirage, and he's part of a twin-set with Nicoletta Liberti. They're both part of the Five Commander Guild, making up the Human portion of it. He's the elder of the two and the more reckless one of them. He lost his hand rather stupidly during a battle—which one I haven't decided yet—and thus he's been tempered a little in holding back from throwing himself into the wind.
Row 2 (left to right)—Tarsicia Ghostpyre is a Charr Guardian who's destined for Willbender eventually. She ends up being the Mom Friend of the Five Commanders when it's all said and done, but the road to get there is hella bumpy. Right now she's in her grump stage, still attempting to mend herself after Claw Island and ready herself for all that comes now that Zhaitan is gone.
Emrys the Sly is our Sylvari Thief who's already been dumped into Deadeye. He's the charmer of the Five Commanders, he knows he's handsome and a smooth talker to boot so he uses it to his advantage more than oft. He's formerly Nilo's lover without the romantic entanglement of it all, mostly because he and Nicoletta are plotting to get Nilo and Izar together somehow.
Oiba Pathfinder was the last of the Five Commanders to be made, she's our Asuran Ranger who will eventually find her way into Soulbeast. An unwanted secondary child, Oiba's made her own way in the world and found a new family with her guildmates. She's eventually going to be able to merge with her pets in their form via Soulbeast (as well as vice versa) but enlarged by like...3-4 times the pet's normal size. She's going to become an absolute terror on the battlefield.
Row 3 (left to right)—Elara the Seeker is a Sylvari Elementalist whom found her way to Elona right after it opened up to northern Tyria again. She had a pull there and while outwardly prickly herself, she's more than kind to her apprentice whom she's teaching/has taught to be a Weaver, aka Zivis.
I Want Uppies is a meme of an Asuran Thief, she runs about permanently miniature'd so she's no more larger than the Progeny that've been sized down in that one Metrica event. You'll become a climbing post for her to scout from if you stand still long enough. And she gets away with it too, because she's just so darn cute!!
Fiszél is another Sylvari Elementalist, this one styled after the Koi weaponset that we got this year. I haven't done much with him yet story wise, so for now he's just a pretty plant to look at.
Row 4 (left to right)—The Ever Given is another meme character, a Norn Warrior of the largest model we can do. And embiggened permanently much like Uppies' opposite. Again, not much of a story for him just yet other than he likes to lay across the track in the races just before the finish line.
Ethrreana is a Sylvari Ranger who's story is not what you expect. Move those letters of their name around and you get...Trahearne???? Yep, that very same Pact Marshal is locked inside a body that is not his own and now has to wander about the world learning a new set of skills and doing all the Commander things. Oh boy...
The Strange Voice is a Kryptis Sylvari Mesmer who has Mirage as her Elite. She's a cosplay of Peitha and thus, the character ought to be well enough known. This is what I interpret her to look like if she was trying to disguise herself as a Sylvari to wander about Tyria without attracting too many looks. But she's also permanently embiggened so...
Row 5 (left to right)—Comndarem is in a situation similar to Ethrreana, however this Sylvari Necromancer is the (once again, unscrambled:) Commander! The opposite of what happened to Ethrreana happened to Comndarem in their universe and so the former Commander has to try and become the Pact Marshal and lead the new Commander around.
Edgelady Vineflower was supposed to be Vineblossom but guess what was one character too many. Still, this Sylvari Revenant is another weaponset inspired take! So we don't have much story for her yet.
Oighrig thë Atlas is a Sylvari Necromancer who is a clone of a Sylvari of the same name/profession. Mostly because I missed the initial coloration that he had. I want to say this set of tones is pre-death for him, so pre-Zhaitan. The richer yellows/greens coming after his resurrection by Trahearne not willing to let go of him so soon.
Row 6 (left to right)—Spirït Halloween is yet another meme character, this time the Asuran Revenant-Herald was inspired by the Halloween pop-up shop that takes over the corpses of dead department stores every October. He's just...borrowing this body for the time being. No one was home anymore so it's more than fine. Right?
Nichneven of Lilac is our last one, a Sylvari Ranger who is the new Commander for Comndarem! She's the one who's taken over their previous spot, all of this information is in the post from yesterday about her for Dreamcember.

Time to talk about the lady who gave me so much name trouble!!!
Originally born as Orabella, Oiba was the second born child of her parents and very much unwanted—she was a secret even from her mother until labor. Her parents…attempted at first to show interest in her, at least until she could care for herself, then all pretense was gone. Her older brother, Mottut, was often held over her head and her own pushed down; thus she found comfort in a jungle stalker cub she kept secret. Korvin was her constant companion, even after he grew too big to hide. She didn't hold much anger towards Mottut, that was reserved for their parents, likewise he didn't pay her much mind.
Mottut was a pretty good genius, but it was Oiba who gained Zojja's attention with her Snaff entry. A golem that automated first-aid out in the field—a walking hospital, if you will. Automated Internal Diagnosis, or AID-1. Though she often joked to Kovin it should be 1-AID. (Get it? First-aid!) Sure, it wasn't mind-blowing, but it kept medics from getting hurt in the field potentially.
Still, Zojja's attention and the public's attention that soon followed was definitely not wanted. She kept pushing and pushing for the Elementalist to bugger off and leave her alone. Finally, they made a compromise—they'd have a brainstorming afternoon once a week and be no contact for the rest of it. For a recluse like Oiba, it was the best she'd get against stubborn Zojja. And after a while, she grew to like and look forward to these talks—Zojja also turned them into small pet-seeking adventures.
Eventually, Zojja's assertiveness gave Oiba (still known as Orabella) the confidence to publically leave her family and cast away the name they gave her. Since she wasn't planned for, her name was an aunt who wasn't very well liked by her parents—and already dead so no possible support there. Once she left them, Zojja took Oiba—and her now many pets—into her own house. Now newly named Oiba Pathfinder began following and helping Zojja with various projects. Thus leading them to the fateful meeting in Lion's Arch.
Fingers buried in Kovin's fur, Oiba stood apart as she watched the others converse. Tarsicia looked very much how Oiba felt, so did Izar in a way—anywhere but here, please. Nilo and Emrys were almost too loud for her sensitive ears, Nicoletta was…just right to coin a phrase. And as much as she knew Zojja didn't (on the surface) want a resolution with her guildmates, Oiba did kind of want it for her. Someone ought to have their family back, even a found family.
Her partner-in-crime ended up being Nilo, they bonded over the fact that Sieran was slightly exasperating. She also echoed Gixx's sentiments of Sieran being very Asuran-like but lacked precautions. Nicoletta was, indeed, just right for Oiba's sensibilities. She had many a happy afternoon socializing with the twins. Her pets became very attached and protective over them as well—perhaps even more so after their jaunt through the Manor.
Emrys was still pretty loud and just a little mistrustful of her race, with good reason. But she did win him over with her pets and AID-1, who still toddled around after her. And she picked up a few bow skills from him along the way. Izar gave her very much big brother vibes, though she also found him to be an avid listener and good caretaker of her birds of prey. Tarisica's Guardian abilities were the icebreaker there, once they fought together and she saw the Charr use her flames… Question city. Tarsicia chuffed at her but answered what she could with an amused tone. And got a free brushing out of it!
As much as she ragged on Sieran, it had turned very affectionate based, even a small crush on Oiba's end. Probably for the better that Oiba got caught in the same spray that hit Mira; one of the twins—she never found out which—carried her out. She was near inconsolable after the battle, her pets curled tight around her and Nilo constantly checked on her, made sure she was taken care of. It took her nearly two months to get anywhere close to her normal self again. The twins were always there to slip her something sweet, be it food or a little saying.
So Trahearne was a bit of a sore spot for her, but she trusted him. After all, he was someone Sieran looked up to, not to mention his Orrian knowledge went deep, she could learn so much from him. Still, for a while it hurt to be around him for long—he and Sieran weren't very similar in looks or personality. There was just something about him that reminded her of Sieran… She held him at arm's length.
Watching Zhaitan fall was such an overwhelming feeling, the kind of knees hitting the floor sort. Like Izar, Oiba held no belief that it was over, they had just started this journey. And at what cost? Oiba's magic sickness didn't hold her down as long as it did the others—Emrys aside for yet unknown reasons. Maybe it was her kneeling that saved her. Maybe it was the already intense bond she had with her pets. She found herself seeing through their eyes, a gift that eventually morphs its way into a reverse-Soulbeast?

Putting a note here: not to scale. Tarsicia is shorter than Izar by a good two feet. But hey! We got the whole guild in one shot! Ignore the wiggly stuff at the bottom. That's my poor attempt at hiding their cut-out feet. And who knew! The screengrab of the select screen that I got came in handy!
I'll be having some time off in the next week so I'll be working on trying to finish Nilo's facts and then work on Nicoletta's. They'll probably be posted separately? Just so there's a post dedicated to each twin. And then Emrys will follow it up!

Also I've figured out the kids' ages through all this.
The oldest is Tarsicia, having been born in 1306. So she's 19 at the start of it all and is currently 30 years old.
Next in line is Izar, born a year later than her so 18 and now 29. His sister Inkeri is technically younger than everyone else aside from Emrys, she was born in 1313 so when Izar went off to do all this she was only 12 and is now 23.
Twins Nilo and Nicoletta came about in 1309, so they're 16 going on 27.
Then there's Oiba at 1310 with her story starting at age 15 and she's now 26.
Emrys is the "baby," of course, being born in 1325 with the start of everything, so as of 1336 (the current year) he is 11 years old.
