A thousand spider bites. It was a punishment from Lolth. Not only the sting of the bites and the pain of the venom but the psychological terror of feeling the wrath of a goddess.
betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?

Drow society actively encourages betrayal in the pursuit of power or influence. She has been betrayed by many "friends" and "allies". Questionable if she ever truly trusted them since true trust is not a concept in Lolthite drow society. As such, she has betrayed many in the grab for power and for the favor of Lolth.
skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?
It's complicated.
Tav'Lyn is now an outsider. She may have turned away from Lolth and the society of Menzoberranzan but she still has pride in being a drow.
But, she does struggle with what she has done in the past. She came from an evil society and committed acts of evil herself. Yes, she was molded and twisted into those acts but she still made the decision to do them! She isn't one for self-pity but she does grapple with the guilt of her past.
One of my favorite moments in the game is the grove battle (alas you cannot recruit Minthara this way so I probably will not take this route in-game ever again).
To save the grove is an act against her old self and habits.
It could have been her instead of Minthara leading those goblins. It has been her in the past. She acknowledges it and moves forward towards a better future each day.

I publish my first drafts… with spellcheck and minor syntax changes. Really I just reread it and change a couple things. Part of it I think is that I say what I’m writing out loud which definition helps with the structure.
I’m sorry I’m making my own first contact AU brainrot worse but like? Humans would literally be friends with everyone. Eventually. Not the Romulans but the Klingons would probably be our frenimies. Hi I want Mr. Stuck in the Mines lawyer to be Mr. Poppins (oh yes, I’m making that joke/reference). Soval being Earth’s first Vulcan diplomat is just over here in his birthday suit with that green shirt on the floor getting positively destroyed by Claudine (Rue Maclanahan (spelling?)). Uncle grabbing his niece (my poor OC) when he’s half way through med school like: apparently I’m the ambassador now??? I need a full staff. Give me a list of the best graduates from Hereford Medical STAT. You can come work for me after you graduate.
There’s still that whole prison camp issue but I’m blaming the Romulans for running it (but also it’s completely staffed by Vulcans because I say so). So many hot Andorians drooling over the now completely new staff at the embassy and none of them are human but they’re DTF and so are the Andorians. Whole ass courtship stuff here. It’s been like 90 years and they still haven’t figured out how to ask someone on a date. ‘Look I don’t want to punch you because that’s just really uncomfortable for both of us so I’m just going to punch your mouth with my mouth if you’re okay with that’ kind of HI I AM ATTEMPTING TO FLIRT WITH YOU PLEASE BEND ME OVER RIGHT NOW. Also a lot of competence porn on both sides.
Andorians: Okay the space puppies are weird but they solved half of our problems without trying.
Not-Humans: Oooooh if you only knew how adorably dumb you were. I mean you can’t even sense on the metaphysical level. Why do you think WE INVENTED transporters?
Humans: Look I did math and I think I can make the engines better. I just have to crawl up there and get dirty.
Vulcans: *facepalm* We need to attach ourselves to the humans for logical reasons *squints in technology*
Tellarites: Clearly these maggots are capable of a decent job. What job that is we have no idea but they did tame two whole species and the Klingons… are friendly? No that can’t be right. *Checks notes* It IS?!?!?!?!?!?!!???!!?!?!
Klingons: That woman pulled a floor lamp out of a bag and absolutely destroyed my enemies in court. I think she’s my wife now? Clearly I have been blessed by Khaless. Also her son-in-law’s brother has a beard that made the high council tremble. MORE BLOODWINE!
