Okay, vivisection au. A classic.

So, when people do autopsies, often they don't put the organs back the same way they came after the internal examination. The persons dead, they're not gonna be using them anymore. They kinda just stuff them back in and sew up the incision. But, vivisection. Would whoever is performing the vivisection, the GIW, or the Fentons, or whoever, care about continued function of the organs, like for future study, or no? In the aftermath, would the organs be in the right place and working correctly? I think this would be an interesting premise to explore. Would Danny need a surgery to fix all the issues, or could he rely on his ghost half to play catch up? If you're thinking DP x DC, maybe Batfam, how would they react? How would Danny react to other people knowing? (I love when fics acknowledge that Jason also has a Y-incision scar and play with that.)

Also! Autopsies include cranial examinations! Would they attempt that? How would that affect Danny and maybe even his personality? Brain injuries can do crazy things to people.

Additionally! I just want to say that when autopsies are performed, it's not as simple as making the Y cut and then having access to all the organs. You have to actually cut the skin away from the muscles attaching it to the rib cage. Also, the cut goes all the way down to the pubic bone and AROUND the belly button, not through it or stopping there. Lmao I'm just kinda a nerd and these are some common inaccuracies I see in fics <3
