checking out the usual poem submit sites and the backlog of emails from the ones im signed up to have sent to me bc why not rn so im Doing Something at least and

i want to give the orgs money. i know they need it to protect art in general and make available poetry to the public and keep things accessible. i will forever be grateful for what they do and want to support it whenever i can financially

that said

having a disclaimer abt how yes the prize money amount is going way down but now there's also a submission fee AND a donation needed to submit while also acknowledging the ongoing everywhere cost of living crisis and that writers in general are underpaid is a Choice

at the very least, until i have funds, i simply can't submit to that one anymore for now ☹️
