I love thinking about how all the big bads of AA were defeated. Manfred von Karma’s pettiness and arrogance blinded him to the fact that he created the very thing that would destroy him. Matt Engarde’s constant selfishness and betrayals left him with nothing but enemies at the end. Godot’s undoing was the past he tried so desperately to escape. Dahlia just kinda sucked at murder. The Phantom severely underestimated the love between a lawyer and his weird little girl. Garan forgot that the bonds between people, related or otherwise, are a force more powerful than fear. Kristoph just could not shut the fuck up.

@catilinas about your tags: the parallel between sacrificing M. Gratidianus on the tomb of Q. Catulus and sacrificing Q. Hortensius on the tomb of C. Antonius is even better if we remember that Q. Hortensius (son of Lutatia) is the grandson of Q. Catulus. And that Brutus and Hortensius were avenging Cicero on Antony's brother.

So the general consensus in the fandom seems to be that pawns have blunt teeth, high-ranking carapacians have sharp teeth, and all carapacians have sharp claws/fingertips.

But I once happened to pay attention to who has what. And I just remembered it and am making a post now.

The Queens: sharp teeth, five sharp fingers [on each hand]

The Kings: ? teeth (we never see their mouths iirc, definitely haven’t seen their teeth), four blunt fingers

SS: sharp teeth, five *blunt* fingers

DD: ? teeth (we haven’t got to see them), five blunt fingers

HB: sharp teeth, four blunt fingers

CD: ? teeth (we never see his mouth), three blunt fingers

ARs: sharp teeth, four sharp fingers

Standard male pawns (e.g. WV): blunt teeth, four sharp fingers

Standard female pawns (e.g. Ms. Paint): ? teeth (presumably blunt), four sharp fingers

PM: ? teeth, four sharp fingers (I’ve seen it mentioned that Hussie has called her a pawn, perhaps she’s a variation/mutation, so I’d assume she has blunt teeth)

These are all consistent in sprite mode, hero mode(s) and all animations; with one small, clearly erroneous exception: there are moments in one part of Cascade where WQ and Jack have their fingertips the other way around. But even there it cuts to a part by a different artist and Jack has blunt fingertips again.

The hands of the ARs and all the pawns are drawn the same way to each other.

The fact that all the top-rank agents actually have *blunt* fingers is really interesting to me. And I always see them described with claws in fics. And the Kings also have blunt fingers! Even though they are literally on the battlefield!
