Homemade Tomato Powder I've been hearing about this stuff for years so I finally made some. I simply dehydrated the tomato skins leftover from processing stewed tomatoes and salsa, ground them up and sieved them and viola! This powder is supposed to be fabulous in soups and stews and it's shelf stable. As often as we lose power around here that is a serious consideration. I have some celery languishing in the crisper, that might be next. Of course it's nearly time to harvest herbs as well. I've got a ridiculous amount of garlic chives that I have to preserve somehow and the holy basil is just out of control and trying to escape. I know that sounds like a lot of work but it's not really work if you're enjoying it. I love doing this kind of thing and I feel like I'm exactly where I'm meant to be doing exactly what I'm meant to be doing. That is priceless.
