#eden draws#oc orson#oc adelaide#short hair adelaide jump scare#to cope with work i have been laser focused on an au and things go very differently for these two#they get to be a lot happier#also adelaide gets called jam in this which i find funny and cute#saw that post in which someones friend couldnt remember the name adelaide and could only think of marmalade and then wanted to try convince#their friend to name themselves marmalade instead of adelaide and i thought that was very cute#and in this au adelaide is a baby when the thing that changes the events happens#so very young orson accidentally calls baby ade marmalade in front of his dad who then jokingly calls her a jam jar and it sticks#then gets shortened from jam jar to just jam it also works out cause they needed to give her a new name#none of this is relevant to the actual story. not even that relevant for the au i just kept thinking about it

Adelaide’s Bio
Name: Adelaide Thompson
Hero Name: Hesperia
Hair: natural black but she dies it different colors, it goes a bit passed her chin and she tries out different styles. Currently orange.
Eyes: Pale Blue; sensitive to light
Height: 5′3″
Build: a lean build with nice hips and tone thanks to working out. She is mulatto; her mother being black and her father white. Her skin tone is dark brown.
Date of Birth: March 10
Quirk: Darkness- Adelaide can control shadows wherever they may be. The darker her surroundings, the better. She can shape the shadows to use for attack and defense. If it’s too bright out, she expends a lot of energy to use her power and keeps snacks on her. The downside to her Quirk is terrible light sensitivity. She wears tinted sunglasses everywhere she goes.
Her costume is a two toned bodysuit made of a shimmery material that has black and hot pink as its colors. She wears a mask as well that almost covers her whole face except her mouth, nose and hair, the mask also has built in tinted shades. Later on she asks the Support crew for a sort of EMP device to take out lights should the need arise.
Adelaide’s personality is bubbly and sweet. She’s courageous, dedicated and studious. Her entire aesthetic is essentially pastel goth; she loves creepy and macabre things but adores pastel colors. With her love of the paranormal and science fiction, she easily befriends Tokoyami. She also collects stuffed animals. As she is a transfer student, far away from her home in the States, she has bouts of loneliness.

Ok bestie this is your sign to expound gratuitously about Adelaide
Oh hell yeah time to dish out some prime Adelaide lore ✨
- Adelaide and Ambrose grew up in Vacuo with their biological mother; sharing a home with her longtime friend, her husband and their son. Their mother died in a brutal attack on the home when Adelaide was eight years old and from that point her mother’s friends became their adoptive parents.
- Adelaide left home when she was twenty-one despite the wishes of her over protective adoptive father, also leaving behind her two younger brothers. She didn’t tell anyone ahead of time and had no real plan or destination; only wanting to prove that she could handle herself and make her own way in the world.
- She arrived in Atlas after about a year of traveling through Remnant and signed up with the Atlesian Military only a month later- believing through experience that the towns and cities with more organized military defense, rather than unregulated huntsman, stood a greater chance of fending off the creatures of grimm and keeping people safe.
(All of these events taking place years before season one of the show)
- She loves seafood, sleeps like the dead, and gets nervous easily around new people; often twisting her fingers in her hair out of habit and tends to start rambling if she can’t think of exactly the right thing to say.
- She accidentally gave her siblings food poisoning when they were younger from an undercooked chicken and Ambrose never let her cook again; and when their father sent him to track her down, he was genuinely more concerned that she would be dead somewhere in the wilderness from a similar mishap, rather than being killed by any grimm or bandit.
