Here’s what they should do: next splatfest, Frye and Big Man should team up and have the same splatfest option. It can be like a special event or maybe it happens after one of the idols starts getting a win streak (like maybe three in a row triggers it?). That way we get back to a two-option splatfest to even out the odds and give ppl a break from the three-option popularity imbalances. Tricolor will have attacking and defending like normal but both attacking teams will match and be unable to splat each other.
If the idol with the streak wins again then the two-option splatfests continue until they lose (the other two idols joking about making sure their third member doesn’t get a big head). And most importantly this is ENTIRELY IN GOOD FUN. They’re razzing each other, not fighting, like the usual splatfest “rivalry”

Based off of this post
1. Tell us about your current project(s) what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
I have three stories that I’m sort of kicking around at the moment (not including the one-shots planned for the Silk & Lace AU)!
A) Royal Engagement AU (reluctant friends to lovers)
Taako’s been courted by more men than he can count and his aunt is getting discouraged (she really thought Brian was going to be the one). And she starts setting him to court just like... anybody, whether or not she thinks they’ll be a good match, and enter Kravitz- he’s stiff, a stickler for the rules, overly formal, and just... boring. Kravitz thinks Taako is reckless, irresponsible, and selfish, but they end up seeing the good in each other over time. I wrote 12k of this AU, right when I decided when I wanted to write for TAZ, so the characterizations are pretty off. I do think I want to return to this story, because (as anyone who knows my ao3 knows) I’m a sucker for wedding AUs and I also love royal AUs too.
B) Seven birds D.I.D. AU
This is something I started writing in another fandom, but I feel like I want to make it work for TAZ instead! Kravitz keeps running into Taako, and he notices that the man is different every time- they meet over time, Taako reveals that he has D.I.D. and that each of his alters is a different bird. I’d have to scrap all the prep work I’ve already done, so there’s not much else here- I just think that it would be cool! And I’ve done lots of research!
C) Camp Counselor AU
I think this one probably speaks for itself, but as a former counselor, I can confirm- your counselors were absolutely hooking up. And everyone knew about it. So, basically, Taako and Lup are sailing masters and life guards, Lucretia is the director of the camp (obvi), Davenport runs space based curriculum (did I mention this is a space camp??), Merle does art and nightwalks, Magnus is on maitenence, and Barry runs lab- just basic experiments with the kids. Kravitz is the newest counselor, and yes, before you ask, they’ve ALL got ridiculous camp names.
This is probably the next AU I start to work on! I’m pretty pumped for this one- idk if I’m just missing how it felt to be a counselor and the parties and all that but it was actually so fun, and I think it’d be cool to explore the space!
6. What character do you have the most fun writing?
I LOVE writing Taako- specifically, I love to write the way he interacts with people around him? Taako is so fun for me, because I can be goofy or I can be serious, but I can still say fuck like eight times. My favourite people to write Taako with is Queen Lup and Kravitz, because I think those two characters are the easiest to play off of. :)
15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?
I usually am pretty okay with all three, because I’ve usually got the story kicking around for months before it makes it to ao3, but probably summaries!! Specifically for Silk & Lace, I was like... uh, how do I condense this into a sentence? Into two? Usually it’s not bad, and when I do a one-shot, I tend to just snatch a couple lines from the fic itself.
18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterizations?) Tell us about them.
Part of the Silk & Lace AU is the fic Magnolia, and I just... like, I think it came out great, and I like it a lot, and it needed to happen for a multitude of reasons, but I wish I hadn’t had to kill Julia off. I think that, if she had lived, she probably would have a) loved Angus, b) would have told Taako and Kravitz to get their shit together like WAY before Lup & Barry’s wedding, and probably would have sussed out the Grimm situation after the first night at the bar.
The only plot-line I’ve ever abandoned halfway through was in Symptoms, where I was originally intending to have part of Magnus’ recovery to fall in love again (with his therapist), but I’m REALLY GLAD I didn’t. I think the fact that he was able to acknowledge ‘this is not healthy for me, and I do not feel comfortable doing this after losing Julia’ is arguably more growth than ANYTHING I could have done with Irene.
22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?
Yes and no! I’ve reread Silk & Lace and it’s parts a couple of times, just to refresh myself on what I’ve set in place when I return to write again. In the grand scheme of things, though, I haven’t been writing in the TAZ fandom that long (six months?) and I don’t reread anything from my old fandoms that I’ve written. For several reasons, (as I will get into in the last question) I try to avoid my really old stuff, but I’m pretty comfy with most of the stuff on my ao3!
24. Would you say that your writing has changed over time?
Yes, yes, yes, YES! I started writing fanfic when I was TWELVE, and I’m TWENTY. Some of it is little changes- I have a larger vocabulary, I’m better at catching spelling errors, I know that a good story should have subplots that add to the overall universe the story takes place, etc. Whereas a lot of my old stuff, when I would write things that were plot based, I wouldn’t research the topics (I’ve mentioned it before, but I spent 20 hours just researching the lawsuit in Silk & Lace), and the effort was really the bare minimum. I put way more effort in now, and I’m definitely a lot happier with where my writing is at. I’m still guilty of info dumps, and I’m still trying to figure out how to make my descriptions feel natural, but it’s way better than where I started.
Sorry about the long post, thanks for reading! Stay happy, and stay safe! <3
