It had to be Ohio! Of course, out of all of the states to be canon in EarthBound, it had to be Ohio. Here's the Crazed Sign's clay model, demonstrating once and for all that it is truly worthy of the most memetic "weird state". And yes, I am still confused on the America/Eagleland retcon.

The river: You'll see tons of water and grass types amid the lush tropical foliage of this beautiful wandering waterway.
The cave: A branch of the river empties into an underground cavern, and you'll have to adjust your eyes to the dim light if you hope to snap any of the cave-dwelling Pokemon.
The valley: When you emerge into sunlight you'll be pleased to find yourself on another river, but this one runs a lot faster than your earlier cruse and is packed with all sorts of pokemon.
Rainbow cloud: If you can impress the professor with your photography skills, you'll find the way to a magical cloud over the island where you'll go in search of a pokemon so rare that it's believed to be merely a legend.
Pokemon island field guide: For your viewing pleasure, we've included a field guide with everything you could want know about every pokemon in the game. Inside information on the creatures' habits, which items will make them react and the areas they're found in are all included, along with the index information to help you find exactly what page they're on. The field guide also doubles as a photo album where you can place stickers of your best shots of each character
something to shoot for.

I headcanon that despite being a shy person in general, and a little anxious when talking to people he doesn't know, Luigi loves oral storytelling.
At the end of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Luigi is shown talking on the plane ride home, eliciting laughter from everyone around him.
Tumblr media
In Super Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Luigi regales his brother with stories about his adventures whenever you talk to him at Rogueport. Even though Mario and his companion will fall asleep while the story is told, Luigi seems to pay no mind and continue unhindered, (and apparently it was interesting enough for a journalist to be drawn in and spin the story into a bestselling book, so there's that.)
Tumblr media
On a quiz on the official Play Nintendo Website, Luigi is listed as a good candidate to speak at a graduation because "he'd probably tell great ghost stories."
Tumblr media
And in Super Mario RPG, Luigi is the one who guides the player through the manual, and subsequently is the one who recounts the events of the first scene in story format.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think if he's comfortable enough around you to talk freely, he'll immediately shift into audiobook mode upon request.

Submas canon vs fanon
The entire time I have been in the Submas fandom I have seen a lot of confusion about what is canonical and what is a wide-spread fanon. Both in the sense of people thinking things were canon when they were not, and (more rarely) people thinking things were fanon when they were not. So I thought it might be useful to put together a little guide.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with using fanon. I use most of these headcannons in my own fics because I like them and canon is dumb anyway. (Note: pokemon is a huge sprawling mass and tends to contradict itself, and there have been changes across the various games/manga/anime)
All quotations are taken from bulbapidia.
Nimbasa Trio - FANON
Elesa has no connection to Ingo and Emmet besides living in the same place. There is one interaction between them in Pokemon Masters, and while they are on friendly terms they don't appear to be particularly close. Similarly, the idea that Ingo likes bad puns/Emmet does not stemmed from their fanon friendship with her.
Uncle Drayden - FANON
The only confirmed family Ingo and Emmet have are each other.
Cilan is a huge fan - CANON
Cilan is a fanboy of both of them in the anime.
Ingo is the older twin - CANON
In the original Japanese Emmet calls Ingo "nii-san" which means older brother.
"Do you have any siblings? I have an older brother, Ingo."
- Emmet, pokemon masters
Emmet's joltik hoard - FANON
Emmet's galvantula knows the move cross poison. This is an "egg move" which can only be learnt through pokemon breeding. Since it would take several tries to get this move it probably would have left Emmet with a lot of Joltik. In theory. We don't see Emmet with joltiks in canon.
Ingo's kitty smile - CANON
He smiles like that in the manga. (Admittedly, it's not as exaggerated as the full on :3 people sometimes draw him with.) He also briefly smiles in PLA, but less cat-like.
Ingo's perpetual frown is unintentional - CANON
"<player>! Someone just told me something that troubled me deeply! They said that compared to Emmet, I'm too stiff! But that's just a misunderstanding! I know I smile when I'm having fun! I'd even say that I'm quite proud of how expressive I am when I speak! What? You say you've never seen me smile? I-is that so..."
- Ingo, Pokemon Masters
They are both autistic - FANON
They are related to the twin heros - FANON
They share similar themes and motifs to the twin heros/Zekrom/Reshiram but that's it. They have no canon relationship.
Both of them are heavily coded as autistic. However, it's never been directly stated in the games that they are autistic and (to my knowledge) nobody at Game Freak/Nintendo has confirmed anything.
Ingo has a receding hairline - (debatably) CANON
He is drawn with one in the art book. Does the art book count as canon? Until something in the main games says otherwise, probably. (Though there is some argument to be had that it might be an unflattering haircut instead.)
Ingo arrived in Hisui via wormhole - FANON
"For my part, I simply found myself one day here in Hisui, a region whose name I'd never heard... All I could remember was my own name. I was still standing there in bafflement when the Pearl Clan came to my aid."
- Ingo, PLA. (However, the art book depicts the pearl clan finding him facedown on the ground, so take his standing claim with a grain of salt)
We still don't know how he got there. Similarly, it is quite common to show Ingo arriving during a blizzard/freezing to death and generally in poor health/injured/unconsciousness. But the way he recounts it sounds much more peaceful.
It'a also common to have Sneasler be the one to find him. The art book (of dubious canon) shows a human pearl clan member finding him, and Ingo's quote seems to confirm that. It's possible Sneasler was involved but she isn't mentioned.
Ingo got amnesia from hitting his head - FANON
We don't know how he got amnesia.
Ingo remembers Emmet as "the man in white" - FANON
"I'm starting to recall a man who looked... like me. We'd battle and discuss Pokémon, I think... The words "I like winning more than anything else" flashed through my mind just now..."
- Ingo, PLA, about Emmet
He makes no mention of remembering Emmet wearing white or smiling.
Ingo calls her "Lady Sneasler" - FANON
Ingo only calls her Sneasler, no Lady. In fact, nobody calls her or any of the ride pokemon Lord or Lady because...
The ride pokemon are noble pokemon - FANON
There are 10 blessed pokemon descended from the heros of old, and these pokemon are revered by the clans and have wardens. The blessed pokemon are divided into two groups, the rides and the nobles.
The ride pokemon are not called noble pokemon, and they do not get titles. Mai talks about "the great Wyrdeer" but does not call him lord or noble.
"This suggests that even Pokémon that are not nobles can become frenzied..."
- Kamado, PLA, about the ride pokemon Ursaluna seemingly becoming frenzied
Ingo lives in Sneasler's cave - FANON
We don't know where he lives.
Ingo became a Warden because Sneasler liked him - FANON
"I showed a natural affinity for taming Pokémon, which is why I eventually became a warden. But still I wonder what my true purpose is here..."
- Ingo, PLA
There is no further information about his wardenship. There is no information on what his relationship with Sneasler was prior to him becoming her warden.
Ingo likes having photos because of the amnesia - CANON
"Ah, photographs. I appreciate having physical keepsakes—less ephemeral than memories. Would you do me the honor of posing for a photo with me, <player>?"
- Ingo, PLA, at the Photography Studio
Ingo has been in Hisui for XX years - CANON
The art book uses the placeholder XX for the amount of time Ingo has been in Hisui. Some have taken the double digits to mean 10+, however the first digit could easily be a 0. So, we still don't know. Net 0 information.
Emmet must be taking Ingo vanishing badly - FANON
We have not heard from Emmet.
***
That's all for now! I'm sure I've missed or forgotten something, feel free to add stuff in the reblogs! I might edit the list later to add more if needed.

Jack Champion x gamer gf! reader
J. Champion with a gamer gf headcanons
Tumblr media
a gym rat and gamer girl in love.
A/N: incredibly short and silly, because this was just on my mind.
◇ even before he had asked you if he could be your boyfriend, he knew about your gaming addiction— obsession.
◇ no matter where he saw you, your eyes were always set on a screen.
◇ whether that be on your PlayStation, computer or even the Nintendo Switch.
◇ he knew you liked gaming, but when you started dating, he truly got to meet gamer you.
◇ you stayed at his house often, it was almost your second home.
◇ the main reason being: the two of you were glued together.
◇ it doesn't matter what either of you were doing, as long as you did it together.
◇ moments when you sat somewhere with your phone being opened on Genshin, waiting at the gym while he was training.
◇ this also meant your stuff being in his bedroom.
◇ your Nintendo Switch for example.
◇ whenever the two of you were free from any work and college, you would be lying down on the bed, resting your head into his lap.
◇ you would be playing any form of tactical strategic game as he ran his fingers through your hair.
◇ he would watch the way your nose scrunched up as you glared at the screen to figure out how to ambush the enemy without getting your team killed.
◇ the movie he had put on the television long forgotten as he watched you in admiration.
◇ he would give commentary as he watched you, asking you things that he saw as he was genuinely interested in the stuff you like.
◇ "babe? What does that icon mean?"
◇ "do you get to dress up your main character?"
◇ "is there a reason why you put the arrow users behind the sword users?"
◇ he knows he might sound dumb, but he was genuinely wondering.
◇ you looked like you knew what you were doing, as if you put all of your energy into it.
◇ it was cute.
"Are you sure I can try? I mean I don't want to ruin your rounds-"
"Jack, babe, it's fine! I will help you." You were playing 'fire emblem three houses' on Jack's lap, but you couldn't help but feel a gaze burning into your skin. You had looked to the side, watching how he watched you with interest. You knew that look, he was curious, eager to try.
So you told him he could.
You were still in his lap, the Switch in his hands as yours were on top of his to guide him.
"What I always do is keep the bow user behind with the healer, before that I usually put mages, then axes and polearms and swords. I usually put cavalry on their own as they're pretty strong. Sometimes I leave them with healers, as they also have another weapon to use so that the cavalry isn't all alone."
He had no idea what you were saying and it was noticeable in the way he was playing.
Attacking a cavalry with a bow user, but he was getting there.
You couldn't tell him off, though. The way he was fully concentrating in the game with his chin resting against the top of your head.
◇ when the two of you were at your home, he would sit you on his lap as he watched you game.
◇ one of his arms wrapped around your waist to keep you in place, his other hand occupied by his phone.
◇ his phone was long forgotten though, as he watched you carry in your valorant match.
◇ you play without a headset when Jack is around so that he doesn't feel closed off or ignored.
◇ this is how he hears the toxicity of Valorant though.
◇ genuinely gets angry when you get insulted.
"Bro, why you assuming aimbot? Not my fault I can actually aim." You groaned into the mic as your fingers aggressively tapped on the WASD keys. You got into yet another toxic match and it was pissing you off.
"Make me a fucking sandwich, fucking bitch."
Now that made Jack furious. The grip on your waist got tighter as he cussed the other player out into the mic. He wouldn't let anyone get off the hook so easily, not when they degraded his girl.
"Who do you think you are, fucker? Treating women like trash? You're so fucking pathetic." His voice was hoarse as he spoke, venom laced into his words.
◇ worries when you play any game that involves communication via the mic after hearing what words are exchanged.
◇ call of duty, apex, valorant.
◇ any shooter games.
◇ he just worries that the words will get to you, but seeing how much you enjoy the game, as well as the way you knew how to reply to such comments he just knew you would be okay.
◇ that wouldn't stop him from being the overprotective boyfriend, though.
◇ eventually, Jack actually wanted to spend his time gaming with you as well.
◇ you were over the moon when he had told you that.
◇ your gym addicted boyfriend? Wanting to learn about the game world?
◇ you knew you had to start easy.
◇ something cute, interactive but romantic.
◇ minecraft.
◇ he knew about minecraft. He had played it a couple times with friends, but that was years ago.
◇ he had bought the game on his phone and you helped him with his own avatar!
◇ fun fact: the name of your shared world is actually your shipname.
◇ he hits all the flowers he can find for you.
◇ his entire inventory is filled with different kinds of flowers.
◇ follows you around like a lost puppy when the two of you go hunting.
◇ wants to be your knight in shining armor, but only has flowers to smack the zombies with.
◇ screamed when a creeper blew up not so far away from him.
◇ gets distracted by the most stupid things he can find.
"do we need this web?"
"rotten flesh? Should I take it?"
"this polar bear reminds me of you babe!"
"babe help! I lose you."
"can you come get me? I think I'm lost."
◇ he loves to spend his time building you guys' house and he acts like that's actually what your house will look like.
◇ "hmm, I actually want the dinner table to be here, since you like sitting down and facing that way, right"
◇ you told him it's just a game, but he wants it to be as accurate as possible.
◇ he squealed when you tamed a cat and called it Butters.
◇ he spends time fixing cute dates in minecraft while you're busy with college: picnics, mini zoos— since he knows you're more of an indoor person.
◇ you thank him with a lot of irl kisses.
◇ all over all, he's trying for you and he enjoys spending time with you, no matter what. <3
◇ BONUS
◇ he is so jealous whenever he catches you playing gacha games.
◇ why? He always catches you drooling at some hot animated characters.
◇ sits far away frowning, arms crossed as he watches you giggling at your phone.
"Babe! I'm the real deal! He doesn't exist!"
◇ he just wants attention, pls tell him you love him. <3

Pokémon Legends Z-A was announced for release in 2025, and I was surprised, but extremely happy for a return to Kalos... at least partly.
According to the game's blurb from Nintendo, the game will be entirely within Lumiose City, the central hub of Kalos. Mildly disappointing, sure, but considering Legends Arceus seemed to be Game Freak's take on Breath of the Wild-style gameplay, my guess is Legends Z-A will be their take on FF7: Remake -- a game set entirely within one city with multiple sectors. Lumiose has multiple avenues and plazas that all have distinct features even in X&Y.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said, there's a good chance some X&Y NPCs will make a return, specifically ones with ties to Lumiose. So here's a list I came up with of who they might be, from most-likely to least-likely:
Tumblr media
Prof. Augustine Sycamore.
Kind of a given. His lab is in Lumiose, his primary field is Mega Evolution (which was teased to return after being absent since Sword & Shield), and he knows of the Legendary Pokémon of Kalos, revealing to the player the name of the one on the box on their first visit to Dendemille Town. He's also mentioned in the Mega Evolution Tower in Shalour City as not being able to Mega Evolve anything. Maybe that'll change, reflecting his anime counterpart?
Tumblr media
Sina & Dexio are Sycamore's primary assistants, also studying Mega Evolution and the Pokémon of Kalos as a whole. They also showed up occasionally as masked heroes to fight Team Flare, but wind up more like that Tuxedo Mask "But you didn't do anything!" meme.
More importantly to Z-A, in Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, they give the player the Zygarde Cube. A box to hold fragments of Zygarde, heavily implied to be the Legendary at the center of Z-A's story based on the logo design. They even help the player join those cells into the 3 main forms of Zygarde: 10%, 50%, and Complete. That being said, their personal experience with Zygarde might come into play.
Tumblr media
Gym Leader Clemont is the Leader of Lumiose Gym, within Prism Tower. He also maintains the tower itself, as shown when he restores power to it after the Team Flare-caused blackout.
Clemont is an inventor and is intrigued by technology, though some of his inventions don't go as planned. But, his penchant for innovation and improving things might come into play with the renovations of Lumiose hinted at in the teaser.
Tumblr media
Trevor, one of the player's rivals, and a recipient of the Honor of Kalos medal along with the player and other rivals, making him a Hero of Kalos. He lives in Lumiose, and mostly focuses on the PokéDex inspired by seeing a Pokémon when he was little that he didn't recognize. He hoped by completing the PokéDex might answer that question, but that answer is never brought up in X&Y.
So what if that Pokémon was from a later region introduced after X&Y? Or a never-before-seen regional variant? A new Mega Evolution maybe? Lots of possibilities, and chances to expand on that thread.
Tumblr media
Alexa of Lumiose Press. She's first introduced in Santalune City, preventing the player from leaving town before beating her sister, Viola, at the Gym. She can later be found at work in Lumiose, and will guide the player to any major location in the city they ask her about, so she knows Lumiose like the back of her hand.
Her role was small, but she was used to introduce Kalos in the anime, being the first Kalosian Ash meets, and she serves as a tutorial character, giving the player the Exp. Share.
Tumblr media
Emma and her Espurr, Mimi. Introduced in the postgame, she is central to a subplot with Looker, trying to help solve mysteries around town. But she gets wrapped up in a plot by the remnants of Team Flare by Xerosic. Looker arrests Xerosic and leaves the Looker Bureau, their base of operations, to Emma. And Xerosic leaves Emma some things as well: the Expansion Suit which allows her to perfectly disguise her appearance as anyone, and his party of Pokémon.
Emma was added to Pokémon Masters EX fairly recently, and the helmet to her Expansion Suit was added to Scarlet & Violet's DLC as a costume option. So despite only appearing after the main story was over, she's not forgotten.
Tumblr media
Lastly, Malva of the Elite Four, formerly of Team Flare.
We first see her as the anchor of Poké News, announcing that the PokéBall Factory raid by Team Flare was thwarted. Then at the League where she addresses to the player directly about her allegience to Team Flare, and her anger at the player dissolving them. And finally, in the Looker subplot, she meets the player in Lumiose and sells out Xerosic as her end of a bargain with Looker. But she doesn't seem to renounce her past deeds in Team Flare, and threatens that Looker should uphold his end of their deal.
Considering Lysandre Labs, a base of Team Flare's, was beneath Lumiose, it wouldn't surprise me to see some return of Team Flare given that Zygarde resides underground. And the only reason Malva's at the bottom of this list is her specific appearance in Lumiose was situational, as she's not a resident like the others are.
In any case, this is all just guesswork, so I could be way off base. As of me writing up this post, we know very little outside of the first teaser and the blurb from Nintendo. But, it's fun to theorize what could be! Thanks for reading!

Voidcritters (Afterschool Activities+)
18 August: This mod has been updated. Please refer to this post for more information before downloading.
6 May Update:
This is just a small update. Apparently the Store Tablet (which the Simtendo Twitch is cloned from) gets routinely purged from inactive Sims' inventory. So I updated it to stop it from happening. You just need to redownload the MAIN file to get this fix.
19 March Mod Fixes/Tweaks:
Mod should now run for players without Script Utility (thanks to the Anon for bringing this to my attention!)
Included a fix where Sims without cards asking others about their favorite voidcritters produced an error
Fixed an issue where the "Ask to Join Voidcritters Club" option was still available even after the target joins the club
Sims can now sit while playing Voidcritters Go! on their phone
Please also note that you need CCLoader in order for the custom comic books to show up.
Tumblr media
This is a TS3 version of Voidcritters which came in one of the TS4 packs and the second in my Afterschool Activities+ series of mods. I haven’t actually played with Voidcritters in TS4 but I really liked the concept and the worldbuilding and effort they put into it. Technically anyone can play but I made it for children and teens in mind. Sims can collect, trade, train and battle Voidcritters cards and play with their friends at the Voidcritters club. I didn’t want to go through the trouble of converting that bulky battle station and was planning to put it on the computer but then saw ATS3 had created a Nintendo Switch system based off the Store tablet and that was perfect.
For more information about the Voidcritters, you can read the handy guide here.
Tumblr media
The card and packs are by me converted from TS4. The Switch is from Around the Sims 3 and is based on the Store tablet so you will need the tablet for the animations. Thanks as always to Sandy at https://aroundthesims.tumblr.com/ for her amazing cc and her generous use policy! Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to edit the video effect for gaming so it’s off completely and I just added some gaming sound to it. If anyone knows, please give me some tips!
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out except for the Read Stats interaction on the card. The card sticks through the Sim's hand. I tried for hours to fix it but alas, animation is not my forte. I was going to just remove it but it's the only place where I included the cute little descriptions for each Voidcritter so I'm leaving it in. Aside from the descriptions, all the information on each of your cards can be found either in the skill journal or by hovering over each card.
You need NRaas Career for the custom afterschool club, the Store tablet for the Twitch and Generations and University for other gameplay or animations.
Let me know if you have any issues! More details after the cut.
Download (8 files) here
How to Play
Voidcritter cards can be purchased in Entertainment/Hobbies&Skills or Kids Room/Toys. They come in packs: Starter Packs (§75) which have Common cards, Booster Packs (§90) which have Uncommon cards, and Battle Packs (§105) which have Rare cards. The cards you get are random each time you open a pack.
Common cards are §25 each, Uncommon are §45 each and Rare cards are §105. The values of the cards will depreciate over time but also can increase depending on their rarity and power level so you can sell them to make a some profit after training them up.
You train up your Voidcritters on the “Simtendo Twitch” handheld (Electronics/Misc; §500) and then battle them against other Sims that also have Voidcritters which will boost the power level of your Voidcritters and your Voidcritter skill.
Using the Twitch, you can battle with anyone who has a VC card online or anyone who has at least one card and a Twitch in person. Battles are decided based on the players’ VC skill, the power levels of the Voidcritters that are battling and if they have an elemental advantage (i.e. Water Voidcritters have an advantage over Fire ones).
You can also play a mobile version ("Voidcritters Go!") on your smartphone. However, this will only increase your VC skill. You can't battle with cards on it.
Voidcritter Skill
The Voidcritter Skill is for children and teens. There are 10 levels for this skill. Once you max out the skill, you will get a Limited Edition card.
There are two skill challenges: Battle Master and Top Trainer. A Battle Master is a Sim who has won 20 battles. They will earn extra battle points when in a battle.  A Top Trainer is a Sim who has at least 5 Voidcritters with 100 power level each. (I know the photo above says different because I took it before I made the change after realizing how difficult that challenge would be.) After achieving this challenge, you will be able to train your Voidcritters much faster.
Uncommon, Rare and Limited Edition cards are skill-gated meaning that you have to reach certain skill levels (4, 8 and 10, respectively) in order to train or battle with them.
Gameplay Interactions
Aside from buying cards, you can also trade cards with other VC players to fill out your collection or get rid of duplicate cards. You can also give cards away. If other Sims have cards, there are specific interactions that will appear like asking about their favorite Voidcritter. Children and teens can also beg their parents or grandparents for a Simtendo Twitch. If you have a bad relationship with someone and they have cards, you can beat them up and steal a card from them.
Voidcritters Club
Voidcritter enthusiasts can join the Voidcritters Club afterschool activity where they will gain VC and video gaming skill and can battle with other club members. There’s also a chance they may find a card while at the club. Sims can invite their friends to join the club as well.
Other Nerd Actions
Sims can read one of the 8 Voidcritter Comics you can purchase at the bookstore. There’s a 25% chance that you find a card in the comic book.
Finally, what is a proper nerd without some fanfic? I added the option for Sims with Level 5+ Voidcritter Skill and Level 1+ writing skill to write Voidcritter fanfiction. You can also read fanfic if someone else has written it and if you are the writer, you can read reviews of your fic. Playing Voidcritters and everything VC related also builds the Nerd Influence skill.
