Our House
We have one week left before we leave and move from our home of 43 years. It wasn’t the most careful and thought out purchase at that time. We had gone to see a friend’s dental practice in the shopping center across the street from our tract. That same day we ended up buying one of the model homes.
After so many decades in this home, I know every inch of it intimately. We have remodeled, painted, decorated, and upgraded much. As outdated wallpaper and such would come down, so went precious memories of times spent in that room. However, new paints and colors, and sometimes furniture brought new memories and traditions from life moments in the new rooms. Despite all of this, there were signs of the house aging. Age brings attrition in everything, and everybody. This house has been very good to us. It has given us a home that was so close to our work. It is strategically  placed near all of our favorite restaurants, grocery stores, department stores, and even freeway entrances. It has been our haven and respite from the outside world. It has been a place where we can rest, refresh, and rejuvenate.
We have been blessed with the greatest neighbors on all sides of our house. Our kids have grown up with our neighbors’ kids, and are still the best of friends. Their children will now grow up and be friends. As neighbors, we have watched out for each other, and  our homes. We have helped each other with tools, lended a helping hand in DIYs, and sometimes even vacationed together. We have spent Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners together, birthday parties, anniversaries, and such. As neighbors, we have gone to our childrens’ weddings, and their childrens’ birthday parties. It has been the best of relationships for over 3-4 decades.
We have watched our neighborhood change in many ways, and yet much has stayed the same. The neighborhood kids have grown and moved away. The speeding cars passing in front of our house are now all gone. The teens have grown, moved away, and have their own families and homes elsewhere. No, now it is only the retired parents that remain in our neighborhood.
So why are we moving you may ask? The truck and car traffic has increased exponentially with the growth of businesses and distribution centers that did not exist in the 70’s. The evenings bring noises from youths with blaring music, screeching tires, and throaty and deep exhausts from their hopped up vehicles. It is nearly impossible to enjoy our backyard any more due to the noise. Our cascading water in our pond cannot negate the noise. In addition, we are close to a fire station near our local Junior College. The sirens seem to all go full blast as they travel east on Alondra Blvd. Last but not least are the holidays of New Years and the Fourth of July. The backyard fireworks of Norwalk, the community to our north are not the docile box of sparklers and curly cue snakes anymore. The residents have graduated to full on commercial rockets of the type seen at community fireworks shows. These rockets start days before, go long into the night, and last for days after the holidays. This is no exaggeration.
I wonder, if our house could speak, what would it be saying as we get ready to vacate our home of 4 decades. I think it would say something like the following; “Thanks for all you’ve done to me and for me over the years. I feel like I have grown up as a young house with your family. I have watched and sheltered your young children, and watched them grow into adults. I now even watch your grandchildren grow up. I am an older house now, much like you guys are older. You now are leaving me for a younger house. I do understand that, and do wish you well and God speed. I am a little nervous about the new owners. It is like a blind date, only this will last a lot longer. I hope they take as good care of me as you both have. I feel good in the condition that you leave me. I feel pretty and fit, but just older- like you! No matter what they do to me, or how they change me, I will not forget your family with all the gatherings, celebrations, and even the sleepless nights with infants, illnesses, and even the occasional arguments! Don’t worry about me, but do come back and see me occasionally!”
As we do our final preparations to leave, I say to our house; “Thank you for sheltering us from the elements. Thank you for keeping the world’s ills and dangers out! Thank you for remaining strong and fit through the many years. Thank you for allowing us to show our character and personality within your walls. No matter what we changed or hung on your walls, you never complained. Thank you for being the place where we could raise our two children, Chris and Allison safely. Thank you for being the house that allowed us to travel so quickly and easily to our workplace, and our childrens’ schools. Thank you for protecting our worldly possessions when we traveled for long periods of time. Thank you for appreciating in value! LOL! Remember, you are not the reason we are leaving. We hope the new owners will appreciate you the way we have appreciated you. We know you well, and know you will stay fit for many, many more years, and give faithful service to the new owners.  Farewell! We will see you soon.

3 Reasons To Use a Power Washer in Nassau, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness!" This is an oft-repeated age-old adage that needs to be followed avidly. Unfortunately, time is of the essence today, and residents hardly find adequate time to clean their homes properly. The adjoining structures, such as the driveway, garage, and garden furniture, are often extremely dirty. Turning the garden hose on them may provide perfunctory cleaning, but the outcome is unsatisfactory. The right solution that saves time and achieves results is to invest in one of the quality power washer in Nassau, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford. The term does sound professional, but the buyer must be careful enough to check the specifications and consider the features. It helps to know that cleaning areas within and outside the home do not necessitate spending a huge sum on the industrial strength washer. Instead, the simple yet low-intensity power washer will work admirably. It is also essential to know that a power washer works via electricity. The speed may be controlled with the aid of the settings. Moreover, the only difference between a power washer and a pressure washer is that the former can clean with hot water, whereas the latter uses standard-temperature water. Some of the benefits associated with the power washer that has succeeded in making the consumers happy include the following:- 1. Saves Time & Energy- There is no need to spend an entire day cleaning the home and immediate surroundings. On the contrary, one can simply direct the nozzles required and get rid of the accumulated dirt, dust, and stubborn stains without trying too hard. This not only has the task done within an hour, but one gets to save energy simultaneously too. 2. Safe Cleaning- Being perched on a ladder to clean the upper windows meticulously is risky indeed. The same is evident when one tries to scrub out the garage manually in an attempt to eliminate the grease from the surface. Using the power washer can ensure safety as a simple tweaking of the settings will increase the amount of water pressure that not only dislodges the debris but washes away the dirt without needing the user to climb up a ladder to get better access. The risks of slip and fall become almost nonexistent 3. Zero Damage- The accumulated dust and dirt that remain on the surface can cause significant damage to the underlying structure unless it is cleaned meticulously. Having the outbuilding structures and high-traffic areas within one's home power washed regularly can do wonders to enliven the building. The dirt, tiny materials, weed, moss, algae, mold, and spores may be lifted right off the surface by high-pressure water that is heated enough to kill the microbes. The potential damaging factors are reduced considerably, which increases the structure's life too. It also makes sense to add superior quality pressure washer soap in Nassau, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford. This can go a long way in reducing the grime and eliminating noxious odors when added to plain water sprouting from the power/pressure washer.

How To Choose The Right Size Dumpster For Your Project?
If you're doing a home renovation project, you might need to rent a dumpster. But how do you know which size to choose? This can be tricky, because the size of dumpster you need depends on the amount of waste you'll generate. Here's a guide from a reputable residential trash service in Norwalk, Connecticut to help you make the right decision.
Tumblr media
1. What factors should you consider when choosing a dumpster size for your project?
When you are planning a home renovation or other construction project, one of the first decisions you will need to make is what size dumpster to rent. The size of the dumpster will be determined by the amount of debris your project generates. However, there are other factors to consider as well. For example, if you have a narrow driveway, you will want to choose a smaller dumpster so that it can be easily maneuvered into place. Similarly, if you are working on a multi-story project, you will need a dumpster that can accommodate the weight of the debris. With so many factors to consider, it is important to consult with a professional before making your final decision. By taking the time to choose the right dumpster for your needs, you can help ensure that your project runs smoothly from start to finish.
Tumblr media
2. How much waste will be generated during the project and how long will it take to fill the dumpster up completely?
The amount of waste generated during a project can vary depending on the type of project and the materials being used. However, a typical dumpster can hold about 20 cubic yards of waste. The time it takes to fill a dumpster will also depend on the type of project and the materials being used. For example, a construction project using concrete and brick would generate a lot of heavy debris that would take longer to fill a dumpster than a renovation project using drywall and lumber. In general, it can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks to fill a dumpster with waste from a construction project depending on the speed and size of the project.
3. What type of debris will be thrown away - construction materials, household junk, etc.?
Construction materials, household junk, and other debris will be thrown away. Construction materials include lumber, drywall, bricks, and concrete. Household junk includes furniture and renovation debris. Other debris includes yard waste, such as leaves and branches. Construction materials and household junk will be taken to the dump. Yard waste will be composted. The type of debris thrown away will depend on the type of project being completed. If a major renovation is taking place, construction materials will be the primary type of debris. If a home is being decluttered, household junk will be the primary type of debris. And if a storm has caused tree damage, yard waste will be the primary type of debris. As suggested by the residential trash service in Riverside, Connecticut, it is important to have a plan for disposing of debris in an environmentally responsible way.
Tumblr media
4. Are there any special requirements or restrictions from your local government or waste management company that you need to be aware of before selecting a dumpster size?
Depending on your location, there may be special requirements or restrictions from your local government or waste management company that you need to be aware of before selecting a dumpster size. For example, some areas have weight limits for how much waste can be disposed of in a single container. Others may have restrictions on what types of materials can be placed in a dumpster. To avoid any problems, it is always best to check with your local government or waste management company before selecting a dumpster size. By doing so, you can be sure that you are following all of the necessary regulations and that your waste will be properly disposed of.
Tumblr media
5. How does the cost of different dumpster sizes compare, and what is the best option for your budget and needs?
The cost of a dumpster rental can vary depending on the size of the dumpster and the duration of the rental. However, in general, the cost of a small dumpster rental will be lower than the cost of a large dumpster rental. The best way to determine the right dumpster size for your needs is to consult with a professional. They will be able to help you choose a size that is appropriate for your budget and needs.

How Do You Choose The Best Roofing Contractors
It is very important that yo It is very important that you get the roof repaired without any kind of delay. When you opt for roofing solutions, you are looking for ways that will help to repair the leak and other damage so that your property does not get damaged. Ignoring the roof repair can prove to be an extremely costly affair for you in the long run. If the roof breaks down and falls inside it will destroy all the furniture and your floor will break too. In other you will have to repair the entire house.
Instead of waiting for such a thing to happen why don't you hire roofing contractors Perth? If you do a Google search, it will show you the leading service providers in your city. Collect the contact information from there. Contact the service provider located nearest to your house. Ask them to send over the roofing contractors Perth to your address.
When the contract visits your house ask him to carry out an initial inspection of the roof. This inspection will reveal the damage that is already done and the kind of repair work required. Find out how many days it will take for the roofing contractors Perth to repair the roof. Find out about the cost involved as well. The cost will vary depending on the extent of damage and the kind of repair required. We suggest that you should ask the roofing contractors Perth without further delay. It will be a bit difficult to stay in the house with the roofing work going on. So you need to shift to somewhere else for the time being.
If you have relatives in the city you can shift there or you have to move in to a hotel. No matter wherever you shift, make sure to visit your house daily in order to keep a tab on the extent of work done. Your frequent visits will put pressure on the roofing contractors Perth to finish the work on time. If you ignore visiting the house while the work is going on, the contractors will start to relax and will delay the entire process.Ideally you should opt for roofing services at least once a year.
The immediate problems can be tended to as and when they appear but otherwise annual cleaning and maintenance of your roof is a must. Don't forget that it is because of the roof that your house remains well insulated in the different seasons. In fact, it is the roof that protects your property and all its residents from excess heat, rain, snow and all other changes in the weather.
